• Mine looked good when I waited tables... speed walking while carrying things? I don't want to wait tables again, but I would like those legs back...
• Ditto this... peeing standing up would be SUPER convenient. Public bathrooms are gross. Although I have been known to bemoan the fact that my husband can lose a ton a weight by eating "salads" for lunch (swimming in creamy dressing with all the toppings) or by giving up sodas. Or, by accident, when I start eating healthily…

• I log them, but I don't weigh or measure the lower cal veggies as religiously as I do meat, dairy, ect. I will weigh a potato or sweet potato since they are higher cal.
• I have 13 pounds to go officially, but I've been contemplating another 5 to get squarely inside the healthy BMI... so 18? Close enough...
• I had given up, too. I assumed that my yo-yo and starving had messed me up so bad that I was destined to hold on to weight. I started MFP with a - we'll see, attitude, expecting it not to work... but it did.
• I find it really interesting that I am getting bashed when the OP says he wants to feed the skinny girls... but ok. I will stand by the fact that I truly believe the likelihood of the girl on the left engaging in a healthy lifestyle is slim.... but I am a grown woman fully capable of expressing my opinions. I know what it…
• There are naturally thin women, I have seen many, befriended many, and I am related to many - and none of them had every rib naturally show. There is nothing wrong with being thin, she has no muscles, she looks frail. It would be exceedingly rare for that to naturally occur with normal or healthy amounts of activity and a…
• Bumping this --- for more people to read!
•
Okay, I have a simple solution to every woman's clothing problems because that sounds like a massive pain in the *kitten*. Just be naked. So much simpler.
(Don't know why above didn't go into the quote box.... oh well) I have considered that when I go jeans shopping. Either that, or living in my pajamas.
• I tend towards the girl on the right, I like to EAT and WORK and PLAY and LIVE, and the girl on the left doesn't look like she does a lot of those things, Yesterday I used a pick axe to remove roots from my garden, dug 4 ft. deep holes and planted 7 hydrangea, with more work/exercise today... So, I want to be the girl on…
• Height does make a difference, in that, a tall person looks thinner in a size than a short person. There is also body shape to consider. Women's hips vary quite a bit in width. Mine are wide, so at an 8, my hip bones are visible, any smaller than that, and I may not lose many sizes, by my waist gets smaller.... so pants at…
• Is it the exact flavor you would pick if you could have any cupcake in the world at that moment? No? Why not wait and have a PERFECT cupcake, and share it with someone. Or... how do you know it is FRESH? Cupcakes are best really FRESH.... This is the conversation I have with myself when we have them at work.
• I would look like Catherine Zeta Jones (adjusted for age, she is older than me, and I don't want to look older). I am pretty happy with my looks, though, but GOOD GRACIOUS she's pretty. As for being with someone, I'm honestly happy with my husband... but I DO like the tall, dark, handsome, so Tom Welling was my crush in my…
• If you use an Iphone, you can look at a bar graph of calories, and it shows a shadowy one with your weekly average. If I have a "BAD" day, I try to make sure my WEEK turns out ok... so I might go over 400 cals one day, but be under 50, 70, 30, 100, etc., and even it out for the week. Some days I work out a lot, sometimes…
• Perfection is a matter of opinion, anyway. What I think is perfect, you or anyone else may not... however, if I could be MY version of perfect? Maybe, but then again, I might be really egotistical.
• Making homemade bread and eating large slices of it (slathered with butter) with dinner regularly. Now it's a treat.
• I joined a CSA, so I get (organic, free range) meat, eggs and raw dairy from that. They also include some veggies, nut butters and homemade whole wheat pasta. SO, I supplement that by buying yogurt, ice cream, fruit, other veggies (mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber, frozen veggies of all sorts) (they have had a lot of…
• Be careful. These things need to be her decisions, not yours. If she is a people pleaser, be careful to balance praise for fitness accomplishments with praise for other accomplishments. I was JUST like your daughter, and even though my parents were super supportive, my mom was overweight, they told me I was beautiful at…
• I do, slightly, now. I did not in the past when I weighed less.I see no reason why this would not (eventually) return to normal. It may take a while for the skin to shrink back, but I have pretty elastic skin, heals well, etc., so I am hoping it will spring back eventually.
• I am TTC. I also have some rather unique issues that go with it.
• Great! It's good to see like-minded folks on here. This site is great, but it gets easy to start nit-picking yourself, or comparing yourself to others who eat better, work out more or have a lower weight goal! Thanks for this great reminder.
• I always put in the low... sometimes it takes a week or more to see another low. However, I do this with the knowledge that math tells me those other higher weights aren't true gain - I log EVERYTHING, so there is no way I truly gained 3 lbs - it's salt, water retention or (TMI, sorry) the fact that I haven't gone to the…
• I try to eat organic dairy. So, I consider organic, full fat cottage cheese clean (and it tastes better!) However, the grocery store that HAS organic cottage cheese is 40 minutes away and I go there once a month or so, so I don't have it all the time. It may be hypocritical, but I eat Fage yogurt even though it isn't…
• Interesting. My plateau busted on a beach vacation. I didn't go over cals, but I walked on the beach a lot, logged it as exercise and ate ALL of my cals - which was a lot more than what I usually eat. After 2 weeks of no loss, no gain, I had lost .5 lb... I was sort of mystified on HOW exactly this happened... and now it…
• I think it IS harder, then again, my own abuse of my metabolism might be why. In my late teens and early 20s, I would starve to fit into a skirt or outfit for a certain event. I would not eat all day then eat only a basket of french fries (regularly). I lost and gained weight quickly and frequently. Eventually the…
• YES. But I make sure it fits into my calories, and it's about once a week or once every other week.
• This. I got tired of feeling defeated, and of feeling guilty on occasions when I should have been filled with joy (holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, date nights). No more guilt, just choices!
• If there is something I really want, I have it, occasionally and in logical portions (Ghiradelli squares, pizza purchased by the slice, single serving bag of kettle chips, Magnum mini icecream). If you (or I) are going to do this for the rest of our lives, there needs to be some leeway. However, I rarely go over my…
• BUT you are so pretty, so it's okay (whenever the typical female weight rant comes up). Or that bathing suit/dress/jeans is SO SLIMMING.
