What is your starting weight? If your starting weight is 275 then that equals 145.75lbs of fat. so take 275-12=263 divided by 100 X 49=128.87 is your new weight of body fat. The only thing is how did you get this body fat percentage #?

Protein is a building block for any diet, if her diet is deficient of protein then by all means intake some form of it. Secondly your friend is getting way too carried away, it's not like he told her to take steroids....geesh

I see it. I would say 15lbs-17lbs to lose would be best. I am noticing you are losing but it also looks like you are losing muscle in your shoulders and arms. What are your workouts and also your protein and carb intake?

This is exactly right. If you notice the article talks about the a lb of muscle burning 6cals....This # is at REST. Now compare the #'s of what a muscle burns during weight training and now look at what kidneys and the brain burn during weight training....oh wait it's pretty much the same either way!!!
