I will assume that's aimed at me as I mentioned the breakfast ill thing- that's why I wait til much later in the morning to eat, when I am actually hungry and have done enough to get everything going! I wake up at 6.45 and it'll be probably 3 hours until I eat.

I'm very boring and tend to move between three breakfasts: 1) 2-3 Eggs (either scrambled or omelette) with a bunch of vegetables (eg kale, peppers, mushrooms) and some Greek-style cheese crumbled up in thar 2) Greek yogurt, granola and berries 3) 2 poached eggs on a slice of ryebread with avocado smooched on the top. I'm…

I'm not a runner yet, but I hope to be some day. And I'm pretty sure I'll be slow as hell, but I like to keep movie-Gimli's words of wisdom in my head: "I'm wasted on cross-country! We Dwarves are natural sprinters, very dangerous over short distances." I'm good with being a dwarf.

I'm not a 'low carber', but if I don't want rice I'll always serve chilli, curries etc with cauliflower, broken up into tiny little chunks.

I used to eat at Wok & Go when I lived in Nottingham, and it ALWAYS seemed very oily to me, so be careful with that. Otherwise, it's all freshly made to order and using real ingredients (as in, fresh vegetables, noodles and meat) so from that perspective it's pretty good.

Well, I've always preferred a cold shower to a hot one and I'm still fat sooo.... Yeah.

I'm getting Smaug on my left forearm, just under my elbow crease (NO idea for the correct terminology there!?) I have some other ideas too that will come when I've dropped weight. I want to get 'Fear profits a man nothing' and 'Tempus Frangit' somewhere (+10 for anyone who understands either reference), I would like Hugin…

1-2lbs a week is my aim, though I often go either side of that (I have a lot to lose still so I'm not that worried). I try to stick around 1800-2000 cals a day, but I sometimes go under during the week because I relax a little at the weekend.

This. Also, 250 ml of rioja (and that's actually a pretty big glass) is around 170 calories. Just sayin'.

45 minutes cardio (did 20 mins on the ski machine (as there were no Ellipticals free when I got there!), 15 minutes bike and 10 minutes row. Normally do 15/15/15 elliptical, bike and row) 45 minutes weights :)

Holy triggering-food-is-the-devil-control-control-control post Batman! Seriously OP, while I'm happy that you (seem to be) happy, as so many posters before me have posted- woah. I know raw vegans. They still hang out with the rest of us and don't think food is bad and evil and all that jazz.

I'm not going 'low carb' necessarily, just trying to stick to 40/30/30 :) Thanks for the link

I'm a Manchester United fan (since I was three).

How convenient! Thank you muchly :D

I'm lactose intolerant so I like to avoid dairy where I can (but partaking in the occasional cheese and/or ice cream deliciousness is worth the pain and other side effects), and I also cannot stand cottage cheese, but thank you for the suggestion :) Should have mentioned my other problem is carbs. Today is a really bad…

This. I occasionally bake vegan goods and applesauce is almost a pre-requisite for a loooooooooad of the recipes I use, and so I always have a mammoth jar in my cupboard. I have literally never been in a supermarket that didn't have jars of apple sauce over by the condiments (by the horseradish or mint sauce etc), and I'm…

I understand something of what you've been going through. I started a MA in 2011 but had to drop out after two months and be brought home after I had a huge meltdown. I was then out of work for nearly a year because of my problems, and my weight took the back burner. It's hard and I'm still struggling a lot but with the…

So, if I did a set of 5-10 reps and repeated this 4 or 5 times with a rest in between, that would be better? I'm reading up but I'm genuinely interested, sorry to sound naive and like a bit of a dumbass! It's good to pick the brains of someone almost 'in real time' :)

Thank you guys :) I'm wondering if the fact that I'm using a machine makes any difference in the weight and overall movement side of things? If my shoulders would protest to the overhead movement anyway, regardless of their weakness, I'd rather stop doing the shoulder press altogether and work on other areas. JoRocka-…

I'm another person who doesn't eat breakfast normally- I have to get up to do an hour and a bit at work before I hit the gym, and I'm never hungry that early in the morning. On days I don't have to go to work, I'd still not eat breakfast and go to the gym a bit earlier, but when I get back the first thing I eat is usually…

I usually drink 1-2 Diet Cokes daily, have preferred the taste for at least six years so it's more that than anything else!

I have two playlists for working out- one is pop and electronica, anything from Nicola Roberts, Lady GaGa and Lorde to The Birthday Massacre, and the other is pretty much all metal, like Hell, Dimmu Borgir and Amon Amarth. Every now and again though I'll just pick an album and go with it.

I'm 24 in May :)

I came back to this thread after taking a big, deep breath and walking way to stop it getting me angry. OP, you've had some awesome advice. There ARE meds that can cause weight gain (like any other medication, for any other condition really) and if your doctor thinks it appropriate you could try something else. Sometimes…
