At my highest I was a size 24/264lbs and now am a size 16/191lbs. With dedication to improving your diet and determination to exercise a few days per week, you can do it!!!!

What was it that Rick stabbed in the stomach in what looked like the room the baby was born in? I was a little confused about that. It looked like a pregnant walker or something?

At 191lbs I weigh less now than I did in middle/high school. I can't even remember the last time I wore a size 14 (which is the size pants I am wearing today). I think it was probably around 5th or 6th grade. It makes me sad to think about it really. I wish I could go back there and tell that little girl to put down the…

I have noticed the same thing. I have been eating better and exercising since March and I have only been sick with a cold once whereas before I would have been sick numerous times.

Keep an eye on your potassium. I had the same type of feeling in my leg muscles a couple of times while jogging/walking. I was very weak. It felt like I couldn't even take another step. I told my doctor how I was feeling. She checked my potassium level and it was low. My problem was that I was on a blood pressure pill that…

I agree with others...it is probably fluid retention or something like that. It seems very unlikely to gain 4 pounds that rapidly. I will give you an example of how fluid can affect weight loss. I wanted to get off my blood pressure meds. The doc said ok, try it. I went off. I went from 195 to 202 in two weeks! The next…

I have regained 5 pounds as of today. :( I could feel myself getting pretty lax on watching what I eat lately and now it shows on the scale. Now its time to regroup and relose that 5 plus the other 45 I am aiming for. I will NOT let this little slip up get me down. :)

Good for you!! It does make you feel good when other people notice your hard work. I have been stopping by my doctors office twice a month for weigh in's since starting this site over 6 months ago so the nurses that work there have come to know me pretty well and I have told them about myfitnesspal. When I went in last…

Almost exactly what I told a coworker yesterday who complimented me on my weight loss but said she just didn't have time to exercise like I did. I told her how much better I feel physically and mentally when I exercise and that it is okay for me to be just a little selfish and take just 60 minutes per day 5 days per week…

Thanks for this thread. It made me laugh so hard at work I was crying. Pretty sure coworkers think I am insane lol :)

I don't have any medical statistics to quote but just some personal experience. My boyfriends 8 year old son loves running. He has competed in two 5K's now with his father. It doesn't seem to have any ill effects on him that we can see. :)

Oh man, you really hit home with the comment about weekends. I do so well during the week and the weekend hits and its like a mad dash to the nearest restaurant to fill up on all of the yummy stuff I haven't had all week :( I know I have to get this under control. Thanks for the post.

As the working mother of two very sports and socially active young men, I am constantly on the go and some days are nearly impossible to fit a workout in. I take those days as my rest days. I do feel guilty about it sometimes but I think in the end my body probably needs those rest days. I am careful not to let it happen…

I started smoking regularly in 1994 and smoked all the way up to 2008 when I quit. I haven't touched a cigarrette since because I know that if I did, I would be a smoker again. I couldn't just have one. I used the patch for a month or so but it raised my blood pressure so I took it off and went cold turkey after that. It…

Good topic :) I like working out with a buddy but its hard when you are at different fitness levels because either they are slowing you down or you are slowing them down. Most of the time I just work out by myself. Like others who have replies, I also like to listen to music when I work out.
