Quick and simple. Steamed vegetables seasoned with lemon pepper and a pouch of lemon pepper tuna. I've also steamed the veggies and used the Thai Spicy Tuna. The tuna pouches are around 90 calories and the small quantity of vegetables you can have is no more than 30-40 calories. It's a complete meal for under 150 calories…

jcavanna2, Wow you've had quite an ordeal. I'm sorry about the loss of your dog. I have three furry family members and I know the loss of one of them would hit me hard. Don't be too hard on yourself when mistakes happen. Life happens to all of us and some days you're just trying to get to the next day. Focus on one thing…

There is no better advice. Follow the doctor's instructions, if it's not working for you call them and create a new plan with their guidance. I followed the doctor's instuctions and went from 233 to 130. It wasn't always fun but it was doable. My meals have evolved over the 2.5 years since I had surgery. For the first year…

Sorry about the loss of your dog. It's hard to lose a family member. Hoping next week will be better for you and your family.

I believe the amount of excess skin you have after weight loss is based on age, how long you've been overweight, genetics, and general skin condition. I lost 103 pounds and I believe I have about 3 - 4 lbs of excess skin and maybe less. I would love to have my arms done but as long as they continue to make 3/4 sleeve in…

I was actually afraid to eat. Had a co-worker who actually burst her staple line by forcing herself to over eat, so I was told. Maybe it was true, maybe it wasn't but I wasn't taking any chances. What I did out of fear was to take a tiny bite, chew it for 25-30 times (not much left after that much chewing), swallow, set my…

eclecticmom, you are not alone. I don't know one person who had WLS that hasn't said why can't I control my impulses. I've had the chip day where I would have walked barefoot through hot coals to get a bag of Lays. I actually had to go old school with a notebook and write down the foods that got me into weight trouble and…

Here are my answers based on my personal experience. Everybody is a little different and doctor's also provide different advice. Ultimately, in the end, you have to do what works for you based on the guidelines you're given, health issues, and personal goals. I have the activity/fitness thing down pretty well, walk 30-60m…

I'm 2+ years out and at goal +/- 2 pounds. HW 267, CW 135. I'm still eating the recommended 65g of protein daily. Honestly, I can't say much has changed with my diet from the weight loss phase to the maintenance phase.

ruqayyahsmum - Please don't be depressed about your regain. You were pregnant and following the advice of medical professionals to help you get through the pregnancy. Given the circumstances, you have very few options. You have a great plan, mini goals always worked for me. I divided my goal into 10-pound increments and…

Keep a bottle bedside and have a few ounces immediately when you wake up if you wake up during the night have a drink. I'm 2+ years post opt and some days I'm just not thirsty and when you're not thirsty you just don't think about drinking. However, flushing fat from your body is a biological process and water is required.

You can get back on track and start to lose again and get to your goal weight. Take it one day at a time, plan ahead and try to stick to the plan. Make a list of the foods that you let creep back in your diet, those are the kryptonite foods you need to avoid until you get things under control. I agree with someone above…

Jcavanna2, Happy 1st Anniversary.

I'm not a fan because I'm cheap. I agree with jcavanna2, make your own.

Do you regret getting sleeved? No, it was the best decision ever. Was recovery, or anything after the procedure worse than you thought? The pain was very minimum and recovery was quick. Right after surgery for a couple of weeks I had some issues with fatigue. I was probably sleeping 14 hour nights for a couple of weeks. As…

Follow your doctor's orders, like Clcmfp said focus on liquids like it's your only job. Don't worry about how many calories you're consuming that will change slowly over time. Fluids are the number one priority after surgery and most re-admits to the hospital are due to dehydration.

I've still have my gall bladder so I'm sure of the down time. I've heard it's more painful than the weight loss surgery but I don't understand why. It would seem removing the gall bladder would be less invasive than removing part of the stomach or having a total bypass. Sending you a prayer for a speedy pain free recovery…

I have BCBS. My initial appointment was mid August and I was approved the first week in September. Other than being overweight I didn't have any other medical issues. I believe it depends on the insurance carrier and perhaps a little on the surgeons office and the accuracy of the paperwork.

I always feel funny saying good luck about surgery and it was weird when people wished me good luck. It makes it sound like luck is involved in the process and I think it's all skill based and making smart choices. You will all do well and be successful on this journey. The process is scary and exciting at the same time.…

Bekah7482, as frustrating as all the delays are you stated you love your surgeon and that's important. If you had a doctor that you didn't feel good about I would tell you to look elsewhere. The office could be understaffed resulting in mixed communications. Hang in there things will fall into place.

I started with yogurt I think. I was sick of sweet foods but I was more afraid of causing damage to my new stomach. I was told only try one new food per day so if I had a problem I would know which food to avoid. I think refried beans were next and they were like heaven on earth to my taste buds.

Sending good thoughts to you and the doctor's for your surgery tomorrow.

I was told on the pureed stage my food needed to be the consistency that would pass through a straw but of course not to use a straw. My instructions also said not to introduce more than one new food per day. Think about how you feed a baby one new food at a time because if there is a problem you know what food caused it.…

I don't eat a lot of frozen entrees but I do keep one or two in the freezer for an emergency or I find that I can't eat one more left over. I've tried the Eating Well entrees - http://frozenfresh.eatingwell.com and I thought they were ok. They make at least 2 servings. I've also tried a few WW meals and Healthy Choice.…

Good luck on your journey. This weight loss group here on MFP are great. I was sleeved 2/02/2015, I'm at my goal and maintaining. I don't have all the answers and can't say that I did everything right but I can share with you my experience.

Clcmpf - I have dogs and they needed walking after surgery. I spent a lot of time throwing the ball down the hallway in the house and letting the dogs chase the ball. I did this in a chair because like you all I wanted to do after surgery was sit down. Happily I can now report the dogs are back to their regular walks. As a…

MJ5898 - It sounds like you have a good understanding of what weight loss surgery will do for you and what it won't do. I was a yoyo dieter for years. At the recommendation of my PCP I looked into weight loss surgery, not to lose weigh but to help keep the weight off. The sleeve can help with the weight loss because on…

The exhaustion was real. Good luck with your journey and you are not alone with the fatigue.
