FINALLY! I watched GH growing up! lol

I never counted cals to lose weight in 1987. I regained some of it in 1996 b/c of a failed pregnancy and my failure to exercise consistently. I lost it again in 1996 and have kept it off since and have been exercising since! Even through my heavy drinking days, my not so healthy days, but I still worked out and still kept…

I'm 5'7, 135 and maintain around 2000 cal on workout days. I def think 1200 is too low for someone our height, and eventually it would have hindered your progress b/c you would not be giving your body enough fuel to sustain the changes you're making through exercise! Give it a month and see what happens!

Hahaha! You got that right! lol I've been sober for 13 years, and it never seemed to bother guys that I don't drink. That being said, I tend to attract all the raging still active alcoholics lol. People look at me funny when I tell them I don't drink and I'm 41! lol Find new friends, girl!

I'm 5'7 and 135. Would you call me fat? Why do you wanna go so low?
-
I agree to a point, but I also know that there is no possible way I would have maintained my weight loss for over 20 years without exercise. So, sure, you can lose weight without exercise. But if you wanna lose fat, look good, and KEEP THAT WEIGHT OFF for a lifetime, you gotta move!

Sending FR now :)

It's slow season. MFP will once again be flooded after the holidays..kinda like the gyms!

Unfortunately, if you consumed that low, your chances of maintaining while eating what you should be eating, which is at least 1500cals for your height, may be tough. I would increase slowly, and if you find that you won't "let" yourself eat over 1000 cals, seek help. That isn't healthy or normal!

I"m a school bus driver. When I was training and brand new, I had packed my healthy lunch of a sandwich on whole grain bread with dark chocolate and water bottles and a few of the veteran drivers made fun of me and said, "Do you drink milk when you go to the bar, too?" But I look at them, and look at myself, and they can…

I lost my 70lbs over 20 years ago...the last "diet" I did was BEFORE I lost that weight. I lost the weight by portion control and activity, and that's how I've kept it off since 1987.

I don't sit here and belittle anybody who eats 1200 cals per day. But when they start complaining in the forums and on their statuses that they are gaining or not seeing the body composition changes they want to see, and I see them doing vigorous exercise and they are over 5'2, I tell them that they need to eat more.…

I didn't read the article but let me tell you about my odds: 1. I was obese as a kid. 2. I come from a long line of obesity, including most of my aunts, uncle, my dad was an obese child, my brother was an obese child and still is obese. At least 2/3 of my family is obese. 3. I was raised on slop and was very sedentary as a…

Measurements, body fat and how my clothes fit.

I did..back in 1987. Kept it off by cutting portions and exercising. BUT, I have a better body now at 40 than when I did at 15 when I lost my weight because I eat much better these days. Much better results from eating better and I am capable of doing more physically than I was when I was 15!

Love this post! Skinnytaste.com has a lot of recipes that are loaded with veggies!

What's your height and weight? I"m thinking you may be eating too little..

A disgrace!!

Carbs are NOT the enemy! Fad diets are the enemy! I eat 40% carbs everyday and have 18% body fat at 40 yrs old. AND I am formerly obese! The proof is in my pics!
