probably just fluctuation. also, when your body is under stress (physical/emotional/mental) it often does funny things. it might just be that you had surgery and your body is reacting. i wouldn't sweat it too much. just rest and feel well soon!

everything in moderation...... if you want ice cream, have ice cream! i am gluten free (otherwise i'll get HIVES... yuck) so there are certain things i can't eat but i eat chocolate pretty much every day. if not? I'd go crazy!! Just keep your calories appropriate and exercise and you should be able to enjoy the foods you…

I agree completely :) You can do this!!

DITTO. I don't really eat a lot of starchy carbs, but can't get enough fruits and veggies :)))

PS I should have mentioned: i completed c25K and am now working on c210k!!!! doing this program was one of the best decisions i ever made-- i LOVE running now. used to not be able to do 5 minutes and now i can run miles! stay strong and keep at it. if you have to repeat a week, do it. do NOT give up. you will be so happy…

Jillian Michaels DVDs are great (like 30 day shred and ripped in 30). you can buy them for under $10 each or i think youtube might have some copies up! i love jillian, but i know some people dont hah! good luck and stay strong, you can do this!

protein! :) i eat as much as possible and it helps me feel strong and satisfied!

listen to your body. some days i don't eat back exercise calories, and some days i'm feeling extra hungry and so i do! listen to your body!!! best of luck!

I eat about half of them back just so that I have enough room for error (in case the treadmill or elliptical or HRM overestimates a burn or I underestimate my food). I usually burn 400-500 calories when I work out, so I eat back 200-250 usually leaving the rest just in case. Seems to be working. :) That said, if you're…

awesome post!!! sometimes i forget to focus on my lower body and seeing your post reminded me to WORK THESE THIGHS. you look awesome-- fantastic work :)

36C to 34 B right now..... they look really different.... hope they dont get smaller, but i still have 30 lbs to lose!

At the end of the day, what matters is the calories. However, I know some people choose not to eat past a certain time of day (night) so that the next morning the number on the scale might be lower because if gives your body more time to digest/break down/ pee/poop etc. Honestly, I don't think that eating later at night…

Everything in moderation.... I love diet soda and have it a few times a week. I think that if you are in this for the long haul (i.e. life style change) then you should enjoy diet soda if you like it and not worry about it. As long as you are eating right and exercising, you will see the results you want! :) Best of luck…

to me coconut milk tastes coconutty and almond milk not so much. so, while i like coconut milk, unless I want whatever im making to taste like coconut, i'd use almond! :)

YAY YOU! Congrats, and keep up the hard work! p.s. i love MFP too... use it more than facebook hah!

here is the best advice i have got: KEEP GOING. When I started running, I couldn't do more than 3 minutes without thinking I'd die! But here's what I've learned by slowly adding time (doing the intervals is really wonderful and C25K has helped me IMMENSELY): YOU CAN AND YOU WILL IF YOU WANT TO. :) I swear. I am not lying…

MFP calculated my goal at 1200. I usually eat back 1/2 exercise calories because I know the gym machines often overestimate. That said, if my body is still hungry I will give it something else to eat. If I'm not hungry, all done. I think that listening to my body is the most important. :)

I'm SO in. SW: 185 CW: 170 GW1: 165 GW2: 150 Then I'll take it from there and see how I need to evaluate once I hit that. Ideally, I'd like to be losing 2 lbs a week still so hopefully by the end of April I will be someplace in between GW1 and GW2! Feel free to add me if you'd like to do this together!!! :)

I've often been asked if I'm Turkish or Greek (more so when my hair is dark, right now it's blonder).
-
feeling like i don't have enough time in the day to do what must be done for school and work let alone the gym
-
Absolutely! Keep up the great work :)

i think it does not show up with calories because everyone burns differently based on the amount of weight, number of reps, general exertion, fitness level etc. If you want, you could use a HRM to determine calories burned during that time, but since MFP often overestimates cardio anyway, I just do my weight training as…

you can totally see it! great job, love!

I eat 1200 on days I do not exercise, and when I do exercise I try to eat back around half the exercise calories (becuase I know the caloric burn is not always accurate, anyway). Seems to be working for me. if you are feeling hungry, might I suggest more protein? For me, I can FEEL it when I do not have enough protein. I…

Well, it seems that when I drink coffee or green tea I have more bowel movements (sorry if that is TMI lol). I'm not sure if that is me revving up my metabolism or not, but I like that it helps me to feel "cleaned out," if you will. I have heard that green tea can boost metabolic rate, as well as cayenne pepper or other…

I hope y'all are joking. Can't always tell from writing, but if those of you who are saying women shouldn't be allowed or shouldn't choose to are serious then I think this is the wrong community for you to be a part of. This is about motivation and encouragement, not holding people back! I lift and love to lift. I'm not…
-
I agree. My gym music has to be loud and upbeat (especially when lifting because I often watch tv on my ipad while doing cardio haah).

don't bring the whole bar of chocolate, bag of chocolate chips or whatever it is with you to sit down!!! take a small portion in your hand and go enjoy. make sure it is a reasonable size. i also try to drink a HUGE glass of water before i eat the sweets so that by time i am done i will think "man, I'm full!" Almost always…

Honestly, I think you should eat a normal meal. If you are looking to see the number go down, having nothing but a salad will do so but then right after if you have a larger meal it will go right back. Personally, I think that consistency is key. That said, drinking extra water can help to "flush" out some of the food if…

I often have a snack late at night (because I am often up late and get hungry), so I try to keep it small. If I really want something sweet, I'll have a small handful of chocolate chips to satisfy the sweet tooth. Even if it is not the absolute healthiest, I do the best I can and am doing well on my journey so far. That…
