I'm a clean eater... I've stopped drinking beer. I keep wine to one or two glasses of red with a nice meal. I have the occasional gin and tonic or vodka & soda with fresh lime wedges.

I feel the same. Today I asked one of the trainers if I could bring along my book (NROLFW) and get some advice on how to use the squat rack and load up barbells safely and to go over form for the exercises in the programme. I've been wanting to start it for ages and I just needed that little bit of help to get going.

2 cups of coffee with milk, no sugar. Will eat "breakfast" when I get back from the gym in a couple of hours - eggs, veggie sausages & grilled tomato.
-
With respect... there is no such thing as "metabolism stoking"
-
It's both - its a look but i'm not going to get to that look unless the numbers go down

You'd be better off trying to lose half a pound a week, eating slightly more and then not being hungry all the time. Plus, then when you are goal weight you are more likely to keep it up as you will already be eating not far from your maintenance calories.

I don't love my thighs actually - whats wrong with wanting to be the best version of you and not settling for the out of shape version?

Steel cut oats with coconut, honey and a scoop of unflavoured whey. Followed by 2 boiled eggs.

Or bette still, avoid the supermarket! I get all of my weekly food delivered from an organic food company - a veg box, herbs, meat, fish, eggs, milk, bread, yoghurt, fruit juice, oats, dried fruit, nuts and tea. I go to the supermarket for cleaning products, toilet paper and a few odd things only. This evening I had roast…

Eating clean just means eating normally and rejecting all the crap that has started to get into our food chain in the last 50 or 60 years. Nothing sinister about that. Infact the food companies are far more sinister/cult like if you ask me. "Coca Cola - Open a bottle of happiesss" PUR-LEASE!! Open a bottle of tooth decay…

Is the OP training for a marathon? Sounds like they are exercising for weightloss to me. Lifting raises your heart rate, therefore you are getting fitter.
-
"Clean" is just an expression - ignore the word and focus on the meaning - the meaning is real foods that occur in nature, not made in a lab and assembled in a factory. Also ignore the raging debate over processed vs unprocessed. Sure - we all know that bagged salad and grated carrot is technically "processed" but they are…

Do weights? You don't even need to do cardio if you don't want to. Weights burn more fat anyway.
-
I have similar - all I can say is that it is getting a bit better as I lose weight. Dry body brushing and having a little sun tan does help the appearance of it.

I took chromium supplements a s cold turkeyed my sugar addiction.

THIS!

I am nearly at goal weight now and my tummy pooch is still there - but literally in the last week or so I have noticed that it is starting to shrink down. Just be patient and stick with your plan and you will get there - it really is the LAST place to go.
-
It doesn't matter of you eat 6 small meals or 2 large ones - calories in vs calories out.
-
Same, although I use one that has no artificial ingredients or sweeteners and comes from hormone free cows
-
I would say no, since it does not exist in that form in nature. Honey or maple syrup would be a better option.
-
I like to sauté a banana in a non stick pan with just a drizzle of honey and a pinch of nutmeg.

Yeah I've had a few "don't waste away" comments too. Ignore. I know I don;t have an unrealistic goal and I know I have a healthy relationship with food so I will stop eating at a deficit when I reach my goal.
-
Exactly. "untoned" just means you starved yourself or OD's on cardio and you lost lean muscle mass along with your fat meaning the body you're left with is soft and wobbly. Eating enough protein coupled with weight training means you melt fat but retain muscle = being "toned"

Goal weight is just an arbitrary number. When I was 145lb I had no idea what my body would be like at 125lb, I just choose that because it was a nice round number and I thought 20lb weight loss before summmer would be a realistic goal. I'm almost at my goal weight but no where near my goal body. When I hit "goal weight"…
-
That was me too! I'm down 16lb now and have 4lb to go. Add me / my diary is open :)
-
Just with a little skimmed milk or sometimes a cappuccino, no sugar.
-
Actually breasts are made up of both breast tissue and fat - so yes the fat will go as with the rest of the fat but you will still be left with something. Luckily mine haven't shrunk at all - only my band size. I'm just about hanging on in there in the same bras but on the tightest hook.

Use your own bodyweight - push ups, pull ups an tricep dips. Check out You Are Your Own Gym for progressions on these exercises and more.

I've been seeing a nutritionist for a few months and he told me to eat more warm, nourishing cooked food - more fats, more protein (in particular red meat, which I hardly touched) and to hold back on the refined carbs. It has really changed my life since I stopped eating processed and "diet" food and started eating real,…
