I HATE the term and I'm a woman. To me it just sounds like stupid baby talk. I also hate it when people use the term "veggies" instead of vegetables. Ugh!

I usually have some yogurt (have gotten into Greek yogurt lately) and some granola, or some gluten-free cereal and milk. I've also been making refrigerator oatmeal with GF oats and various fruits, chia seeds, etc for 300 calories or less. Sometimes I eat my own muffins or scones that I bake as well.

I just lost 2 pounds from yesterday! Yesterday I was 135, now I'm 133. All I can think of is that it was period weight. I've just about finished this month. I did notice I had to pee a lot in the last 24 hours. Could the bloating just be water and that's how it's flushed out at the end?

I think Udis bread is pretty decent. They also have whole grain breads. I actually don't eat much GF bread because it's so expensive. Sometimes I make my own. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 2 years ago, by the way.

well, I weighed myself again today and I'm 2 lbs lighter than yesterday! So I think that some of it may have just been bloated weight that I gain when I get my period. Anyway, I don't feel so bad now.

I agree with some of the other posters...people may just not be used to seeing you slimmer. It's also possible that they could be secretly jealous that your losing weight and say you're "too skinny" as their way of venting? I used to be thinner than I am now (by about 7 pounds or so) and people were saying similar things.…

I don't weigh myself daily because I don't have a scale. My dad has one and when I visit home (usually several times a week), I try to weigh myself. I know if I were to buy my own scale, I would obsessively weigh myself many times a day. I think it would run my life. OCD runs in my family and so I don't have my own scale…

I exercised less in the last few days because I've been on my period and mine are painful and heavy. I have just about resumed my normal exercise now. Yes, probably upping the calorie intake too suddenly may have confused my body as well. It's one thing for a machine to tell you what to do, but it's another thing as to how…

thanks, everyone. I also need to clarify that I'm on my period right now (although almost done with it) and I suppose that some of the weight gain could be due to that? I never really notice my weight fluctuating a lot during my time of the month but I suppose that could also be a factor?

I don't usually feel like exercising at all during my period, particularly the first few days. In the past, I've almost never exercised when I'm on my period but now I'm trying to at least do it on days when the flow is lighter and the cramps aren't so bad. On days when I have bad cramps and heavy flow, I don't bother.…

I've been freaking out today because I suddenly weigh 3 more pounds than I did 5 days ago. My period is almost over. But the last time I had weighed myself, I was down to my target weight so I changed my plan to maintain my weight, not lose anymore. I noticed it added 450 more calories on to each day that I could eat. But…

all good suggestions, thanks!

thanks for the tips. I still find this to be a really frustrating problem, though. I wish someone could go through the various foods and delete the ones that aren't correct. Maybe they need to hire someone to do just that!

thank you so much!

thanks for your tips. I assumed that there is some way to change my profile to "maintain" the weight once I'm there. I'm just not sure how to go about doing it.

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease almost 2 years ago. I do not have GI symptoms (besides acid reflux and weight loss, which have gotten much better). Rather I had these problems: fatigue/exhaustion, insomnia, acne, nose bleeds, anxiety, brain fog, bruising, sinus pressure and headaches which I attributed to "allergies,"…

As far as I know, I do not get sick or get a bad reaction when glutened. Although this sounds great (and I am blessed with this), it's also a problem because I can't tell when I'm continuing to ingest gluten. I think that's why it's taken nearly 1 1/2 years for my antibody levels to finally drop and for me to start feeling…

In response to solarpower4, check out this article on the negative effects of media and Gf: http://glutendude.com/celiac/celiac-disease-gluten-media/ and "My Celiac Plea to Kim Kardashian" http://glutendude.com/gluten/kim-kardashian-goes-gluten-free/ he argues that all this exposure has hurt those who suffer from Celiac…

I have Celiac Disease and have been on the gluten-free diet for 2 years. I'm an expert at this diet. But you need to realize that there is a lot of misinformation about this diet. Since going on this diet, I have gained weight, not lost. Some of the weight I needed to gain because I was very thin when diagnosed. But it's…

that's horrible that your family makes fun of you for reading labels. I'm sure they would like it if you made fun of them for a disease they couldn't help :(

it's taken me nearly 1 1/2 years on the gluten-free diet before I started noticing my health improving. Although I'm feeling a lot better now, I'm also having problems gaining too much weight now. It's really frustrating because now not only do I have to watch that no gluten is in anything, I have to watch my calories as…

yes, it is extremely frustrating. A lot of people just don't get it. However, I do not get sick if I eat gluten. But it harms me in the long run. So it's even harder for me to know if I accidentally ingested gluten :(

be careful about the hype you might read on the gluten-free diet. Most of it is simply not true. It's suddenly become a trendy or "fad" diet for some. But I have Celiac Disease and have to be on it for life, no choice. It's very difficult. Honestly, I didn't start feeling better until after 1 1/2 YEARS of going…

Yes! I have Celiac Disease. I was diagnosed about 2 years ago. I was losing a lot of weight, was extremely tired, fatigued. Also had bad acid reflux, acne, bruising, constant nose bleeds, chronic yeast infections, depression, anxiety, sinus pain and pressure, headaches and brain fog. My symptoms are much better now,…
