If we don't make the bed, our dog tucks herself in as soon as we leave. I can tell when my husband leaves without pulling up the covers because there is a 65 lb pit bull nestled under the covers with her head on the pillow when I get home.

Stir a Tablespoon of brown sugar into 1 cup cut strawberries, let sit for a minute then pour over cooked oatmeal. The sugary strawberry-ness sinks down into the oatmeal, it tastes like a yummy fruit filled pastry (okay not a pastry but CLOSE!), and you get 2 cups fruit with it.

I have wondered this myself, I struggle with the same behavior. From a mental health point of view I think the important question is how much does the behavior impair your functioning, and what purpose is that food serving - clearly not nutrition/fuel because chocolate chips are empty calories and no one needs a whole bag…

One of my favorites is a piece of toast - even dry it is satisfying because it is warm and filling, but add a little butter, jam, nut butter, or even fresh fruit/veggies and it is a warm mini-sandwich!

Oh man, I SO sympathize. Quitnet has been useful for me in the past, but I believe that I personally need about a dozen simultaneous strategies. Quitnet + quitting buddy + friend to call + lozenges + exercise.... etc...

Step aerobics were my solution to this very issue.
