  • You gotta do it cold turkey. You won't crave them as much if you stop eating junk for about a week. I used to crave sugar and fatty foods, including fast food, and someone on here suggested quitting all of it cold turkey and only eating lean, healthy food for a week, and I was really surprised when it worked! I don't crave…
  • My kids are grown, but when they were babies, I worked out to the early morning (5 and 6 am) exercise shows on TV. Back then, late 80's, not too many people bought exercise tapes, they were in VHS form, and you didn't really need to, because they were on TV. I worked out before the kids woke up.
  • You have to be exaggerating. There can't be THAT many things wrong with PT's at your gym. The PT's at my gym don't do the actual workouts, they teach their clients and push and motivate them and help them with their diet. They are basically sales people, so they have to look nice. Although they don't wear heels and such,…
  • I just starve myself all day and allow for it.
  • I used to be a terrible binge eater. There is only one thing that helped me stop. Classes at the gym. I get up early and take the 6am classes at the gym monday thru friday. They last an hour, and let me tell you they will work you hard, even if you think you exercise now, once you take a cardio class or bodypump class or…
  • I look like complete and total crap at the gym I go at six am and I have my hair pulled back with a million barrettes stuck everywhere because my hair is so many different lengths it takes them all to keep little wispies out of my face. I also wear glasses in the morning and a baggy shirt over my spandex. It's funny…
  • For me, quitting sweets cold turkey did the trick. It took about a week of no sweets whatsoever, and now I don't crave them anymore. Not one little bit. So although it may be hard, try it for a week and you may be surprised at how you won't crave sweets anymore. BTW, gummy bears were my absolute biggest weakness! The ones…
  • It's not bulimia at all.
  • It's not bulimia. Bulimia is when you make yourself thrown up after eating. It doesn't sound like any kind of real E.D. to me. Many people do this. As long as she is getting proper nutrition overall, like on average, then I wouldn't worry about it.
  • Hi hon I am a hairstylist and you can get this look with with a straightening iron. Sounds funny, doesn't it, since it is a bit wavy, but you can. There are a lot of tutorials on youtube. Here is one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_fo0M_slb0&feature=endscreen&NR=1 Just put in "how to curl hair with a straightener"
  • Of course you are right. But unfortunately, on the internet, it happens. It's a cruel place sometimes, kind of like the playground in elementary school. A place that is meant for fun, but is sometimes overrun by bullies. I hope your message gets across.
  • I love protein shakes! A scoop of why protein with half a banana and some fruity yogurt and skim milk and I'm in paradise!
  • You are definitely overreacting. You must be patient for this to work. I went crazy exercising six days a week and eating under goal and did not lose ONE pound in my whole first MONTH! But I kept at it and have now lost ten pounds and a bunch of inches. Don't even worry about the scale for a month or so. Take measurements…
  • Japanese food (and Thai) are my biggest weaknesses! You are lucky because you will be getting it authentic. Japanese food in the USA is not like the real deal. It is very healthy, so I think you will do great.
  • What a wonderful and enlightening post! I started my journey in Janurary and the weight is coming off slowly, but inches are coming off much quicker! I eat within my calorie allotment and eat exercise calories. This is the best way even though it takes longer.
  • I have tried silly diets like this one and others and the only one that works is just eating low calorie, healthy food and exercising like crazy! I have been exercising since Jan 2012 at the gym and I am so much more toned, and have lost ten pounds and six inches off of waist and hips. It takes time, but it is something…
  • Wow! What a difference! You look so much more toned! Good for you, you must feel great!
  • This always happens to me. We have the biggest turnover at our McD's in the world it seems, because everyone is in training all the time. I hate to get some poor kid in trouble who probably just started his/her first job, so I dunno, if I went back, I would just be very calm and sweet about it explaining what happened but…
  • All of us with no "real" profile pics would have to show our faces!
  • What kinds of foods do you like? Salad and rice don't really sound that great to me! Eat what you like, just use common sense and leave out the butter, cream, fats etc. If you find yourself falling back to fast food, try the diet menus. They all have lo cal options now thanks to the dude who sued McD's for him being fat!…
  • You say that your self consciousness was a key factor in the failing of your relationship. You say this right after saying that it wasn't your fault. I hope you don't think that somehow this chain reaction, starting with you being self conscious, then the breakup, then you saying no to getting back together, made him do…
  • OMG, you guys are all making me cry. There is hope. I work so incredibly hard and I have only lost ten pounds in two months. I want results like you all. Now I know I will lose my twenty pounds for sure. Thank you all.
  • Yes, you MUST get a food scale to succeed on MFP! Estimations are not accurate. I got a cheap one at walmart for four bucks. It is a lifesaver, because when you hit that button about completing this entry, you know that everything you put in is accurate.
  • My kids are great arists, but they are busy with college, etc, and don't have time. My son draws cartoons and my daughter draws, er... anything, animals, people, she has done murals for pay. But she is in her last year of college and is very busy. I hope you find someone. Try craigslist.
  • I believe you can still exercise. Your hip is only one part of your body. Lift weights while sitting or laying back. Ask your doctor about exercises you can do. Life without exercise is very depressing, especially with an injury.
  • I weigh every day. I know that I wouldn't be able to stick to only once a week. So what I do is make it only count on Saturdays. So if on Monday it is up a pound or two, I don't count it, I just concentrate on the rest of the week and count it on Sat. That way, I am not so upset at the fluctuations.
  • I love big muscles. That is all.
  • I am sorry to break it to you, but you will just have to stop. Just stop. Don't get the junk. Don't do it. Just don't. If you do, you will stay fat. You just will. So what do you want more? The food or the fat? Go to the gym if you can and work out hard. That will help with your appetite. It did me.
  • I think your vacay is what ruined it for you. Did you not have access to a computer? You should still have logged unless you didn't have access. So your body got used to the "new" way of eating (the vacation way) and wants to eat all the time. You are going to have to kick start it back into health mode. Exercising helps…
