I didn't eat too bad and tried to log everything the best I could but I drank WAY too much and ended up gaining 2 pounds, lost one back already though and should be back to my previous low in another day or two. I'm planning on another similar "plateau" around Christmas. I think these mini breaks from losing weight…

Very interesting link, thanks for sharing! Helpful in confirming some of my goals. I think the BMI discussion is interesting. In general, I think it is a helpful tool but of course for some people with high LBM it is not realistic. However, I think it is often used as an excuse for many people.

The Kitchen Safe's were about $50 if I remember right. You can order them on Amazon.

This is hilarious, I JUST watched that episode! I'm not planning on buying one, but it's a pretty neat idea. Hopefully they can figure out how to get the price down some.

I do have a bicycle.

How do you use a heart rate monitor to estimate calories burned exercising? I have a bluetooth HRM that I use along with the mapmyrun app, but lets say I just do strength training, how can I use a heart rate monitor to estimate calories burned? Is it possible?
-
Awesome. I'll look into it again in a few months when I start running outside again!

MelissaPhipps, Congratulations on reaching your goal and your success in maintenance land. Was it hard to go from 1400 calories to 2000? Did you have an initial gain when you bumped up your calories? How did you determine your maintenance calories, trial and error?
-
lcphipps, what an accomplishment. You sound like a very strong person. Congrats on the weight loss and the lifestyle changes. If I can be of any help, feel free to add me as a friend.

13 years? You are incredible!
-
Unbelievable!

Great advice! I really wish I had thought of it this way the first time, but I think I am building up some good ideas to be successful and maintaining a healthy weight this time around.
-
This makes a lot of sense, thanks for clearing things up for me!
-
Thanks!

Great job on reaching and maintaining at your goal since April! I'm more than a little embarrassed that I threw away all the hard work I put in to reach my goal the first time, so I just want to be prepared so that it doesn't happen again this time. Last time, I remember feeling so proud of the accomplishment, but I also…

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about making your average daily calorie goals on MFP? Do you mean just moving enough to hit your TDEE estimate on MFP?
-
Thanks for the responses, very much appreciated!

Some ideas I have looking forward: 1. Continue counting for a couple of months at least until I become more confident with eyeballing/estimating calories and weight continues to be stable within a couple of pounds. 2. Continue to weigh in at least weekly and ensure weight does not fluctuate by more than 4 pounds. If it…

Not sure if it's normal, but I've been doing similar (except burning 600-700 calories a day instead of 900) and I've yet to feel hungry and the weight has been falling off pretty fast.
-
Glad you asked this question. I'm consistently way over goal for sodium but it has not affected weight loss at all.

My wife is just getting started and could definitely use some new friends on here. Please feel free to add "sanneh". Thanks!

I definitely know where you're coming from. A few years ago I lost 55 pounds and reached my goal weight. I then kept it off for a few months before falling off the wagon. I gained 40 pounds back and now am finally back in the groove on my way back to my goal weight again. It stinks losing all the progress that we've made…

Thanks all for the advice!
-
I also highly recommend the one. I have had about 5 pretty bad scares about losing my fitbit one, but now that I've gotten into a routine, I don't go anywhere without it.
-
Yes, please feel free to add me and I'll do my best to provide support and advice, I could use some as well. I already have had a major success on MFP a few years ago but unfortunately I didn't have a successful maintenance and I'm ready to get back to where I was before!

I'm going to join again. My goal last month was 60 miles and I hit 80, but I've been sick the last couple of weeks. I'm still going to try to set a goal for 80 miles and we'll see what happens. Good luck everyone!
-
Unreal, 7 miles today and now over 80 for the month! (Original goal was 60).
-
Congratulations!! Awesome work and a great story!
-
Another 5 miles this morning!
-
Another 3.1 miles done. Crushing this goal!
