There are several people I know who ate right and exercise regularly and/or all the time. My ex was diagnosed with type II, he was thin (not skinny fat), trained five/six times a week and runs at minimum five marathons a year.

Not only will she destroy her muscle stores (your heart is a muscle), if she lives in an urban area and takes public transportation to and from work/entertainment/visiting friends, she will contribute to transit delays from folks passed out on the subway/buses (God forbid if she is driving and passes out) and then having…

Hi, Came over here and read this topic, then jumped over to a medical site I subscribe here and this was the first thing that popped up: http://www.medpagetoday.com/pulmonology/smoking/40837 uncanny.

You know you can be underweight and still be medically obese. It really has nothing to do with how much you weigh but the percentage of fat to muscle. NWMO is the acronym. used, Normal Weight Medially Obese. I know competitive power lifters and based on their height and weight we would call them obese; however, their body…

If you go back and reread what I wrote, you will see that my eating habits did change once I spent time getting fit and improving my health. I clearly stated that my cravings diminished and why, although not scientific or backed by research study, I lost weight. It happened over a period of 3.5 years.

Giiiiirrrrrrl, yep, yep, yep, I can fee you. Although I didn't begin my healty/fit journey on MFP, I got talked about, lied on and "insulted." I had aids, cancer, etc. when I began my journey Feb of 2006. Although I wasn't shooting for weight loss and was trying to get my type ii diabetes under control, aw well as the…

No, I don't. I think I was ravenous before because my body was craving nutrients it couldn't get. My skin, my hair, etc improved tremendously after I began exercising. In fact although I am not suppose to fast, I can do it without feeling like I'm going to eat an elephant if one passed by. My body can handle extremes in…

I've lost weight by way of exercise only. It took me 3.5 years but I lost weight and gained muscle. Most of the studies done regarding exercise vs. calorie deficit are not long term. They are usual a couple of months and never long term. Even though I was overweight at the time, my goal was to control my health, blood…

It's really not about making BIGGER rides to get obese people on them, it's also what the g-forces do to your internal organs.

What worked for me: Portion control and a good exercise plan. Has been working since 2007.

I know a women who went so far as to get a lot of travel brochures and spread them all out on the coffee table. When her husband asked what was she doing she replied, "I'll looking at all the places I can go off of your life insurance 'cause you're surely going to die soon if you don't start taking care of yourself.

Here's the deal, women can lift heavy but the models they are using can't 'cause they are not fit. For that reason the weights are always teeny tiny.

The first people who noticed my weight loss were not friends. Owners and sales people at stores I frequented, cleaners, etc. A lot of my friends were angry at me, for daring to get my weight down. However, my weightless happened before I knew about MFP and happened in 2010 and was more about losing dress sizes then…

This story proves out this saying: You may not get what you pay for, but you always pay for what you get. Cheap doesn't mean inexpensive. I am an accountant, not-for-profit and I see the mentality in a lot of accountants, confusing cost with the need for an investment in products, people, etc.

I will read this later -- sounds good. I bet the food industry have studies like this.

Exercise is MORE THAN loosing weight. It is about keeping the body function at optimum levels and without physical exertion, you can't achieve that.

I use video games, specifically EASA2.0 (EA Sports Active 2.0), to workout in the morning. I do not eat, I do it in a fasting state, and I do not east breakfast until I get to work, or if it is the weekend, maybe 1 to 2 hrs after my workout is over. I can program anywhere from 25 minutes to one-hour plus after work.

. Although I lost my weight before coming here to MFP (I joined with a group of exergamers using EA Sports Active when their WEB site was shut down), I've been cursed out, told I was crazy by different folks who saw me before and then after my weight loss fitness gain. I was suppose to have AIDS and then cancer. When I was…

ninerbuff you bring up an interesting quandary. Do you think because of changes in hip width and other body proportion changes, girls may feel awkward and have a sense of lose of control because their center of gravity is changing, causing them to adjust their stride, etc.

I only have a regular flip phone that I was using for emergency - basic Verizon Service and I rarely went go over the allotted minutes. I use my cell phone for when I visit my son and daughter-in-law (no land line); and currently I'm using my cell phone to get calls from my contract agency. Was laid off in February so I'm…

Thank you for stating something that I want to scream. In all my attempts to lose weight, it wasn't until I got serious in controlling my type II diabetes through fitness that I finally lost. I called the weight loss and body transformation "gravy" that rides along with fitness. I took my three and one-half years to lose…
