  • Welcome. We have all been there! MFP is the only thing that has ever helped me lose weight. We're all in this together.
  • Great job! You look so much brighter and alive.
  • I will be curious to see if it still tastes good. I know that when I stop drinking soda (I'm back on again, and trying to quit), it tastes awful at first. I think that might be a clue :)
  • First, you truly do look amazing. Second, thank you for this post. It was just the inspiration that I needed today to get back on my journey. I have lost and regained 25 pounds in the last year or so, and I'm ready to do it again. I am going to keep your post bookmarked to keep me inspired..
  • Welcome to MFP! I agree with the advice to use the gym on base. Not only will you get exercise, you'll also meet other military spouses who are interested in exercising and probably make some new friends. It is easy to be bored and eat too much when you are new to an area.
  • I have discovered that I'm just as happy with a seltzer with a splash of white wine as with a glass of wine. Plus, I can have a bunch, still not drink much alcohol at all, and I'm super-hydrated! A wedge of lime or lemon is a bonus. I easily go through three or four litres of water a night, and still only have a glass or…
  • Thank you to everyone for sharing. It has been really helpful! I've changed mine to public as well, if you would like to peek.
  • My scale weighs differently if it is different places on the floor. As long as it is consistently off, it shouldn't really matter. We're measuring progress, not numbers :) I have to make sure that my scale is in exactly the same place every time to be sure that I am getting an accurate reading.
  • What a good thread! 1. Get a good family photograph. 2. Stop hiding from cameras. Oh, gosh, that is all I can think of! 3. Continue being a good example for my kids. 4. Learn how to be more creative with eating food that is healthy and yummy. (See #3) 5. Run a 5K
  • Good for you! As long as you stick to it, you will always succeed in the end. Hope you are feeling better.
  • MFP's protein calculations seem pretty low to many people. I personally think it would be rather hard to get too much protein, unless you are doing something like the Atkins diet. I wouldn't be concerned unless you are eating twice as much protein as listed, every day. I'm sure others will have additional views on this. A…
  • I have to agree that 1200 seems wayyyy to low. Sometimes I wonder if everyone just automatically assumes that 1200 is the right number for everyone. I would definitely ask her how she calculated that figure. I wouldn't be surprised if she said that she hadn't calculated anything at all. It sounds like your weight loss is…
  • Congratulations on your successes. I'm so glad that you are feeling happy about yourself.
  • That is fantastic! Your success encourages all of us. I hope you find a job really soon.
  • You are doing so awesome. What an inspiration!
  • Congratulations! It is sooo frustrating when it feels like people can't see the changes, but eventually they say, "Wow!" You should be very proud of yourself!
  • Wow! You have done an amazing job! I am confident that anyone who can lose 125 pounds can certainly resist the lure of too much junk food. I'm starting to discover that while there are some foods that I can have "just a taste" of, there are a few foods that I need to keep out of reach entirely... You can do this!
  • My favorite is romaine and spinach with a diced fuji apple, 1 T low fat blue cheese, 1 T chopped walnuts, and 1 T Newman's low fat balsalmic vinaigrette. It is absolutely wonderful and less than 200 calories. For more oomph, add chicken. Yum, yum, yum...I eat this nearly every day.
  • I'm going to start once the kids go back to school, so any of you who need to wait a week or two...keep your eyes open!
  • That's fantastic! Enjoy!
  • I've never been a rope skipper because of the bra problem. Since I've been working out more regularly, I find that wearing one sports bra two sizes two small under one a size too small usually provides enough support. I've been doing the jump rope cardio part of the 30 Day Shred and I rarely get both feet off the…
  • I'm so happy for you! 25 pounds is a lot and I'm sure that other people have noticed too. I would think that you'd soon have a whole club out there walking. Great job!
  • That's amazing! I can't even imagine how good you feel :) Enjoy and keep up the good work.
  • greek yogurt with berries and granola or tortilla with veggies (I use peppers, onions, tomato & spinach) and cheese grilled or toasted or instant oatmeal - yum!
  • I've just found y'all and I hope you'll let me join. Today is day 4 of shredding for me (I made a chart, too, and put it on my bedroom door where all my kids can see :) My five pound weights are a little much for the whole routine, and I have to be careful with my bum knee, but I love, love, love that I can lie in bed 12…
  • Here are my favorites: BabyBel cheese (expensive but so satisfying) yogurt cup of greek yogurt with fruit in it veggies & dip/hummus/peanut butter. oatmeal in a thermos (excellent after it has sit for two or three hours) fruit, get fancy and cut it up if you want - I always eat more if it looks nice Fiber One Bars…
  • Sounds wonderful! A great idea for a brunch buffet or lunch at home.
  • If it makes you feel any better, I was in a (slightly) similar situation many, many years ago and it really seems to unimportant now. The year we got married, it almost seemed like a race (my sister got engaged after me and then got married before me, but she wasn't the only one.) Now that so many years have passed, we are…
  • Hi Kylee, and Welcome! I'm a Navy wife, too, and my husband is deployed. I feel like this is a great time for me to make this change and hopefully surprise him. MFP has been an amazing gift - I had made no progress the first three months he was gone and I've lost about 20 pounds in the last three months. (He's on a year…
  • This post was just what I needed today! Thank you to Jeannie and everyone else who has posted for sharing the positive truths about this important journey! We can do it!
