Mussels, clams, calamari, anything that slithers down your throat that you can't chew. Liverwurst (which Mom LOVES ugh!) brussels sprouts...for beginners, anyway lol

Absolutely it is! I see what my folks, especially my dad, are going through as the result of their poor lifestyle choices and my strong family history of diabetes. My only hope is that I changed my ways in time to still prevent some of that! I just sent FR :)

^^^ I agree with her. And if you keep doing the same things day in and day out, your muscles will get used to it and stop responded. Trust me, I know..I've been there! I was doing squat challenges, too, but never 2 months in a row so that my butt doesn't stop responding to them. And doing 275 squats in one day is just…

How about doing things differently this time and NOT dieting? If you say you can, you're right! If you say you can't, you're still right! You're only as good as the limitations in your mind allow you to be! Sending FR now :)

Lift heavy! You need a well rounded routine, not just one type of exercise. It could be that your body is so used to it that it's not responding to the kickboxing anymore. You need to incorporate kickboxing into a well-rounded routine with weight lifting and flexibility training.

^^^ she hit the nail right on the head! This post was to help people who are struggling to reflect on what they think is stopping them and move forward from there!

Do you think it was easy for me to lose 70lbs back in 1987, when we didn't have these tools and knowledge available? I wanted it BAD ENOUGH that NOTHING was stopping me!

Lose the diet mentality and maybe you won't feel so restricted and feel the psychological need to binge. A few people have said this. So you binged. So what. Guilt and shame will get you NO closer to your goal! What's done is done. Get back on the horse RIGHT NOW and start fresh!

I'm in denial. I keep hoping my Dego half will suddenly come out with some olive skin! lol

I splurge occasionally, too. But never so much that I gotta hurry up and lose 20lbs for summer! If you're good 85% of the time and bad 15% of the time, there's no need to hurry up and get ready for summer...
-
Yeah, so did I since about age 12 but with Dad's basal cell carcinoma and some suspicious marks myself and no medical insurance, it's time for me to grow up and be responsible lol
-
It wasn't advice, it was on my mind :P lol

I lose 70lbs and have kept it off for the better part of 20 years and at least 500 cals of my day come from snacks. But they're not Fruit Roll Ups and chips, etc...they are things like a Pepper Jack cheese stick, greek yogurt, all natural PB, etc.. I eat 6-8 times per day and it's what helps to keep my metabolism so that…

It's been my experience that weight loss and MAINTAINING it for over 20 years is about 60% nutrition and 40% exercise. There is NO WAY I would have kept my weight off if I hadn't exercised! I've always had better results from doing structured programs, which are designed to maximize results, rather than just a hodge podge…

Come to the Jersey shore...girls don't care whether or not they SHOULD be down here lol. If you're comfortable and confident, go for it!! You've done some hard work...be proud of how far you've come and show it off!

Once a week when I was losing, same time, similar clothing, and I mark down my cycle b/c I tend to gain 3-5lbs just before Shark Week. I've been doing that since 1987, when I lost my weight. Post workout, too. I measure body fat once per month and measurements when I remember lol But since I'm maintaining, I don't really…

I agree it can be just as bad on here. The trick is to not engage in the trolls, trouble makers and drama queens. And watch out for the amateur experts lol
-
I probably eat just as much and I'm maintaining and even brought my body fat down to 18%!
-
That's why I don't spend too much time in the forums lol I'm a Jersey girl, if I wanted people to be mean and sarcastic to me, I would just go out lol

Hey Marie! Sending FR now :)

Hi! i totally understand how you feel. I got heavy in about 2nd grade and lost the weight when I was 15. In 8th grade I was 192lbs with a BP of 200/120. You can do this! One baby step at a time! Sending FR now :)

I stopped drinking alcohol almost 13 years ago for reasons other than fitness and there's NO looking back for me! It has been much easier to get results and step up my fitness without all that beer in the equation. I used to drink like a fish lol
