Lmao I second the don't take advice from a chiro! As for me.. Periods are normal in terms of length and content. I don't get them often.. Doctors suspect super early menopause will happen before I'm 30. I get hot flashes just hours before it starts. The irregularities blow cause I get really bloated up to a month before I…

lmao African Mango Bush pills? Big pharma must be getting bored

Yes I have had that happen. That and other reasons is why I don't take any type of birth control anymore

5' 6" 172.5lbs Size 6 CAN/US pants (or Size SMALL) at places such as Old Navy. Anywhere from XS, S to M for tops - depends on the room for my breasts

Music Also I do a bit of self talk like.. oh you can do 10 full push ups.. ok five more.. two more...
-
lol I wish I could have laughed at it back then like I am now.

I kind of read the first post then commented... can someone break down the accuracy of the different methods of measuing BF% please? Is water testing the most accurate of all other methods available?
-
LOL True.. that **** is disturbing. Ah well...

This is a work in progress. I have two kids, one vaginal birth the other c-section. I started out at 184.5lbs on Jan 20 83 days difference front (Day 34 left, Day 117 is today, right) Now I am 172.5lbs. I lift heavy weights atleast once a week, try to run atleast 3x per week. I walk a lot. Excess skin is inevitable if it…

When I was 12 years old, my mother's step-father told me he could use the fat from my waist as tires for his car.

Biggest issue so far has been eating around/with people. Everyone except my kids eat incredibly gross .. 3 burgers at McDonalds plus fries, ice cream. Lots of booze. I've become pretty anti social these days because it's so hard not to have four beers when you bump into the friend who always wants to drink

I love body fat percentage.. it helps me not think about how I'm not a typical 5'6" 130lb woman but a beautiful 5'6" 172lb woman. It also helped me not freak out because the scale wasn't moving. To each their own really.. I would love to see more people "freak out" about BF% than "OMG WHY AM I NOT LOSING LB WEIGHT"

Old Navy is pretty awesome. I just visit the clearance section of the store and use coupons for ___% off. Last time I snagged 5 pairs of pants and 2 tank tops for $15.20 (normally $139.70).

It always takes me 3-4km under my belt before I stop thinking about the fact that I'm running.. there are a lot of factors too. Maybe you have allergies? Maybe it's too humid out? And IMO - 27 mins is a great 5k time. I'm stuck at 38-39 mins for a 5k and I've been trying to shave some time off. I would be proud.

I find whenever I bend over to do an exercise, the Polar HRM will show "00" on occasion. You just have to make sure it is in the right area, the strap is damp enough and that it is secure enough

I usually grab capris specialized for "activity".. Old Navy, Lululemon carry great items. I would suggest though to try shorts, they are often cheaper and you won't get heated so fast in them. When my thighs were "bigger", I used a speciality deodorant stick on my inner thighs to prevent chaffing. Corn starch works too if…

My oldest is high functioning, younger son is typical.. I work nights, cook, clean, take both kids to their appointments. Up during the day to get kids where they need to be and I do some audit assignments for extra money where time allows during the day. I used to never work out - never wanted to leave the house with my…

I haven't used one before but I would take it with a grain of salt. Scale BF% tends to be inaccurate from what I've heard. I usually just take my measurements and go by the US Navy calculator for BF%. What does your BF% say according to this calculator (near the bottom on the right hand side)?…

Also OP, personally I wouldn't use any scale even if it was in a doctor's office. Have you been keeping tabs on your measurements? It may have increased because you are bloated, retaining water, etc,. Something to think about before you worry about whether you are doing something wrong
-
Who cares how she is measuring her BF - point is she wants to know if what she is doing is good for lowering BF% and IMO I don't think they are. You need to eat at a slight deficit, lift heavy (more muscle the better) and be active. The deficit is where the lb weight comes off and with proper eating and activity, it will…

Yup.

In that case, maybe you should ask your gym teacher from high school what to do then. :grumble:

lol bulky....

Why a DVD program? Why not try a lifting program that includes barbell squats. I've got better butt results from heavy lifting than any DVD. Sorry if I missed your explanation initially.
-
Heavier weights, low rep. Follow a program like Starting Strength, Stronglifts 5x5 etc. Eat at maintenance or at a very slight deficit.
-
You shouldn't be embarrassed about your # weight. Lots of women weigh more and look better than others who weigh less. Nice job!

Polar all the way.. just not the FT4 or FT7 However, I hear that Garmin is known for their GPS functions and can probably sync up with apps like MMR, MFP.. so if that matters, go with the Garmin.
