  • I hear ya. We are all fighting our own battles. I agree with anbrdr tho - only compete with yourself. I feel that way a lot now. I look at my old pix and i'm like EW! and I workout harder that night lol. One thing I will say about having VGS - what works best for me is no carbs, no sugar, no caffeine and no alcohol (for…
  • down 62lbs. still a ways to go but feeling good. working hard.
  • i'm losing prolly 70-90lbs and if i can afford it i will do plastic surgery in a heart beat. i went thru a lot of trouble, cost and sacrifice to do this and i'll continue to go as far as i need to to get the body of my dreams or close to it. i'm thinking arms, tummy tuck and possibly lower body depending on how my…
  • if you can't do it on your own consistently. go to your doctor and get some help. it's a hard thing to do. don't be afraid to seek out professional help.
  • i hear you. my diet is good and clean. as evidenced by my current and continued success. but i want to tighten and shape which is why im looking to add lifting. i have other more specific goals (i'm a tennis player, i'm over 40, i have a tricky knee) but i'm looking to start somewhere. thanks for the tips.
  • ya i was thinking i'm going to have to brave it and get my butt to doing squats again (ugh). i use my home gym so guess i'm going to have to get a barbell to supplement. i like full body 3x a week. that works for me then i can throw in cardio couple times a week if i'm able
  • thank you guys. i only said that trainer thing to weed out the looky loos and get serious answers. i am thinking 3 days weights 2 days cardio. when i was fit i was into the whole chest and tris, back and bis, 3 days on 2 days off thing but i dont think that hit my core and legs enough. i will look into these tips.
  • only half way to goal but thought i'd jump in. down 40lbs. looking for another 40 or so. everyone looks great!
  • anything that ends with "I'd like to *kitten*" is not a compliment. sorry.
  • thanks guys. we got this. im still in the learning phase. like today i found out ice cream is BAD. very BAD. so there's that lol.
  • hi angela (and karla) i had sleeve on oct 7th. i'm down 21lbs. it's been and up and down journey for me ( i still get sick a lot) but it's cuz i'm stubborn and i push myself sometimes. still im happy with it. i'm at a bit of a stall right now but tightening up my diet and starting on treadmill this week :)
  • come over to bariatricpal.com. There are lots of us there. i'm only 5 weeks post op but there are lots of veterans on there too. :)
  • thank you for posting. i'm almost 4 weeks post op and if anyone says surgery is the "easy way out" they have no idea what they are talking about. i thro up at least twice a week and feel sick a lot AND i still have to make good eating choices in order for this to work. it's nice to see someone that has been successful (tho…
  • i agree with you asyrinsgirl. It's not easy and yes there are some complications but this is the safest weight loss surgery out there. If this is someone's opinion it just means they are not in a desperate enough situation to do something like this. We were. She's prolly some 20 year old 130lb girl lol
  • noooo not at all. you still choose what you put in your mouth. but where it does help you is you don't really get hungry anymore. PLUS you can't really over eat. I have once since my sleeve (just trying to get used to everything) and i threw it up. The not getting hungry is the thing that helps but all the decisions are…
  • ps my whole surgery experience is on bariatricpal - :)
  • hey hey. i got sleeved oct 7th. im down 18lbs in 19 days. the post op diet sucks *kitten* but then it's not too bad. the gas pain is the worst part. i had no pre-op diet. you don't get hungry at all but you really have to learn to eat a different way. but not getting hungry helps a lot. best of luck to you!
  • i just got sleeved october 7th. we can buddy up if you want. i'm also on bariatric pal :)
  • Ok here is my problem with this. I am having the same situation. I've lost the same damn 5lbs over and over again because I'm losing it during the week then gaining it back on the weekends. My problem is I'm on these low carb plans (Medifast/TSFL) so if i go off-plan it takes like 3 days to get back into "fat burn" mode so…
