I have a fitbit ultra, managed to get it on an Amazon Black Friday deal so it helped reduce the cost a bit! I used it initially just to see what my normal activity levels were like and now it's part of my day-to-day to have it on me all the time. I try to hit 10,000 steps per day and I love how it links in with MFP - takes…

Pizza - I can polish off a whole large Dominos myself (not proud of this but just saying....) Chocolate - another case where portion control need not apply! If it's chocolate I will eat it, although sometimes only Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut will do (share size bar, obvs lol)

Hey all, I've been on-and-off this site a couple of times - keep coming back though, it's the best I've found! Add me too if you like, I'm in Scotland :)

I think everyone has times where they feel like that - I know I do!! I have PCOS and due to other health stuff have been on oral steroids for a few years now - so weight loss is a slow and painful process (but i can put on weight really really easily). Stick in there and keep tweaking till you find what works best for you…

Definitely worth asking if there is anything different you can take - I don't know what prep it is you've been given but for me, Klean-prep is a no-go - I just cant keep it down for it to do what it's meant to! In more recent preps I've tolerated picolax much better, I was also given liquid stuff once which was almost…

taken at easter - hence the bunny ears lol

Keeping it pretty plain and bland helps ease things - when I've had a really bad flare I've found the only thing which doesn't irritate me more is porridge, weirdly enough - made with milk too, though as it's cooked it doesnt cause any problems. Taking some light excercise can help ease the discomfort too, even just going…

Wow what an achievement - congratulations!

I've never heard of protein powder being recommended - is there a particular make or brand I should look for to use? My UC is currently grumbling away and causing me bother, not quite in a full-blown flare but would like to avoid that if possible - just want it all to settle down! Protein powder could be worth a shot at…

I would agree, when things get really bad and everything seems to irritate or upset my UC, porridge is my go-to food. There's something about oats cooked in milk which has a really soothing effect, for me anyway. It's one of those things though, you might find that going gluten-free totally works for you - best of luck!

Hi all! My name is Lisa and I'm 34, I've been using MFP for a few weeks now, but only just found this group - what a relief to find others out there who have UC and need to lose weight too! It's a common misconception I think that if you have an IBD then you're really slim because of it. My story to add to the list - well,…
