That makes absolutely no difference haha!

Since I didn't sign a contract that said I would be publicly shamed if I ate something SHOCK HORROR "processed" when I made the personal choice to try to eat cleaner - i do use a protein powder with no artificial flavour or sweeteners made from organic milk from hormone free cows. I can sleep at night.

I run a new business and earlier this year was busting out 60-70 hour weeks - I try to eat clean too and tried to prepare veg in bulk (roast large trays and keep in airtight boxes) also the slow-cooker/crockpot is your new best friend!

You can't gain fat in a deficit so I don't see why it's so difficult to understand that you can't gain muscle in a deficit.
-
It works for me because I can be realistic about what I eat - in the past if I over ate I would just write off the day and then go to hell with it and eat as much as I could for the rest of the day. Or - I would eat "healthy things" but note realise just how many calories were in things - like granola and yoghurt for…

You don't have to serve vegetables just plain steamed. That would be boring! You can make stews, sauces, soups, relishes, salsas, curries...anything!
-
Please add me - I eat clean
-
I have tea with milk and coffee with milk as pre-saved recipes and leg each cup I have. I use full fat dairy now so those calories do add up.
-
I noticed no difference.

I don't really see food in terms of being dirty - when I consider something "clean" it means it's food as it occurs naturally in nature. As long as the ingredients to a product are all things that are recognisably foods I could go out and buy myself then I'm not bothered if the chopping, peeling, baking, grilling, boiling…

I think the greatest hinderance to summer weight loss is all those afternoons outside drinking alcohol!
-
Haha, your body does not need a break from clean eating - what a hilarious thing to say!

Actually yes, because maintenance is no different from losing - except you get a slightly higher calorie goal per day. I am only on a modest deficit so when I get to maintenance my diet will be the same as it is now except slightly larger portions.

The calories on my HRM are very similar to the MFP circuit training option.

I don't 100% ban myself from eating foods, like EVER AGAIN....but certain foods are not in my regular diet and re reserved for high days and holidays or if someone else is cooking for me and it would be rude to refuse a dessert or cheese. I don't feel like I am "denying" myself anything - I eat extremely well and I feel…

At least in the UK where I'm from, there is no added sugar in skimmed milk. Fat free yoghurts and things like that may well have added sweeteners or sugars but plain dairy milk is just that - milk with more or less fat removed.

I've gone from the 10s to the 9s and the 8s are actually in sight - NEVER thought I would get this far. *edit* Go US!

I have had a few occasions where I have been away on a holiday or to a party with a buffet and alcohol where I've not logged but I've been mindful of my food choices and portion sizes neverrtheless. Sometimes I have gone WAY OVER on calories and still logged - just to see how much of my weekly deficit I've wiped out - it's…

Eating everything everything I wanted just so I wouldn't obsess over it is how I gained 20lb. Will power is how I've almost shed 20lb.

Frequency and timing bear no relation to weight. Eat at at time that suits your needs. Sometimes I like to graze, mostly i prefer to eat larger meals.
-
Also, anyone can fit 30 minutes exercise into their day. You can exercise at home, you don't have to get to a gym.

Hey I'm from the UK :)

1600 calories is really not that much! I ate 2000 yesterday without even "slipping up" it was just the natural amount of food I ate because I was hungry. No biggy.

Most: Steel cut oats honey eggs spelt sourdough bread Dried fruit Plain yoghurt potatoes carrots onions cabbage spinach broccoli chicken beef salmon banana least - i love all these things but they take up too many of my calorie allowance to be in my regular diet. cheese baked goods such as cakes / croissants potato…

It was suggested to me to avoid wheat because it is very hard to digest - I now buy either rye or spelt sourdough bread and eat in very small quantities rather than as a staple. It has really helped my digestive issues that included IBS.

It's short for macronutrients - these are protein, carbohydrates and fat So when someone says "hit your macros" they mean get the right amount of each of these.
-
This. I see a nutritionist and he said the cause of my 'irregularity" was not enough fat in my diet - so I am now eating a lot more meat and switched to full fat dairy - if you eat a lot of fibre and a low-fat diet you can actually gum yourself up.
-
There's no "should" - eat your calories when you WANT them.
-
I burn over 350 calories in my 35 minute soon classes - I'm happy with that!

THIS! I think a lot of over weight people have forgotten what hunger feels like so they can't eat intuitively according to their body's natural hunger cues.
