There is a Swedish quote that I like: "Det är vägen som är mödan värd." It means "It is the journey that makes the trouble worth while." I remind myself this when I get too impatient with my slow weight-loss. I have to savor every moment.

The guy that owns the gym I go to told me I should do cardio after lifting weights and that I should do it for a minimum of 30 mins because it takes that long for the body to start burning calories.

I love watching people lose weight lol. As long as it's through a healthy diet and exercise then I find it inspiring. Why would it make you feel bad about your own weight-loss? It's not like we live on Biggest Loser camp. We do what we can in our everyday life.

Like the previous posters said, you can sit on your bum all day and still lose weight. If you do however got more than 10 lbs to lose, which seems to be the case, I highly recommend doing some sort of resistance/weight training. I lost about 28 lbs only through walking and a good diet but I regret not exercising during…

One thing I've learned is that you really do have the exact same shape as before, only in a smaller version. I always had a relatively small waist compared to my wide hips both when I weighed 183 lbs and now at 127 lbs. I kept the same waist to hip ratio. It's probably not the same for everyone though. But I try to be…

Hahaha embarrassing indeed! I don't think it's possible that I could do that. I would never leave my apartment without checking in the mirror how I look. But I have done other embarrassing things lol. You just gotta laugh at yourself sometimes!

There's a lot of weird things I do, like anyone I guess. I have to have curry on my eggs, chew the insides of my cheeks, count everything and have to divide it until it's equal and my family say I have Podophobia. I hate feet. I think they're gross so my family members sometimes chase me with their feet. :frown: I would…

This I understand. If I worked out at home I would probably do it naked  Ok maybe wearing underwear.. I go to a new and hip gym so it's nice to look like a superstar while working out haha. Why not look good while sweating right? Jewelry and make-up are also a must lol

Yes, others like me! Haha. I'm ADDICTED to sports clothes! I've probably spend at least $1000 the last 2 months... I love Reebok, Nike, UA etc.. People at my gym probably think I'm sponsored by Nike lol. It's so much fun to shop fitness clothes when you work out a lot and you see yourself becoming fitter! I wear fitness…

I think this is so true! Thanks for sharing. I know a lot of people think they have monopoly of the concept of love but there are so many different kinds. I do think that the mature, safe, every day love is more common and the passionate, irrational, heart wrecking love is harder to find. Not everyone gets to experience…

Some of your replies are really sweet and helpful and some are just inessential and patronizing. I think that before you respond and quote me, you should read all that I wrote. And just because you haven't lost sleep or appetite over someone, that doesn't mean it's not love for someone else. Some of you say to me that I'm…

Haha but Nicholas Sparks seems to know a thing or two about love.. I bet he's a good husband xD

I think falling in love is easy for some people. Like you, and my mom.. Not for me and nope I did definitely not fall in love with my exes.. But that's a long and sad story.

When I say love I mean that I've never been infatuated or had a crush on anybody! I had a crush once when I was like 7 years old... So maybe I'm immune or not capable? :-) I used to think I can't love.. That's what my exes told me.. I have a heart of stone bla bla. But I'm not searching and I don't worry anymore. I'm used…

I think this is sooo true!!

So we're in the same boat 7abiby. :-)

Yep! I know it's sick! Too bad I was too young at the time to realize it............
-
It's funny that everything you write about love, is exactly my idea of love as well. Because I realize love has many faces.. Laying sleepless with aching heart is just one example of young love.. I've lived with my ex for many years. Met him when I was 15 and he was 26 and shared everything together.. We were engaged bla…

Yes, this is my idea of everyday love.. I sure would want that someday.
-
This actually still happens in Tadzjikistan.. It's horrifying..

I do realize that love has many faces and can't be defined by a simple answer. When I wrote about how movies portray it I meant infatuation, new love, passion. I know people that actually felt like that.. They couldn't sleep or eat etc. For others it may be different. Sure there are people that are happy in a relationship…

There's new research proving that showering more than once actually makes your skin dirtier than if you shower less frequent. It's because she skin has a sort of protective film of fat to help the skin keep clean, but when you shower too often this natural protection is destroyed. The more you shower, the more sensitive…

Hello! I'm no expert but I think it's doable. If not 10% I think you can lose a lot of body fat in 3 months. I think you should focus on HIIT and weight lifting. The people I've read about who managed to lose body fat quickly lifted a lot of weights. So that's my advice to you.

I was always at a healthy weight, quite skinny until I was 18. I met a 26 years old man when I was 15 and our relationship was chaotic and destructive. I started to feel psychically ill and got depressed. I stopped working out, dance, meet people and mostly stayed at home alone. Gradually I started to shut myself in…

In Sweden we've come far in equality so it's not more common anymore that the woman does the cooking or any other house chore. When I was with my ex, he was always the one cooking for me. I just love a man who can cook. It's so attractive!

Hi! I've been belly dancing for a few years and it really is a great way to work your body. You learn how to control every part of your body and move in ways you wouldn't normally move. It's a great way to work out your muscles and also for cardio. :-)
-
Found these on google. The Japanese sizes are the same in Sweden.
-
It's definitely not considered normal in Sweden where I live. When I go to my gym I usually feel "big" and I'm 5'6" and 130 lbs..

Could someone help me. I'm sedentary and study from home so not a lot of activity in my days. But I do work out for 1 hour 5 days a week so am I lightly active or sedentary with 5 workouts per week? It just seems a bit low to be eating 1200 cals on both rest days and workout days to lose 1 lbs per week..
-
According to this calculator I can only eat 1214 cals on both rest days and workout days to lose 1 lb per week which I think most people on here would recommend against.. Can this be accurate?
