I do a small amount of carbs (fruit) about an hour before my workouts to give me energy and then I have a low calorie protein shake right afterwards to support my muscles. So far, so good!

Hey sweetie, no panic disorder here, but I do have advice on food. A piece of fruit would be good. The carbohydrates will give you energy for the workout without weighing your stomach down. This is such an awesome thread! I didn't think I would ever be able to get through an intense workout like Insanity, but here I am into week two!

I don't want to get into any heated debates, but here's my two cents. I've only just started my second week of Insanity, and there are absolutely no isolated abdominal exercises. I think you can strengthen those muscles from other compound movements.

SOY MILK! Haha. I almost bought almond milk once, but then I noticed it barely has any protein. Soy milk is awesome: low calories, lots of protein, and double the calcium of cow's milk. It's also yummy.

I don't have a heart rate monitor, so I use "curcuit training- high intensity." I do want to get one though, because I feel like I burn more than 339 calories doing it. ;)

That's awesome! What kind of jeans were they? Mine are currently loose around the waist but still snug on the hips. It's tough to find good jeans!

I love Luna bars! They have higher protein bars now. I'd pair it with a banana or some sort of fruit if it is your actual breakfast, though. I also like the South Beach bars.

1000 is way too low. You should figure out your BMR, eat that as a minimum, and then eat back your exercise calories. Otherwise, you will not have the energy for the workouts and may even get sick or gain weight due to starvation mode.

Can you schedule some personal training sessions at your gym? It sounds like you are very new at this and should be shown how to use equipment to make sure you don't get hurt. Normally, as you lose weight, they will get smaller because your body fat percentage is going down. Building your chest muscles will firm things up and make them perky again. Try girl push-ups if you can't do full ones yet (on your knees instead of feet). You can also try chest flies with 5 to 10 pound weights.

I'm hoping to be able to wear pretty shoes as opposed to my Danskos. I'm a teacher and a sales rep, so I need to be comfortable. However, I'd like to wear cute shoes. At 170, it really hurt my feet and back to wear anything else. 12 pounds to go! :D
