  • If you hire a personal trainer, I think it's expected for them to ask a similar question. Women (and moms, especially) bash each other far too often. That said, the inflammatory reaction to this has made this quite visible. Shock and awe marketing.
  • It might have been less offensive if she said, "I make no excuses" instead of, "What's YOUR excuse?". People don't tend to appreciate it when you point out their flaws. Especially if you appear flawless. I know this woman who is 5'10" and 130 who constantly talks about how fat her butt is. I thought she was just insecure…
  • Come over to my house. It will give me a good excuse to use the full gym we built in the third bay of our garage. I'm paleo (formerly low carb looking into clean eating) and love my fitbit- I park further away if I have it on. Plus, I found some awesome HIIT workouts for the pool. Best ever!

  • Just started ZWOW today. I did the 50th workout. We'll see if I can crawl out of bed tomorrow. ;)
  • Honey and blueberries/strawberries/raspberries. Maybe some granola or flaxseeds for crunch.
  • Thanks so much for this! I've been making pizza on portobello mushrooms or just eating the toppings. I'll have to try this- looks good.

  • I know how you feel, Bailey. I haven't done a real workout in a while. I need to just pick up some dumbbells and get moving! After I do that, pushing play is much easier. Good luck! Linda, thanks for the pep talk. You're right- we can do this! I'm glad everyone seems to be doing better. Happy Friday! :flowerforyou:
  • My husband recently made the best shrimp stir fry with coconut oil, a little soy sauce, and sesame seeds. Delicious!
  • Linda, that's great! Keep up the good work. :) About the pork rinds... I don't mind the big, fluffy ones, but the more dense, super crunchy ones seem to taste fishy to me for some reason. Not sure what's going on there. For a crunchy snack, or something to put dip on, I like the Parmesan Crisps by Kitchen Table Bakers. I…
  • I know a woman 2" taller than me that weighs the same who is always talking about how fat she is. I'm sure she isn't trying to tell me I'm even FATTER than her, she's just being insecure. Plus, I'd hate to be as thin as her and feel bad about my weight.
  • Wasabi peas are a good snack- tasty, crunchy and spicy!
  • Thanks, Linda. I had the surgery a couple of years ago and have graduated from "kneehab". :D They used part of my own hamstring for the "new" acl, so my right hamstring is still much weaker. I'll definitely take it easy. I do not pivot- no way, no how. That's how it tore in the first place, so I just will not do it. Even…
  • Bailey- I'm glad I reminded you. I just realized it was in there- along with canned salmon and clams. Yum. I will be making some seafood stuffed mushrooms soon!
  • Hi everyone! I gained a few pounds over the weekend, but I'm using the extra weight to fuel some killer workouts this week. Yesterday was cleaning day. I washed, dried and put away 3 loads of laundry, stripped sheets off 4 beds, washed, dried and put them back, did 2 loads of dishes, swept, mopped, cleaned bathrooms, went…
  • Me, too. I wear a strapless with underwire under mine. Half the women at our gym have significantly enhanced breasts- I need all the help I can get!
  • Hi everyone, I'm getting serious about low carb again. I tried clean eating, but found that I just ate too many calories. I'd much prefer to cut carbs than fat. I crave savory foods over sweets, anyway. Last year, I lost 20 lbs. by cutting carbs to 20g/day. Over the holidays, I gained 15 of those right back (pumpkin pie…
  • I love PB2! I just tried it mixed with plain water. Someone else said the texture wasn't great for them, but it worked for me. I can't wait to try it in a smoothie! I got the regular PB2 and the chocolate.

  • I add whole golden flax seeds to scrambled eggs, salads, cereal, lots of things... usually at least once a day. Although they say that ground flax is the only way to get the omegas, I tend to chew really well when I add it- to try to get the omega benefit. That encourages me to eat more slowly, and I think it helps me eat…
  • You're right- I guess the better question is what do you do to feel like you're gaining muscle in your quads. I think I'll try changing it up more often. For a while, I was doing the same machines at the gym and the same step up/reverse lunge. I should get KenpoX out again! I just found my ankle weights today. I haven't…
  • I second Amazing Grace by Philosophy. It's not cheap, but it smells like heaven and makes my arms and legs look better instantly. http://www.amazon.com/Philosophy-Grace-Firming-Emulsion-Ounces/dp/B001KYOCTK/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1334341705&sr=1-1
  • I agree. I'd focus on strength for now. After I lost weight, my skin took a little time (ahem, months) to tighten back up- especially in the thighs, tummy and back of arms. Good luck!
  • Also, Kim's Magic Pop. I bought the cinnamon flavor kind. I think I'll try it with some unsweetened apple sauce. http://www.deliceglobal.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=76&Itemid=150
  • Kale chips. I made this strange, but tasty treat for the first time about a week ago. I just bought a giant bag of kale this morning- can't get enough! They are crunchy, but melt in your mouth. They taste a little like pumpkin seeds. Last night, I added white wine vinegar and sea salt. Delicious! The only issue is that…
  • Day 4 of Level 1: It went well. I upped my weight to 8 on some of the moves (not lateral raises!) and did some different cardio moves for variety. Apparently, I'm completely bonkers, though, because later in the day I decided to start Killer Buns & Thighs Level 1. Ooch! I will be sure to take Alleve before bed tonight and…

  • I can't stand it. On the weekends, my husband likes to lie in bed (still in pj's at noon) and watch full movies and flipping through sports- often falls asleep while doing so. I just grumble at him and move on to the next thing that needs to be done (fence repair, weed pulling, rose sniffing, etc.). His routine feels very…
  • Day 3 of Level 1: Yesterday, I told myself I'd take a rest day since I did day 1 and 2 back to back. Then, I got out the stair stepper and did 30 minutes of that. Today, I told myself I'd take a rest day because I could barely walk when I tumbled out of bed this morning. Then, after dropping the kids off at school and…

  • Hmmm. Wondering if I should do a P90X workout in between days (focusing on whatever part isn't screaming sore). I mean, I payed enough for the dang thing! :P It seems like doing the same thing for 10 days doesn't leave enough time for muscles to heal/build. I just don't want to lose momentum on the 30 day thing. I get…

  • Just finished day 2 of level 1. Whew! I may need an advil tomorrow before my day 3 workout. :P I'm glad I got through today, though. I was thinking about just walking, but pushed through instead. Time for a good stretch!
