This is my big true success story. This weekend I backpacked into the mountains to go camping with my boyfriend. I carried about 27 pounds on my back for approx 3 miles in and 3 miles out. Also hiked about 2 extra miles straight uphill just for fun. I don't think I would have ever been able to do this before I started working out the way I have been. My weight loss is going a little slower than I want but I am so proud that I was able to do this. I am not even sore! (well, except for a skinned knee) My body is getting so much stronger as well as my confidence.

Not sure what my loss will be this week but between the hiking and the freeze dried meals, I should be pretty happy on the scale for my next weigh in! Yay me! :drinker:

    Congrats! Thats so great. ^__^

My boyfriend and I are talking about going backpacking together when he gets back home from the Guard. It'll probably have to wait until sometime next year since he gets back in december and it'll be a bit too cold, but its something I've wanted to do for a long time so I'm working on getting into better shape. You just motivated me even more. :)

I went backpacking this weekend too! I was carrying something like 50 lbs (I had to carry everything for two people). The hike was 3.5 miles in...but went up 3,300 ft in elevation. Woof!!! It was quite the work out....and sooooo much fun! I am already struggling with how to both backpack and surf with my few remaining summer weekends. I don't think I can carry a 50 lb pack and my longboard! LOL!

Good job on the hike! It's addicting stuff!

oh, i don't know if i'm at the level or not. i said we were going to do it, but i didn't say anything about doing it *gracefully*.

    hahha!

i'm rather ambitious, so i do a number of things "on the fly" and typically am not much of a good sport about it, but i do it all the same. thankfully my boyfriend is not only patient, but he's deaf, so he doesn't have to listen to my complaining unless he wants to. :)
