JC Penneys, Dress Barn and if you feel like spending real money, Nordstrom's and Bloomingdales.

I had some tiny bruising around one of my incisions. I think the bruising may be caused by actual weight at the time of surgery, the doctor, and just plain genetics. Some people bruise a lot and other's don't. I wouldn't worry about it unless there is pain associated with the bruising.

I'm 9 months post opt and I average 800 calories per day. I asked at my last checkup at 7 months post opt and was told not to exceed 800 calories per day until I got to my goal weight. It seems low to me but it's doable and with careful planning you can meet your protein requirement and have 3 balanced meals. I drink one…

I had both the traditional (shake) protein drinks and some thin protein drinks. I could not drink the shake like protein drinks they were just too thick. I could not tolerate the taste of Isopure so it was a waste of money. I was able to tolerate Nectar protein mix. When mixed the Nectar is thin like water. I used the…

I had a few bouts of nausea after surgery and was given a prescription patch to wear. The patch lasted about 3 days and then would need to be replaced. I would call the doctor he can give you something to help with the nausea.

Just follow the diet your dietitian gave you, remember this is only temporary and you'll be able to eat again, and don't cheat if at all possible. I did excessive cleaning of my house during the diet, crawled around on the floor, cleaned baseboards, washed windows, cleaned out closets/pantry, and any other thing I could…

I had the 10 day liquid diet. Just focus on the reason you're on the diet, shrinking your liver, making your surgery more successful, making things easier for the surgeon, and easier for your during recovery. Count the days off like a kid waiting for their birthday and it will be easy.

Great picture of two beautiful ladies. You've done an excellent job.

Good news on getting the dates set. The time goes very quick once you have the date. Good luck.

Great job!

Congratulations.. enjoy your run.

I only used pain meds the first night I got home. Do make sure you get liquid pain medication. If you need to take it a liquid will be easier to take.

I didn't like milk type protein drinks after surgery. I opted for Syntax Nectar protein mix. I used the Strawberry Kiwi and added 1 package of crystal light lemonade to cut the sweetness. You can purchase from Amazon, The Vitamin Shoppe or Drug Emporium. I agree with one of the above posters, you need your protein to…

I used a timer and took a few sips every 10 minutes until I finished my 64 for the day. I can't say it was easy but it was necessary to avoid dehydration. I used that timer for at least 3 weeks and I was to tired of hearing the reminder buzz but it worked. Now 8 months out I can drink about 5 swallows slightly bigger than…

No last meal for me. Last meals are for death row and I was on the verge of something very exciting.

I had the gastric sleeve in February of this year and it was the right decision for me. There is a group here on MFP for weight loss surgery people. It's not that active but here is the link if you're interested in joining. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/637-gastric-bypass-vsg-lapband

Jill you are not the only one who at 4 months out had a few days of 'vacation' from counting and exercising. I agree with everyone on here, plan your meals in advance and log them here so you can see the nutrition makeup. I plan the full week and always log the day before so I can see where I need to make adjustments or…

Syntrax Nectar Strawberry Kiwi. I'm not a fan of sweet so I add 1 Crystal Light lemonade to a full scoop and 20 ounces of water. The lemonade cuts some of the sweetness. You can purchase from Amazon or the Vitamin Shoppe. If you have access to a Drug Emporium you can purchase single serve packages giving you an opportunity…

The waiting for the surgery part is the hard part, you're very close and before you know it your surgery date will be here. I've sent you a friend request.

deeS3211 - I can understand your frustration with slow weight loss but 1/2 pound per week is a loss, maybe not what you're hoping for but it's still a loss. I was given a calorie range of between 600 - 800 calories. I'm nearly always at the 800 calorie mark because I feel 600 is just too low for my body. What I do know is…

I wouldn't worry about when people notice your weight loss unless you are losing the weight for them. Just focus on healing, health, and your future plans. The surgery is all about you, your weight loss and emotional well being. Don't let other people control your emotions by wanting them to say something about your weight…

You get through it by focusing on the end results. I found a new hobby, found a good book, and focused on having a spotless house. You'll be surprised how much housework you can get done when thinking about cheating. Exercise is also good option if you are able to exercise. I would go for a 10 minute walk and think about…

I would purchase food scales if you don't already have a pair and start weighing, measuring, and logging everything you eat. I originally wanted the lap-band but the surgeon recommended the sleeve for me. I had a history of weight loss with regain and he felt the sleeve if used correctly could prevent my regain. The sleeve…

I did have vibration like feeling in my thigh after surgery. I asked the Dr's about it at my 2-week check up and he looked puzzled but did look at my thigh. It went away after a few days but it was weird. Initially I thought it was my cell phone on vibrate but soon realized it wasn't near me. I still have no answer for…

I was slightly nervous about moving from liquids to pureed, to mechanically altered, and finally regular food. One recomendation is only introduce one new food per day. When I went from liquids I added refried beans first. I didn't have any adverse side effects so I then added the next pureed food. After I made the move to…

I took two weeks off and returning to work put me back in my normal routine. I took my lunch and a back up lunch incase I had problems with my first choice. I also stocked my fridge at work with yogurt and protein drinks. If I couldn't eat my pureed lunch then I new I could eat the yogurt or drink the protein shake. I…

I use food scales for portion control and I count calories. I eat between 600 and 800 per day, generally closer to the 800 calorie mark.
