MFP builds in a deficit to the amount of calories it tells you to eat everyday, WITHOUT exercise. That's why it adds extra calories to your day. You are supposed to eat those back.
-
Sure, as long as you don't mind the crazy.

My family has cake and booze at every occasion. Even funerals. I say skip it.
-
No cake and no booze? Can it even be considered a wedding at that point?
-
I'm not a huge ice cream fan. (don't throw anything at me) Can I substitute cupcakes?

It took me a year and a half to lose 50 pounds. I'm glad it did. It increases my chances of not ever having to lose it again.

That's so sad. Poor wasted bacon.

That's what I was thinking. I eat some form of bread, pasta, potatoes, rice every single day. As long as I'm under maintenance calories, I lose weight.

I keep the same exact workout schedule. If anything, it has helped with symptoms. PMS, cramping, etc.

I haven't read any of the other replies, so I'm probably repeating what others have said... Maintain the muscle you do have. The goal is to be losing fat with a minimal amount of muscle. Lifting weights helps you accomplish this. Strength goals. Even when I wasn't making progress weight loss wise, I had strength gain goals…

+1 I always feel like I looked fantastic, until someone posts pictures. :grumble:

I used to eat intuitively. I got fat. Like others said, the goal is to get to a place where you don't have to track/weigh/measure everything, but it's a great starting point for the majority of overweight people.

Yup.

One thing at a time.

My brain took too long to catch up to my body. By the time I decided to pull out my old/smaller clothes, they were all too big.

Do what YOU can stick too. I eat many small meals throughout the day because that's what works for me, not because I think it will speed up my metabolism.

Big difference.
