  • Fry up some bacon and some onions. Cut the bottoms off, cut them in half and roast them in the bacon fat left in the pan. Then pop them in the oven in the same pan and add the bacon and onion, cast iron works well for this, and roast them for about 45 minutes. So freakin good!
  • Are you on the ER/XR? That made a HUGE difference for me. Ive heard some who tolerate the ER better than the regular but some who actually tolerate the regular better than the ER. Also as in the case of @KnitOrMiss dairy can affect the Met depending on which/what/how much or any dairy within a couple hours of taking Met.…
  • LOL Hubby said the same exact thing to me! He's been on blood pressure meds since he was 18 even tho he wasnt overweight so I know some of that might be genetic but now he's overweight too with an enlarged heart. His mom is diabetic and because of the way health care was in the US for the last half decade, couldnt get…
  • Just about anyone anywhere can find places to get a whole animal or 1/2 of an animal for pretty cheap. I live less than 45 minutes from Chicago and can find just about any animal you'd be ok eating at a low price from a butcher or auction. We raise our own pigs for butcher along with chickens/turkeys/ducks for eggs and…
  • Thats were I got the idea but it is too greasy for me that way. Hubby actually does mix it IN the burgers and that is actually really good! Most of the keto burgers i found were keto buns, altho one type had pork rinds ground up and mixed in to the burger meat. I might try the burger meat, pork rinds and bacon fat mixed…
  • LOL i figured it was something like pour your fat/bacon fat back over your patty and serve. I think I need to go google Keto burgers now....
  • YES! The only time in my whole life that I have ever enjoyed steak is when I was pregnant with my daughter and that still had to be in some sort of steak sauce. Even fajitas made with steak I have trouble with unless it is paired with a couple strips of peppers or onions at the same time. I chew it and then I am like, ok…
  • HAHA made me spit my water, never heard this before but it is an apt description. And I'd be Keto/Primal/Cardio/PCOS
  • I do LCHF and Met and Inositol. The LCHF has had the most impact on me as far as periods go. Mine used to be horrid! Up to 11 days, heavy, clotty, overflowed a few times a day, etc. After changing my diet, along with Met and Inositol, I am now at about 5 days, no overflow, no clots, no pain, etc. The carbs can mess with…
  • Those are awesome but the credit for those goes to a guy here on MFP. He came up with those, posted them on the LC board and they are very very good!

  • If you friend me, I share my food logs with my friends. I do LCHF tho so if you are interested in that, friend me!
  • I've actually been doing this since October and I've maintained with ease. I bounce between 243.xx ad 247.xx and havent had to count calories or even log much because I've eaten very little carbs. Which is WOOHOO! At lease i feel confident I've got maintenance down when I get there. But to lose weight, I have to count…
  • Smurf all the way!! Yay I like you even more now! :p
  • 1. love the pic of your Mii 2. Yes! Loved ingress this morning with the sound effects and all. This is a loaded question, but are you a frog or a smurf?
  • I had to buy mine online because i couldnt find it anywhere else. Bought mine on amazon because Prime but I know Dan buys his at another site he likes.
  • LOL I wanted to reply but my periods are never late, ever. Spot on 29-30 days every single month and has been that way since I started when I was 10 years old. But I do have more energy after it is all over. And i feel better about myself and my mood and happy to be able to move and go for walks and stuff again.
  • I love quinoa! Cooked in some beef broth or bullion and then slathered in butter YUM! Too high for my carb counts most days but I do enjoy it. Quinoa stuffed bell peppers used to be one of our favorite dinners. And yes, I plan on sticking to this for life, for health reasons and for the way it makes me feel.
  • @cindytw No Problem! I lean more primal than paleo and am gluten free but often those recipes overlap. Glad to find a fellow low carb bento-er. I love looking at all the pretty bento lunches everyone makes here. It is great to know that even tho we have to eat differently due to health reasons, we can still have pretty…
  • I personally need to do Diet AND met AND inositol to lose any weight and my insulin numbers are still on the high side. But as I lose the visceral fat, my IR should get better, I hope. But my heartburn is better, my sleep is better, my energy is better, my shark weeks is better by FAR! my acne is better, my hair loss is…
  • I also said 'eh PCOS' and the doctor was worried I had fibroids also. But after multiple ultrasounds both before and after my miscarriage, we found none. And with getting my estrogen and insulin under control, they are down to a reasonable 5-6 days and not heavy. I have found, if i eat more carbs than my keto level, i…
  • same here, I have found the last few months that for maintenance I dont need to track, but for weight loss, I do.
  • Ive never tried it but Hubby makes me a chocolate MIM with almond flour, like a chocolate cake. But ive never tried to use this recipe specifically
  • @cindytw http://justbento.com/handbook/johbisai/green-onion-and-thyme-muffins-low-carb-gluten-free are the muffins http://www.multiplydelicious.com/thefood/2013/02/paleo-pizza-sticks/ are the pizza sticks which were a much bigger hit!
  • Or do a crab, garlic and cream cheese mix and put it in the portobella mushroom caps and bake them at 350 for about 10 minutes then top with cheese. Very good!

  • I could have written your post word for word @grannymayoz I am still struggling with the emotional side of eating and the frustration of having PCOS so even when i work really hard i lose very little, which doesnt help the feeling of failure I already suffer from. I am not sure I'll ever be over the damage my 'mother' did…
  • Wait, how do you use fat bombs incorrectly? do people do something with them besides eat them?
  • I use Dunkin Donuts flavored coffee because I still dont love coffee flavor itself. Then add my HWC, coconut milk, coconut oil and butter.
  • Hubby makes his ruben's with spam and homemeade sauerkraut on the MIM bread, fries them up like a grilled cheese sandwich and LOVES them!
