  • I have been consuming 1900-2100 calories with a 14 month old that nurses 8-10 times per day still, and solid food as well. He also wakes in the night and eats. :) I have been dropping about 1 pound a week doing this. I started at my basic rate of 1570, which mfp gave me with an active lifestyle (have six kids). Then I add…
  • This is my current weight also, and also how much I am eating. So far I've been losing 1/2-1 lb a week, so I'm happy!
  • Good for you!! That's alot of months to b'feed! I am adding in about 400 calories since he is getting some solids, although not lots. So far it's working, just a little slower than I'd like! LOL
  • :) Yes, you will! And thanks for the reminder that everyone is different. It's been a little hard for me to gauge how much I need since I have six children and do all my own gardening, canning, etc. If I stall at 2000 cals, I might up it more.
  • So you eat 2100 PLUS exercise calories, or 2100 is what you are eating total?
  • My baby won't take bottles or milk/formula well either! And he just turned one July 1. :) I am following this to see if there is any advice.
  • I just now am counting calories faithfully - and my baby is one. He eats solids, but will not drink milk. So we still nurse 8-10 times a day! I am allowing 400 extra calories for bf'ing, plus I add in exercise calories. It is giving me 1900-2100 calories per day and sometimes I don't eat quite all those, but I'm finally…
  • Following. I have an almost one year old and am not dropping weight well at all either. So I can feel your pain! However, I am not weaning him yet and he still loves to nurse ALOT. :) Hope you find some answers! Just curious, what are your calories consumed each day? I've given up counting them at all, but should probably…
  • Paige, my goal is 115 and I was wondering how many cals you eat to maintain that weight. I'm kinda wanting to know in advance.
  • THIS is what I need!! Since Thanksgiving I've slacked off....and Christmas is coming up. But this might help keep me in line. :) TaraMaria - Cut out refined sugar, Run/Walk the distance from Nazareth to Bethlehem, Run for 30 Minutes Straight or Three Miles, Ab Routine 3x's Weekly Amy (asjerven)- running/cardio 3 days per…
  • I'll have to say I thought "pregnant" also!!
  • Thanks, Paige! I'm going to up it to 1300, plus exercise cals.
  • Just curious...how many cals do you all eat to be losing the last five pounds? I'm trying to stick to 1200 plus exercise cals, but it's hard. I get so irritable, weak, and hungry. :( I'm 5'4" and I have been hanging around 120 lbs., 121 for months now. I have 5 kids and that always seems to be the number my body comes back…
  • That'd be me, too!! :) I have five kids, ages 9 and under. Breastfeeding always helped me, but the older I get, the less it helps. :( My baby is now almost 9 mos. and is recently weaned so I'm getting down to brass tacks to get these last 6 pounds off. I'm at 121, but 115 fits me good. My goal is to be there by…
  • I also use the coolrunnings program, although I simply printed out the schedule and use my stopwatch. I did not download anything. I love this program! I just got done doing day one of week 6......for me this is very doable.

  • Make sure you eat enough!! That is the lesson I have learned while bf'ing and counting calories. I started out with 1500-1700 and my milk dropped off the deep end. LOL I personally need 1800-2100 on a consistent basis to make a good milk supply.....and this is even with my son being 7 months old and eating solids. I can't…
  • Personally, I cannot eat any less than 1800 (a day here and there doesn't hurt). A consistent calorie allowance of 1800-2100 gives me a good milk supply. Anytime I go lower, I really struggle on the milk end. I hit a plateau for two months, but am finally losing again. My advice is not to go too low......especially if…
  • I personally need 1800-1900 calories to make enough milk for my baby.......he's 7 months and on solids now, so a few days of 1700 doesn't hurt. This has had me dropping weight just in the last month. Next time, I'm going to start out with 2000-2200cals, then once they are on solids, reduce it to 1700-1900. This would have…
  • Thanks for the info! I'm roughly 124 , 31 years old, and 5'4". I do not have a job, instead I stay at home with my five kids. I've had trouble figuring out what my calorie intake should be, especially since I'm nursing a 7 mo baby. But after reading this thread, I am encouraged that I am on the right track at not expecting…
  • Well......I'm into week 5 as of today!! It went better than I had figured. Those five minute runs weren't that hard at all....but you all must know that before I started this program I had been running a mile straight for about 2 weeks. So my endurance was already at that level. Still, I am enjoying this program…
  • I did w4d2 today. I love this program!!!
  • I count mine as active. I have five children ages 8 and under with 6 months being the youngest. I have two gardens that I keep up during the summer, canning & freezing of produce, and then the normal laundry 3 times a week, grocery shopping, cleaning, etc. I am on my feet alot and we have a house with 2 flights of stairs.…

  • Now I'm confused...I thought we're supposed to be watching the sodium while dieting? I've had the lightheadedness, too, and wondered what caused it. How much sodium should we be shooting for - for those of us with low blood pressure?
  • I'm a mom of five and know how tempting that can be. :) And as much as it may not be popular on this thread...I'm one of those moms who requires her kids to clean their plates 99% of the time anyway. I don't like going to all that work of cooking food and then seeing them take two bites, turn up their nose, and then leave…
  • I am one of those nursing mamas who's struggling also. :( I have tried the low cal thing with eating around 1500.....that made my milk drop way too low and I was lightheaded and shaky. So I've been hanging around 2000 for the last couple months, saw a 1-2lb gain, but I think it's slowly coming back off again. I'm trying to…
  • I'm one of those nursing moms as well.....although mine is on some solids. Still, he is a 19-pounder and requires alot of food! LOL Anyway, he is 6 months old and I have struggled to lose weight for the last 2 months. I am more toned, but still at a plateau. At first I was only eating 1700cals or less, and my milk supply…
  • I usually run Monday through Friday, sometimes Saturday, and then take Sundays off. Is this too much? I'm not sore anymore, so I figured it wasn't too much too often.
  • Jen, how do you know if you are small-boned? I read somewhere on here something about putting your fingers around your wrist. I normally would call myself medium-framed, but not sure now. Edit: I just did what you suggested. I put in that I was sedentary, which gave me 1200cals. Then I put in roughly all the activiites I…
  • I might check in once in a while. I haven't been real diligent at posting all my food. I'm nursing a 5mo and am having a hard time keeping my milk supply up. I'm concentrating more on fitness rather than weight loss at the moment. I've started running a mile every day that I can. I'm curious what you all think my calories…
