My biggest advice is do not be discouraged if you feel like you're having to modify things. When I first started doing yoga in September I could not hold the poses for very long and many poses I couldn't even do! Even my wrists hurt and felt like they couldn't support me in a pose! But over time, I've gotten so much…

That's great advice! Also, sit down right now and make a list of what you're going to eat for the rest of the day/night. Then make a list of what you're going to have tomorrow. Include breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 snacks. Once you've done this, commit to yourself to stick to that plan. You can do it!

Way to go, Casii! That is quite an accomplishment! :)

I track calories, carbs, fat, protein, fiber and sodium. Calories-obvious :) I want to make sure I'm not having too many carbs or fat. I want to make sure I'm getting enough lean protein and fiber. Also, I want to monitor my sodium intake since that can cause water retention. I don't always closely monitor all that stuff…

I agree with all of you who said planning. If I plan my day from breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, snack I find that I am successful. When I 'wing it' or go off my scheduled plan, I don't do as well. And number 2, I don't look at this as a 'diet'. This is how I need to deal with food for the rest of my life. The ONLY thing…

I have lost 65 lbs. and have 40 left to reach my goal weight. Feel free to add me. :) I have a blog where I journal about weight loss (among other things!). http://honeyishrunkthemom.blogspot.com/

Most people I know love olives. I don't like them at all. If they are in or on a food I will not eat it. I can't even stand the leftover flavor that it leaves. Or the smell.:noway: That being said, I feel like *I* am the one that is the minority by not liking them.

Because they are desperate and want to lose weight so badly and just don't know how. It's not that they are dumb, they are just scared and don't know how to do it. A "doctor" tells them that this easy fix will work and they WANT to believe it so much, that they try. Obviously, quick fixes don't work. How many people have…

That is really awesome! Congratulations! :flowerforyou:

Cheetos. I occasionally try to buy the "baked" kind and even go to the trouble of portioning them out into individual servings in baggies. I still end up eating at least 1/2 the bag in a day. I just can't stop once I start with those little suckers. I'm thinking maybe next time I will buy the bag, take out two servings and…

Hello everyone! I'm 41 and have lost 64 lbs and have 41 left to go. I have a blog that I journal about my weight loss journey (among other things!) if you'd like to check it out. Feel free to send me a friend request here, too. I love friends! ♥

Great job! Your pics are inspiring! :)

That is great! Good for you!!!

(?) I'm quite curious what type of eating you're doing now that is incompatible with WW. WW encourages fruits, vegetables, lean protein, whole grains and healthy fats. Personally, I can't think of another type of nutrition that is better than that. Please share your situation as I am genuinely curious. In response to the…

I'm a mom. And I'm shrinking. ;)

^^^^This. Exactly this. Especially for someone just starting out on a weight loss journey. I would guess that you have started and not stuck with many diets over the years (like most of us who are overweight adults, so please know that you're not alone in that area!) ;) It's SO easy to give up and if you set yourself up…

Nothing. Well, since I started losing weight I HAVE stopped drinking soda but that had nothing to do with losing weight. That was just because I was addicted to having 5-7 cans a day and the aspartame was not good for me and it was costing too much money. I honestly feel better since I stopped drinking soda, but I don't…

First piece of advice, don't call someone back regarding a job while your child is around. Make arrangements for someone else to keep your child quiet, out of the house or at least out of the room. You have to be able to perform in a professional manner when you are speaking to someone regarding a professional position.…

I started in Dec. 2010. I lost 39 lbs. by July 2011. I was on a 'diet'. I got stuck and stopped planning and tracking in October. I gained back 18 lbs. between the beginning of Oct. 2011- the end of Apr. 2012 Lost what I had gained by the beginning of Aug. 2012 and then lost another 19 lbs. from Aug. 2012-present (so from…

I love them! They are my favorite fall fruit. The easiest way to get them out is to cut off the top. Slice 4 slices about 1/4" in from top to bottom. Soak in a bowl of cold water for 15-20 minutes. While in the water, pull apart at the seams you cut. Keep the pieces in water and begin to pull the membrane and peel away…

Actually, the best way to lose weight and keep it off is to change your lifestyle. :) Regardless of whether you lose weight slowly or quickly, if you start eating fast food, pizza and donuts every day you will gain it back. Just something to think about. :) Congrats on your awesome success so far! You're doing great! To…

I will just echo this comment.

IMO, saying that coffee doesn't count as water because you're putting caffeine in it is like saying a bowl of carrots don't count as a vegetable because you dipped it in ranch dressing. If you drink 8 oz of coffee and add a splash of milk you count the water as water and also count the calories in your milk. Just because…

What an inspirational and great story! That must have been hard for your friend to speak up, but wow, what a great friend to encourage you to make necessary changes. You look great! Congrats!

So the above graph isn't really reflective of your actual weight loss within those dates then, right?
-
stines72-I'm confused. According to your graph you lost 19 lbs. between 10/1 and 10/4 (?). Please explain.

I only weigh-in once a week (Monday morning) and log it in my weight loss log, which is here on MFP. I am currently in a little weight loss competition where I have to send in a weigh-in Fridays. Even though I weigh myself on Friday I don't log it on MFP.

I don't want to reply with such a blanket statement of eat less and move more, but .... that really is the cold, hard truth. YOU have to decide to make changes in your life. You have to start planning ahead for what you will eat, you have to make good choices and you have to make yourself learn to exercise. You don't have…

I've lost over 50 lbs. and I eat a snack every. single. night. :)

Walk. I am 40 (41 next month) and I walked. Each time I would walk faster and/or farther. Also, Curves is a great place to start. Walk Away the Pounds are great indoor workouts for walkers. Good luck! :)
