Thank you! That's been my experience as well :)

They vary, to be honest. I have a HRM chest strap with my Garmin 305, and also one with my Polar F6. The Garmin is always higher...WAY higher, to the tune of 1,000 extra calories. Garmin is known for being high on the caloric expenditure estimation. Polar is the industry standard for accuracy in HRM-based calorie tracking.

Mine is my engagement ring and wedding band. I'm getting married in September and this is the only way I get to see my wedding band until then. :)

Ah, now see? I've got a garmin as well (a garmin 305 with cadence sensor). The garmin is RIDICULOUS compared to the Polar. I did the same experiment with Polar and Garmin when I first got the Polar and was shocked to see that the Garmin reported on average, more than 1,000 calories than the Polar reported. Both had my…

heck ya i can see a difference! they say one of the hardest parts of weight loss is adjusting your mind to see what's really in the mirror, rather than what's been there for so long. You need to post these comparison pics all over your house so you can see the difference and start thinking of yourself in this new body,…

Wow! That's something else!

Hi! Yes, the fit test was built into my Polar. It's an F6. When I'm actually working out and taking care of myself (admittedly that hasn't been going on for quite some time), I run it once a month or so. Sadly, a couple years ago, I was "elite". Now it just throws a frown up on the screen and calls me a fattie. LMAO

I have to agree, I prefer Fage over the others because it is not quite as tangy. Chobani, I absolutely have to add something, like vanilla and a sweetener, to cut the tang to an acceptable level. Fage is just thick creamy goodness. Mmm!

Chest strap. Do they make HRMs that go on the wrist? I'd never seen one!
-
Sucks....I'll call them tomorrow. I've poked around on the web and have found multiple resources advising to wear it on the thigh, about 2" above the back of my knee. We shall see. The experiments shall continue! :) Thanks guys!

ps...its good to know my polar is probably the most accurate....it's what i've been using the longest. :D
-
"it uses temperature, galvanic skin response (sweat) and motion sensors to estimate how many calories you're burning " That's interesting to know, and now that I look back over my activity manager, I see that it doesn't log HR at all. I wonder if I knew that at one point and just forgot it while the BB was hiding out lost…

I think you are dead on. My fiance was telling me tonight that because the BB has a cadence sensor for logging your steps each day, that perhaps the algorithm is messed up when cycling because you aren't bouncing all over the place, setting off the cadence sensor. It's just odd...even if the lack of cadence is throwing it…

Yes, my age, weight, height, resting heart rate, sex, all that stuff is loaded into my Polar. Mine even does a fitness test to get an idea of your V02 Max.
-
They had damn well better not tell me this. For what this thing costs, in addition to the $7 a month subscription fee, I want something that's accurate. BB is supposed to be the MOST accurate calorie tracker out there for consumer use. >=o(

Not sure what you did to them, but it's probably just your internet cache messing with you. LOL I did the same thing once and drove myself nuts trying to figure out how and why the before-crop pic was still showing up. Cleared my internet cache and noticed it was just me seeing the pre-edit pic, LOL! Nice job, by the way!…

the breads at Subway have a lot of protein in them. Just the bread from a 6" sub has about 10g of protein in it. Load it up with some veggies for a meal :) What is your disorder? I want to google and read about it :)

I've been reading a ton about the hormone surges that happen when you eat certain things, like carbs. Reading and learning about how our bodies work is kind of an addiction for me. The hard part is making the transition from knowledge to lifestyle. I *know* that there are chemical reasons why when I bake a batch of awesome…

LOL When I posted about playing dodgeball, I meant trying to dodge the weight gain that always seems to happen after I lose weight. I'm a cyclist, not a dodgeball person. hehehe :D I agree with the shopping method where you stick to the perimeter of the grocery store. It's amazing how much garbage they pack in those…

http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/292236 looks like caster sugar is confectioner's sugar. the white, powdery stuff http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biscuit biscuit looks like a graham cracker. :) ps, i made one of these last night following the recipe i posted except for two changes: instead of regular gelatin, i used sugar…

yay for BF is right. With my son, I was back to my pre-preg weight in 3 weeks. With my daughter, three DAYS. Jeez. Anyone looking for a wetnurse? LMFAO!!

Sounds to me that you are doing the right thing with the clean eating, and you're obviously getting enough calories if your milk supply is awesome. I say, keep up the good work and enjoy the post-baby quick weight loss. Pass some of that mojo over to me, Mine ran out years ago (lol kids are 6 and 7 years old, lmao)

The only yoga I've ever done was a couple crummy dvds at home and they were boring as all getout. I didn't even want to do the poses because it just seemed 'stupid'. The hot yoga class, on the other hand, was an entirely different creature. The heat in there limbers you up naturally, so you are able to bend and flex with…

Exactly! It's a huge challenge, and it's oh so gratifying when the class is over. It's crazy how one minute you're like oh god i can't make it, class only started and im suffering so bad, and the next minute you're like, hell, only 10 minutes left?? I guess, just like with the hydration topic related back to my cycling,…
-
Nah, a little sweat never killed anyone. You're supposed to hydrate WELL before and after, as well as replenish your electrolytes. I came home 4# lighter than when I left, which is right on par with when I go out for long bike rides. The cool part is, after a bike ride, I retain 4-6# of water for about 5 days. This…

LOL I'm guessing you arent a 6' tall 200# chick like me tho :(
