  • Like other have said above, IF should come naturally. That's how I've been feeling about it lately. I drink coffee in the morning and usually am not super hungry until 1 or 2 pm, and then I eat again at like 6 or 7. It ends up with me eating about 600 calorie meals which I enjoy. I truly believe IF would NOT work if I were…
  • How long have you plateaued? Sometimes it takes a few weeks to snap out of it for some reason if you truly are eating the amount of calories you are counting. If it's been more than 3 or 4 weeks then it's probably time to invest in a food scale just to see if that is the problem or not and then go from there. Oh, also I…
  • May I ask what OP is? Great thread though, would love to go running on the trails before Winter comes! :)
  • I also remember extremely similar situations in the past when my mom would offer/serve me really fattening food and I completely understand how hard it is to not eat what everyone else is eating or to say no altogether. The first thing you need to do is be able to tell your mom exactly what you want, and she needs to be…
  • Perhaps you could make smoothies or "green smoothies" so you could satisfy your thirst (which I'm assuming doesn't go away) while still getting good nutrients, fiber, and calories without all the sugar of fruit juices.
  • Switzerland here :) but only for another few weeks, I'm moving back to the US. Would like to share anyways if you're interested! :)
  • I think my view of a cheat day is a little distorted... what I do is eat normal, then go over by 200-400 calories, then make up for it by cutting 100-300 a day for a few days. Then it all balances out, does it not? That's how I do it anyways :P
  • @ kiki - Thank you, I figured that's how it worked but wasn't really sure. Have a great day :)
  • When people I live with EAT MY FOOD!!!!
  • You could just drink the coffee you love, but only drink half! That's what I do, sorry if this wasn't exactly what you were looking for... :P
  • I just wanted to say that it's great that you're focusing on the weight you feel your body is best at, instead of where society thinks it should be. I watched your video and being the same height as you I can say I look about 20 lbs heavier, when I'm around 140 lbs right now! Every single person is different and body…
  • I doubt it's from your diet, unless you are also feeling physically ill and losing hair as well. But yes, missing your period for so long sounds like a serious issue to me and it's probably better to get it checked out now since it's been so long. I know a lot of ladies (about 1 out of 10 women, including myself) suffer…
  • Yes, it's fine to drink. The biggest health issue with diet soda is that it erodes the teeth really badly. Drinking it with a straw should help prevent this a little but I doubt it will affect your weight loss at all.
  • If you have Chrome, download AdBlockPlus in the chrome add on store (free). I didn't even know MFP had ads because I can't see them! It also blocks a ton of other ads. If you don't have Chrome then just google "ad blocker for (insert name of your browser here)" and then you don't have to be bothered any longer!
  • eat it in crepes (actually pretty easy to make) on soft, nice bread in a peanut butter nutella sandwich drizzled on anything... (put in microwave for a few seconds so it flows better)... so ice cream, yogurt, oatmeal, anything :)
  • I have the same problem! Actually my wrists do look quite small but certainly not skeletal like, and when compared to my stomach (which sometimes looks a bit pregnant when I'm not) it does look a bit disproportionate. But I expect it to look normal once I've lost the last 10 lbs. You should also even out fine, no worries…
  • I personally log everything into MFP before I even go into the kitchen.
  • Journaling every night and just sorting through your own thoughts in an environment where you can just let go of everything in a safe and secure place might help as well. It helps keeps things in perspective, especially when you go back to a previous journal entry and realize how badly things were blown out of proportion…
  • This is seriously awesome advice! I love that quote, too. It reminds us to also treat those we love in a way that makes them feel like they are truly appreciated so that they never have to question whether the relationship is worth it.
  • Ash in catfood? I'm not surprised but how can you avoid this? Thinking about making home made cat food... wow. Animals aren't trash!
  • Chili's!! I LOVE CHILI'S! Their ribs are so yummy and the little slider burgers... oh man. Crispy onion rings. Honey chipotle crispy chicken fingers... :o~~ I can't wait to pig out :) Edit: oops, I think I missed the point. This would definitely be over my calorie goal. But if I were to have a cheat meal, it would be at…
  • I live in Switzerland... here the children actually travel home to eat their lunches (at least outside the large cities - I don't know about centrally located schools). I think that's a great idea and works great here. Unfortunately I don't see it working as well in the States. Anyways, thought I would share that bit :)
  • I actually just took that part out before you responded. I agree that upping her calories may not help at all (and logically it really shouldn't) but since the amount she's at now isn't working for her and going even lower doesn't seem like a great idea, it's kind of the first thing that popped into my mind. It's the next…
  • Wow, the misinformation here is astounding. If you've been trying for more than 2 months with no success, that means something's gotta change, but there's certainly not just ONE solution! There are so many different methods to weight loss and it is NEVER as simple as it may seem! This is why MFP is such a terrible place…
  • Only calories :)
  • When you were creating the recipe did you click the checkbox that asks you if you want to add it to the MFP public database? Go back to edit your recipe and check :)
  • It's hard to tell if we don't know your current weight and height measurements in order to determine how many calories your body burns naturally. Mind sharing? :)
  • Hey there! I also started MFP planning on not adding any friends but I've found that it really does help to have supportive people backing you up. I'd be happy to add you (and anybody else looking for new friends)! :D
  • Yes, I have a huge desire to eat "clean" - which I define by foods being as close to their natural state as possible and minimizing foods which provide no essential nutrients. But it is a huge challenge for me!
  • Sliced a little bit and mixed in with sliced tomatoes in a bowl. Add a bit of salt and I'm good!
