just added you on garmin connect. congrats on starting your 10K and enjoy the the training. I use the Relentless Forward 18/55 plan for my marathons which works well for me. Find a plan that works for you. There are a lot out there. Which half are you doing in Oct? I'm siging up for Mohawk full in Oct.

wish I'd seen this sooner. I've been absent for a long time but just got the garmin vivoactive which is linked to MY Fitness Pal. So I'd like to give up alcohol for the month in prep for the Boston Marathon which is on April 18th so I figured it will still count. Also want to log all foods for the month. Both are big…

No haven't gone to my Dr. work at a hospital so I know that it is muscle not bone issue. I injured it riding my horse and didn't stretch after so basically did it to myself. Now just kicking myself. getting old stinks !!

count me too. I hate lifting so maybe this will get my butt in gear!

I was in the same boat for the past 1.5 years and was doing all the cardio that you have been doing. I have to say that I was not as strick with logging my food as I should but when I did MFP kept telling me I was eating too little. Although I had read everyone's comments about eating back food and this whole TDEE thing I…

buy and wear a bikini which I haven't done since a I was a little kid. Okay my mom bought the bikini and I was probably 5 at the time. Haven't worn one even when I was at a good weight. Once I am toned and can show some muscles then I will be ready!

Runners world and women's running just had articles on this. Basically the article had recommended 1500 calories per day for weight loss. Obviously this is going to depend on your stats but it has been working for me. Only on my recent 10 mile run did I have an issue but my fault I forgot to bring almonds or something to…

Last night I was almost 500 cals below my recommended 1500 so I had Greek yougert with a half cup blueberries. Put me on target for tdee minus 20% for weight loss. Very filling and protein plus fiber!

I'm training for my first half set for April 28th! Did my first double digit long run last Sat. First time out where I really thought. I will be able to tackle the half and do it without bonking. Feel free to friend me. I think I caught the bug for half's!

My friend was having a similar issue and she meat with a trainer at the gym. He set her on a program where is was no carbs, except for veggies, for 3 days and the 4th day she was allowed carbs like bread or pasta. It forced her to eat more protein and fruits most days and was more relaxed on the 4th day. He said it would…

I am only 5'3 so that is why MFP has me set at 1200 cal/day since I do also want to lose some lbs. I had been at a plateau for months now and that was with runs of 5-6 miles 3 times a week. I did a long run of 8 miles last Saturday before I started the runner's diet. I have to say I was not tired during the run just after…

please add me as a friend. I am starting training for my first 1/2 in April. Never done anything longer than 10 so crossing my fingers I am up for the task. Is anyone out there training solo or did you sign up for a training group. One is starting in my area at the end of the month and not sure if it really worth the money…

I decided this Monday to see what impact giving up drinking would have on my weight loss trek. so far so good in the weight loss department but I have to admit that I do miss it right now. Hoping the change in the scales will be the smack in the head that I need to stay the coarse. The empty calories and headache the next…

don't just write off your afternnon plans but rather think out of the box and consider some yoga. It is great for streching, strength and helps focus and relax you. It might not get you to sweat as much as a run would but the other factors make it something to consider doing. If you don't use the time for yourself what are…

any chance to still get in on this challenge?? I really need motivation since I keep losing and gaining the same 5 lbs. Would be nice to be held accountable and see what I am doing wrong.
-
can I still get in on this one? I would like to do 100 miles this month. count me in
-
I'm in. I have 10 in so far
-
I haven't found my collar bones yet but I have found jaw line!!! I keep doing a double take in the mirror to make sure it is still there!
-
what training program is good? I have been winging it and usually do my 6 miles Sat or Sun. I have been running 4-5 days a week with one day off and one day on the elliptical for an hour.
-
darn I missed when this started..... well I was hoping to get in another 80 this month. So far as of 4/25 I only have 56.5 miles. Not sure If I can make my 80 this month or if I can even still be in this group. It really helped me get my mileage in March.
-
did 22 miles for the last week
-
mouth closed. no bugs and no side stitches!
-
I think it has to do with your becoming better conditioned and therefore your heart rate is not increasing thus the lower calorie. I have added interval into my training. I will increase my speed for short bursts to boost my HR. You might want to consider this.
