  • Hi! I'm a 30 year old social worker. I'm 5'2 and as of today have around 30 lbs I'd like to lose. Been up and down over the past 8 years with my weight. It looks like I might be a little late to the game, as there seems to be a solid group of ladies already in place here! I'd love to be a part of that and help to offer…
  • Anyone can add me also! I'm consistent with logging and tracking, and would love to support and motivate each other! I've lost 16 lbs so far and have another 25-35 to lose.
  • Social Worker in Maryland here! I've been working for a child abuse prevention program for the past 5 years. I agree with everyone about the challenges and rewards of our field. I definitely need to work more on the "taking care of me" aspect to prevent possible burnout, though!
  • That's awesome!!!
  • Don't think I made quiet a gallon either day over the weekend...but definitely more than I usually do. What helps you all to get in your water everyday? I keep my nalgene with me and just keep refilling it :)

  • Have you guys seen that picture going around on Facebook that says "All of my friends are getting married or getting pregnant. I'm just getting more awesome."? (I've also seen the variation that says "I'm just getting drunk"....yeah, classy statement about yourself there.) Seeing people I know post this just really irks me…

We bought our first house before getting married, which has made us very responsible and financially aware of everything we do. I've been working as a social worker for a non-profit agency in Baltimore for almost 4 years. I love what I do and am very…

  • I added a column in my diary to track sodium because I was eating some quickie-frozen meals at the office for lunch and wanted to be sure I was not harming myself with the amounts of sodium. It's up to you what you decide to keep track of, but it can't hurt

  • OK so I know I'm late in replying to this thread, but thought I'd chime in too since I'm a coffee lover as well. I worked as a barista in a small town coffee shop that served only organic fair-trade coffee for 4 years. That probably makes me a "coffee snob" as some might say  I am no expert, but I think drinking…

  • My absolute favorite is the You Pick 2 at Panera: 1/2 cup low fat chicken noodle soup (80 cal) and 1/2 tomato, mozzarella and basil salad, without croutons (210 cal). You can also ask them to put the oil and vinegar on the side and add it yourself so you can control how much you use. Yummy!
  • So many great tips! I just have a few to contribute, sorry if these have already been mentioned: Cut your own hair. I have been cutting my own for about 2 years now and have just started cutting my fiancee's. I like the way I do it better, and honestly think I'm pretty good at it! You can buy a set of hair trimming…

  • Great question. I'm interested in hearing other responses. I personally think that this is YOUR WEDDING DAY and you should enjoy it! If you don't partake in eating your wedding cake, how will you feel afterward? It's part of the celebration! It sounds like you have a great, healthy menu, and you've already decided which…
