  • I'm using cloth for the primary reason that it's cheap. We've spent $150 and have all the diapers we will ever need (a lot was gifted to us). I can't imagine having to go back and forth to the store or spending upwards of $2000 on stuff I will throw away.
  • That doesn't sound gross at all! I love to use avocado in sweet things! Try it in a cookie recipe in place of 1/2 of the butter. So good.
  • What I've been enjoying lately: 1 frozen banana 1 peach 1 cup raw spinach 1/2 cup kefeir 1/2 cup almond milk 1 scoop soy protein powder
  • I don't have experience with this either, but like any preggo lady i've read up on all the pregnancy boards when we were getting our testing done, and what the results might mean. I agree with Kelly. 1/53 is .018 percent. If someone told you that you there would be a .018 chance of rain today would you carry an umbrella?…
  • From the reviews on Amazon, a lot of women who are not runners wear this belt to help with the low back pain! I might do that too later on.
  • I bought the Gabriella band from Amazon. I find it a bit cumbersome. But I'm not really showing yet. It might be a godsend once I get a big bigger. Part of the cumbersome factor: Is itchy, so I have to wear a belly band under it because I don't want it touching my skin. Buy a size up they say. I did it it fits fine.
  • I consider myself a less intense runner, and I purchased a support belt. I don't think it will stop the walking breaks though that has to do with the heart rate (for me at least). The belt helps from keeping me pitched forward. At 20 weeks and not really showing I don't think I "need" it and sometimes it feels cumbersome…
  • I was just getting serious about a running program before I got pregnant. Like the OP, I took a break during the first trimester. I thought starting again during the 2nd would be hard but its been great! Working on 2 days a week now but want to increase to 3 and I by belly support band should be here any day! I can't wait…
  • Ginger People "Ginger Chews" You can pick them up sometimes at target or at health food stores. 90 calories in 3 I think and the ginger helps. Sipping on ginger ale too.
  • We are planning on cloth diapering and choosing Alva. Why do people think this is a hippie/granola thing? Can't it just be a frugal/cheap thing? People should understand that, I think.
  • 16 weeks and 6 total pounds gained.
  • Bumping this! I know that there are some new members to the group and I'm always looking for veggie/vegan preggo friends!
  • You look great. I can only hope I look this good a year postpartum!
  • Are you giving birth in a hospital? If so, does your doula have a relationship with that hospital? What techniques will she use to comfort you in delivery? Will she assist your partner as well? Does she offer any postpartum services? What do her fees include? What happens if shes not available during your delivery? etc.…
  • I just read Bringing Up Bebe and loooved it. So much sanity in that book.
  • Oh man! I just watched that tonight too! I don't have any suggestions for you though other than what the movie delves into. Know what your options are. Plan on having an advocate with you like a doula or midwife who can think more rationally that you can in that moment. Research your OB/midwife/hospital options to…
  • just a side note that you don't get to write off any of that expense on your tax return because it's considered future medical services. if that makes any difference to you.
  • I've heard great things about sweet almond oil. I don't know if it will work, but I am going to try!
  • Anyone else having practically no symptoms? I know I should be grateful but I just don't feel pregnant.
  • First trimester, and I'm maintaining at 1520 a day plus exercise calories. I'm 5'6, 31 years old. I set my MFP to lose 1/2 pound a week because I gain at MFP's recommended maintenance level.
  • My husband has been working about 60 hours a week for the past two weeks, and will continue to this week. When I told one of my best lady friends I was pregnant, she seemed really happy for me over the phone, but in person was very standoffish. Some of her first words to me were "Well, I guess I need to find a new friend!"…
  • I was running 3 - 4 times a week, 3 to 5 miles a day before I got pregnant. I took a running break during the winter because it got so so cold. My pre pregnancy plan was to power through c25k again once it warmed up (but do it much faster than the 9 weeks). Does anyone think that this is still possible while pregnant? I…
  • Girl name is Valentine. Boy can't decide between Merritt, Franklin, and Adler.
  • You can add me! 90% of my meals are vegan. My husband is vegan and since I cook for the two of us that is how I eat most of the time. Diary is totally open. I really like having a strong veggie support group of friends.
  • I'm a veggie too and it's important for me personally stay that way during pregnancy. I think that if your body is craving a particular food, its probably craving a vitamin or mineral. So I've been taking calcium and iron supplements in addition to my prenatal. But.... I don't feel pregnant at all. No neasuea, food…
  • Due Sept 19!
  • Thanks! I think I will trying subbing some of the potato for cauliflower.
  • I made Hoppin' John Risotto to celebrate the New Year! I veganized this recipe, by using Yves hotdogs (just had those around or I would have used something else or omitted), veg stock, nutritional yeast instead of parm. I added some kale and skipped the collard pesto. It was the best risotto I've ever made!…

  • I would like to know more about this too. And the above posting is waaay over my head. For myself at least, I need to start with the basics.
