Just use the recipe builder on here.

You guys are fantastic, thank you. Cooking is new enough to me as it is (I'm dangerous in the kitchen!) so I haven't tried subbing items into other recipes. So this is very helpful as I wouldn't have had any idea what to use. :-)

Oh zella, sweet and sour salad dressing is this amazingly creamy, luscious concoction that needs liberally poured over every salad. I don't even know how to describe the flavor - pure heaven! LOL

Westpark area. :-)

Welcome! I'm doing Primal for about 2 months now. I generally do great during the week but blow it on the weekends. Old habits die hard. This is a great group of people though. :-)

Grassfed butter is still considered paleo, so that's why bulletproof coffee is paleo. I LOVE dairy, so I eat primally. That being said, I don't gorge on dairy - I use heavy whipping cream in my coffee or over berries as a dessert, and I put cheese on my eggs and sometimes my veggies, and then I use butter. But I'm not…

Welcome back!

Welcome! Primal since 7/17/12. :-)

I love f.lux. Great program. I usually go to my bed about 30-40 minutes before I want to turn the light off, and just read. It's a nice ritual to help me unwind.

Welcome!

I just love eating. :-D

I know one of the Crossfit boxes by me offers free Saturday morning workouts. Maybe try to find one that does that so at least you're getting some benefit of it. I hear you on the price. I'd love to do it but just don't have the moola.

You answered it yourself - you stride long so you heel-strike. Take quick, short steps. You should land on your feet while they are under your body. Doing this should pretty naturally switch you to a mid-foot strike and stop your shin splints. And yes, you will feel like an idiot taking these quick steps until you get used…

I've been Primal for almost 8 weeks now and loving it. Not perfect at it, but I am pretty good at regularly logging and cheering for my friends. :-)

Hit up Teavana and sample some of theirs. I'm a junkie for their teas and if you describe what you like they're pretty damned good at picking a good one for you, or combining a couple. :-) Iced tea is my drug of choice... *happy sigh*

I take whole eggs to work in a container, break 'em open there, scramble them in the bowl and just nuke for quick and easy scrambled eggs. Add some shredded cheese, bacon if I have any, and VOILA! A breakfast that has my coworkers salivating and keeps me full until lunch. :-)

I'm not actually sure what my BMR is, but I generally eat around 1800-1900 calories. 5'9", 220 lbs. Been doing primal for about 7 weeks and have lost about 10 lbs. I'm feeling more slender, and my clothes are fitting nicer even though the scale hasn't moved very much. Kind of nice because when I was doing weight watchers,…

Too slow? No such thing! I was thrilled when I broke under a 20 minute mile! I'm now averaging a blisteringly fast 15 minute mile after finishing the C25K. First 5K next Saturday - I'll be beyond ecstatic to 1. finish it, and 2. finish it in 45 minutes or less.

Well first, let me apologize - it seems most of what I've seen in here in people's diaries is a whole lotta calories with a whole lotta loss still going on. So if I offended anybody, I truly am sorry. I just feel like we get picked on so constantly by the SAD eaters! I do believe that we still need to eat less calories…

Can't fathom being stuck at such a low calorie intake. I'd kill somebody. I'm 5'9" and 219, and I generally take in between 1800 and 1900 calories a day and I'm averaging about a 1.5 lb loss a week. Never hungry and people don't know I'm "dieting" because I'm eating real, yummy foods. It's delightful.

I'm running and do Primal (Paleo with dairy, still low to moderate carb) and doing much better now than when I started running under the Standard American Diet (SAD). I know plenty of runners who do this diet. Great job PhilyPhresh! Guess that kind of success truly DOES make you qualified to hand out motivational stuff on…

I started C25K at about 230 and I'm down to about 219 right now. As long as you have good form (mid-foot strike under your body, short, quick steps) you'll be injury free. Most importantly though, don't do too much too soon.

Holy crap, Zella! LOL Thanks for all the feedback!

ANY time is a good time.
-
Thank you both. :-)

When I tried running in the past I did a heel strike and would get crazy shin splints so I'd quit. Never got past like week 3 of the C25K program. Now that I'm running with a mid-foot strike (and in Vibrams) I haven't had shin splints once, and my first 5K is next weekend.

Bump...Bueller...Bueller...? Or does nobody use any vitamins/supplements? That would be just fine with me! LOL
-
Yep, definitely don't blame you! Hope the month goes as smoothly as possible for you. :-)
-
HA! I'm embarrassed I missed that. Thank you. :-)

Welcome! You'll find this is an amazing group of people - lots of great resources! I wouldn't wait a month to try Primal - just jump in. I think you'll find the transition to be much easier than you would expect. :-)
