Hi everyone. In November 2019 I had an A1C of 6.9. My doc hasn't started me on any medication yet. I go back next month to see if I have been able to bring it down on my own through diet and exercise. I have been reading through the posts here and appreciate all of the information that is being given.

I quit smoking in 2008. That, along with beginning to eat better and exercise are the best decisions I have ever made in my life because those are decisions that will add time to my life and make the quality of living it better. I did not do them both at the same time. Quitting was hard, very hard but it was worth it! I…

I can apply just about every single word of your post to myself. Instead of sitting around and beating myself up for returning to "that not caring place" I am back at it too. I have already dropped a little bit of the weight I gained back last year and am determined to make a permanent, positive, healthy change in my life.…

I found this to be true on my elliptical. If I do a workout in the evening, I am able to burn more calories (according to the elliptical) in the same amount of time than if I do a workout in the morning. I thought maybe it was just because I am not really a morning person. I like to get up in just enough time to shower,…

Same here :( I am back on track again after falling off for several months and gaining back 30 pounds! Ugh! My friend says that there must be some trigger or something that happens to make me fall off track. I am still trying to figure out what, if anything, it is. Going to add you for mutual support :) Good luck!

"Rock Bottom" happened for me just this Monday when the doctor said my cholesterol was elevated again (I had it controlled through diet and exercise) and now I am borderline diabetic. All of this is after losing almost 70 pounds and then putting 30 of it right back on. :( I am back at it now though and I refuse to let…

My 16 y/o son loves the Red Velvet ones! He is so afraid they are going to stop making them because they are "limited edition" that he has me buy all of the remaining boxes every time we go to our local grocery store. Yesterday it was 4 boxes! Luckily for me and the local IGA that I don't go grocery shopping often. lol

Had a coupon to try the egg white mcmuffin at McDonalds for $1. It was pretty good and only 250 cals :)

Loose/sagging skin :( Yuck! It is better than having all of that loose/sagging skin filled with fat though!!!

I use these DVD's sometimes too when I have to work out at home. I think each DVD gives you a very good work out. As a matter of fact, I have trouble getting through an entire thing!! Hopefully as I do them more, I will get better at them. Good luck :)

I love this post! Thanks for sharing. My ultimate goal is not to be a certain weight or size, it is actually to be able eat and be physically active the way normal weight people eat and are active without obsessing about it ALL the time like I do now.

It sounds like a lot of fun! Go for it!! :) I wish we had things like that in my area or a zombie run or something like that but all I have ever seen is just the traditional 5K. I am looking to complete my first one of those this spring/summer though. Good luck!! :)

I used to drink Pepsi all day long, every day. I didn't drink anything else, no water, no tea, no juice, just pepsi. I gave it up almost a year ago and I don't even miss it anymore. :)

Thats awesome and the more you push yourself the farther you will go!! I had never in my life ran a full mile without stopping to walk until this year. Now I can run a little over 3 miles without stopping with the goal of doing a 10K (6.2 miles) this summer. Keep pushing yourself and never give up-anything is possible!!

That new shoes would make me run faster and jump higher. My parents used to say this every time I got a new pair and of course I would always do my best running and jumping to prove that it was true. I had to continue that tradition with my own kids. It is just too cute to watch them run and jump when they get new shoes.…

My advice is..do not wait! I started getting sick right after my first son was born. Pain in my stomach that radiated up into my chest and through my back. I went to the ER several different times for it and each time they told me it was indigestion or acid reflux or something like that. Finally after going to the ER for…

That is a good idea! I have never been big on shopping because it was always hard to find decent looking clothes in my size and trying things on reminded me of just how big I actually was. My friend who loves to shop would always want me to go shopping with her. One day we were trying on clothes and she said she could see…

My kids say that I have turned 29 seven times now because when I was turning 30 I told them that I refused so now the joke is that mom is turning 29 again on every birthday. :)

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing, I needed some motivation today!! :)

4.5oz fajita chicken on 2 cups romaine lettuce, 3oz baby carrots, 1 grab bag baked tostito scoops, 2 T. salsa. Yummy, pretty filling and low in calories!

73lbs lost total from my highest weight :) My profile pic is my before (a little less than 264lbs) and current (191lbs). I hope to have an after (150lbs) by this time next year. I have lost 58lbs of the 73lbs since joining myftnesspal in March 2012. :)

THIS!! I said this exact thing today as I ate my very small 2 oz portion of polish sausage and 1/2 cup of fried potatoes lol I was thinking of how much more I could eat if I was eating a salad with low cal dressing. Sometimes the bad stuff is worth it just not all the time :)
