Form is always number one. I wouldn't want to risk getting hurt just to squat/deadlift/etc an impressive number!

The cold never bothered me anyway

Start squatting, and squat heavy! Check out the Stronglifts 5x5 program to start :)
-
Echoing the suggestion about weight lifting! Stronglifts 5x5 was the beginner lifting program I started on and highly recommend :)

What a difference! You look fabulous! Great job :)

You look amazing, thank you for sharing!

And you look great too! Keep it up! :)

Loved Insanity and had great results! Doing Insanity Max now :)

Amazing! You are a true inspiration!

There’s definitely huge differences! The overall shape of your body is smaller – if you were to overlap the pictures, I’m sure you’d see that some of you has disappeared! Your arms and legs both overall look smaller, but to me, the most noticeable is in your core and stomach area. Your stomach looks smaller -- compare the…

Depends on what you like. I lift in the AM cuz I'm a morning person. Also less people = less waiting for equipment!

Hey! Looking for new friends who are doing Insanity Max :)
-
I just started Insanity Max this week and am looking for friends doing the same program. Feel free to add me :)

There aren't really any Filipino-specific sauces, it's just how we cook with them ;) Staple sauces that do come to mind right away include soy sauce, fish sauce, and shrimp paste!

Great work, keep it up :D

Strong lifts 5x5! It's great for beginners (I started with it!) because it's simple and easy to follow. Easy workout schedule, easy rep scheme, and the app is very helpful in telling you whether to increase/decrease/maintain the amount of weight you're lifting. Stronglifts has you do a combination of 5 compound lifts,…

Something very little for me -- less than 150 cals. A granola bar or small banana :)

As heavy as she safely can!

No "but"s! GET LIFTING! Your goal of shaping your body will definitely be achieved by lifting. I recommend taking a look at the Stronglifts 5x5 program to get you started. It's great for beginners -- very straight forward, and easy to follow. Make sure you perfect form before adding heavy weights. Best of luck :)

Check out Stronglifts 5x5! ETA: No matter what routine you end up doing though, can't place enough emphasis on the importance of proper form while lifting! Good luck :)
-
Thumbs up! Good luck :D

After I posted my reply I read yours and got confused too lol! Since it's a beginner program though, I'm pretty sure Stronglifts has you maintain the same weight for all 5 sets. The Stronglifts app walks you through each of your workouts and will tell you to increase/decrease/maintain the weight for your NEXT workout, but…

Here's a (hopefully) easy to follow breakdown of the Stronglifts routine, as I understood it (and how I did it!) Workout A: 1. Squats 5 sets of 5 reps each (5x5) 2. Bench press 5x5 3. Barbell row 5x5 Workout B: 1. Squats 5x5 2. Overhead press 5x5 3. Deadlift 1 set of 5 reps (1x5) Do one exercise at a time. So all squat…

Hide/throw away the scale! lol. NSVs are much more indicative of your fitness progress :)

+1 for Stronglifts! This is the lifting program I started with (with NO prior experience lifting) and would definitely recommend it :) good luck!

My legs got a little bigger from doing squats with a loaded barbell, but they were MUCH less jiggly and I'll take that any day! :)
-
You look great! Way to go :D

Same problem for me, I'm curious to what others will suggest! How low do you squat? I think I've noticed more cracking when I squat lower than parallel.
