Walking for a great cause! Suicide Prevention Walk!
Good morning! Nearly 13 years ago, when I was 9 years old, my dad committed suicide. 3 years ago, as I waited for my drink at Starbucks, I just happened to notice a flyer for a suicide prevention walk. Every year since then, I have walked in memory of my dad and to help bring the issues of mental illness, depression, and…

Hint: Lettuce!
I know personally that when I used to think of lettuce, I thought "blah" or "yuck". It was really hard to get me to eat a salad. But now, I have found that it can be a GREAT substitute for some high calorie foods that we use in a lot of meals. Example: If I want a black bean and cheese burrito, I have to take a 200 calorie…

Need some inspiration? Check out this quote...
Pain doesn’t tell you when you ought to stop. Pain is the little voice in your head that tries to hold you back because it knows if you continue, you will change. Don’t let it stop you from being who you can be. Exhaustion tells you when you ought to stop. You only reach your limit when you can go no further.

Distance Runners/Eating Exercise Calories
Hey everyone, I have a question for those who run long distances (marathoners/half marathoners, etc). How are you supposed to eat back your exercise calories when they get to be well over an extra day's worth of food? I am at a 1200 calorie limit, ran 11 miles this morning, and ended up getting 1380 extra calories. I just…

Donuts at work...
How can I avoid them? This is the second time in two weeks that someone has brought in a box of donuts. My first thought is, "oh man, just walk away". But then the instant someone personally offers me one, I cave. And boy, does it taste delicious. But SO BAD. And I feel so guilty. Any tips to help avoid these evil-doers?

Quick, Helpful Tips
I thought it might be cool to do a thread where we just post some really quick tips that we have found work well. The biggest one for me is: When you are craving sweets, EVEN chocolate, grab a piece of fruit. It totally does the trick. A little too obsessive...
Hey everyone, I have found that recently I am getting a little too preoccupied with my weight--as in, weighing myself daily and freaking out if my weight goes up even just half a pound. Obviously I know that weight fluctuates from day to day, but I find myself constantly thinking about my weight and worrying about if I…
