You can do it! I have RA and I walk a couple times a week, do stretching/yoga and calorie cycle. Keep at it. :smile:

This has been the only thing that has worked for me after 15 years of being overweight. I have Fat Fridays at work and social occasions a couple times a month where I know I will go over my calories. Weekly absolutely works for me too. I have fat Fridays and potluck lunches at work and the usual birthday and other social occasions with friends and famiily. I can partake as I have eaten fewer calories the day(s) before and day after. After years of being on strict diets and failing, I now eat and celebrate with everyone…

Keep at it. Read many of these forums and get ideas. Experiment and find what works for you. For example, I track weekly calories so if something special comes up ( fat Fridays, birthday , I can partake and I'll eat less on other days.). Good luck.

Welcome! You are off to a great start. My advice is that you read everything here and find what works best for you. (eg, 2 large meals a day or 6 small ones. Do not worry about a one week "plateau" I am in my 6th week of weighing the same. It has happened before and will happen again. You can experiment with some changes (up calories, up exercise, change workout routine etc) to see what works for you, but do not give up.

Keep up with your efforts. Your success will be her best motivation. PS Two of my co workers were on this diet. One stopped after 40 or so pounds because she could no longer afford it .Another lost over 100 pounds and stopped when she ended up in the hospital. Both gained the weight back.

Tuesday is my weigh in day. SW Nov 13 190 (GW 179) CW Nov 20 188 CW Nov 27 187 CW Dec 4 185 Down 5 pounds. 6 to go CW Dec 11 182 ( had a terrible cold and didnt eat much so this may be temporary.)
