  • Yes, strength training is very important. Like you, I have been pretty much focused on cardio for a long time now (I'm a runner). But I am about to start adding some strength training to my routine to give myself an extra boost and to tighten stuff up!

  • Do you eat back your exercise calories? With that much exercise you might not be getting enough calories and actually slowing your metabolism down. I know it sounds weird but you have to eat to lose.

I just checked my running group and we are due for 10 miles that day. I've never gone that distance before so I should probably stick with them. Hope you have fun though!

  • Nike Lunarglide +. LOVE those shoes. I have to get them in men's size because I have wide feet, but they are so comfortable and light, while providing stability at the same time.

  • I think cookies are really nice because you put the effort in to make them. Another idea: If you know of a place, you could also get her a gift certificate an inexpensive massage or a mani/pedi, with a note that says something like "You are always taking care of everyone else, now it's your turn to be pampered!"
