This. Ideally, an high intensity interval shouldn't last for more than one minute. If you can stand the intensity for more than 1 min, it's not intense enough. I think it's impossible to reach that kind of intensity by walking, unless you are very overweight and out of shape. It's still exercise and it is definitely good…

Day 1 : 11723 Day 2 in progress! 11651 so far

I tried Health Month but I'll take a look at HabitRPG... I love this kind of geeky stuff :P
-
10789 as of 4pm, so I guess Day 1 is done :)
-
I'm in! I just got a Zip and I need some accountability ;)

Thanks everyone for the advice! Would you suggest doing the accessory lifts after SL or on non-SL days?
-
I approve. Happy birthday! Enjoy your own Christmas :flowerforyou:

Thanks SezxyStef, I was wondering the same thing. Today I did 27.5kg (60ish pounds) and it was a total nightmare. Monday is my best day at the gym because Sunday usually means rest and tons of carbs, no way I'll be able to lift 30 kg next Friday :noway:

I tend to mind my own business unless someone is asking for help or wondering why they're not losing. Most of the time the kind of people that do these things are on low calories, so they just end up eating at a reasonable deficit somehow. However, I'd be happy if someone told me "hey, you're doing it wrong".

Red peppers and strawberries. I'd eat them even if they were packed with trans fats.

My roommate bought a cake mix with only flour, sugar and baking powder in it (don't ask me why), you need to add butter and eggs to it. It was close to exp date so I used it to bake some muffins and I saw that the nutritional label says it has 12 g FATS. Fats in flour and sugar?! I guess the label is referring to the…

Sorry, I don't have a device so I can't really explain step by step... But basically MFP gives you a number of allotted calories, the so-called calorie goal (you can see it at the bottom of your food diary if your device is not connected), then your device makes adjustements which can be negative or positive. If the…
-
Since you need to enter your adjustment manually (just log any exercise then edit the calorie count that MFP gives you) but you can't enter negative calories, you could lower your calories so that you never have to enter a negative adjustement. Does it make sense?

Now, THAT is putting things into perspective. :drinker:

Ask your friend who has Crohn's disease if there are any type of foods s/he can't eat at all. You can easily look up a list of "bad" vs, "good" foods for people with Crohn's, but as a matter of fact everyone will have their own. My brother has Crohn's and it took a lot of time but he managed to figure out his own "no" list…

Sorry for not being back... I've joined a gym and started weight lifting, so Stronglifts and outdoor running are pretty much 99% of my workout time now. T25 was great for kicking me off the couch, I will probably pick it up again next winter or do some random workouts on rainy days but sticking to the program is not an…

I don't know about the US, but in my country choosing to go where I can find the calories on the menu/online basically means fast food chains. I'm all for IIFYM and I have nothing against eating "dirty foods" in moderation but since I'll have them in moderation they'd better be awesome. SInce I've started eating out less…

I usually make salads with: cold grains (which can be brown rice, whole wheat pasta, quinoa, couscous, farro, bulgur...), dry-fried or raw veggies (I love red peppers and zucchini but it's really up to you) a protein source (cheese, tuna, diced ham....) a (good) fat source (extravirgin olive oil) There's everything I need…

Thanks everyone! I've been at the gym today for some cardio, took a look around and I managed to find two 2.5 lbs plates. Problem solved for now, I may invest in the fractional plates later on anyway... We'll see! Washers are a great idea too.

Age, amount of weight lost versus time, genetics.... They all play a role, but one of the few things you can control is hydration, which is quite important for skin elasticity. Any good hydrating cream will work, you don't need to invest a lot of money.

You are already at a healthy weight and very close to maintenance, so your loss will be very slow and possibly hindered by physiological fluctuations. This was my case, now I only weigh myself once a month. Take measurements and be patient!
-
Hello, I'm 17 days clean. Fluctuations were driving me nuts so I stopped looking at that b****h and sabotaging myself. If the number on the scale is dictating how you feel it's time to stop weighing yourself for a while. It's working for me. I plan to weigh myself once a month from now on. I'm still exercising, logging…

YES! I've read something here on MFP but can't remember who posted it (sorry): "You don't brush your teeth or have a shower because you love it but you know you have to." If the author is reading this post: thank you! :D

1. 1200 calories 2. "I ate too much at lunch so I might as well take the rest of the day off" 3. "I ate too much today so I might as well take the rest of the week off" 4. 1200 calories 5. 1200 calories 6. Eating out a lot 7. Weighing in every day and stressing myself because of weight fluctuations 8. 1200 calories

I know it's kinda sad but I love it: 1tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 tsp sugar/truvia, a cup of hot water and a splash of milk is perfect for a choco fix when I'm out of calories. I really like it.

Focus: this week is going to be HELL, next month is going to be... meh, then things will get better. That sort of worked for me. I knew it was going to get better soon, and now I barely think about smoking. I gained some weight because I wanted to eat everything in sight but, well, I only ate 50% of everything in sight.…

Hey guys, how are you doing? I'm feeling great! I just got myself a new gym membership so I can start weight training :)
-
Oh God you're sooo bulky and masculine! Terrible! Go back to the treadmill! You are amazing. Success stories like yours are the reason I'll be starting weight lifting tomorrow!
