I am 5'5" I would like to get to between 125 and 135, the ten pounds leeway is so I can see how I feel as I hit the higher end of my goal. I got to 139 then gained a little even though my diet didn't change. Perhaps my body is happy where it is now, but I'll fight it. :-)

T2 diabetic - now have completely normal numbers, and only very rarely spike and when I do it's always my own fault by eating far too many carbs. I have AJA which had me confined to a wheelchair - I have taken over 100 pounds off my joints so the wheelchair is in retirement (for now at least, it is aggresive and will come…

I did three days of the Atkins fat fast diet, I finished yesterday. While I lost 7 pounds in those three days, weight loss that quickly was not my aim. I needed to break a plateau and I have done that. Would I recommend it? Only if you really are stuck on a plateau and are prepared to feel really bad days 2-3. I know I…

I have eaten primal for quite a while now, and it's become second nature. Paleo was just a bit too hardcore for me, I like my dairy and have a high fat ratio compared to protein, my carbs are always as low as I can physically get them, but always under 25g a day. I see primal and paleo as a lifestyle choice opposed to a…

100% agree. Addiction is part of the problem, and the biggest part in my opinion. I quit eating carbs almost 15 months ago for health reasons. Initially the cravings were hell. I wanted bread, potato's rice, chips, fries and going through the carb flu or withdrawal was horrendous. I persisted for my own sake, and finally…

This is so true and applies here in the UK too. I learned that when I looked at the nutritional labels, finding foods without any added 'extra's' was actually almost impossible. From sugars and salt, to chemicals I can't pronounce. Why? The more a food is processed the higher the profit. Finally I decided that if I was…

Wheat/grains/gluten/carbs I was wheelchair bound, I'm not anymore. I couldn't get shoes on my ankles were so swollen and anything apart from the biggest baggiest trousers wouldn't go over my knees. I now wear heels and skinny jeans - honestly. Cut out the items I have mentioned, you will be a different person.

Forgive me butting in again, I did the Newcastle diet around this time last year. I did 4 weeks 3 shakes a day, then 4 week two shakes with a small meal. Over the eight weeks of the diet I lost 50 pounds in weight, I have kept that off, and defatted my liver. I have recently had liver and kidney checks and both are now…

albertabeefy is correct. Cholesterol is the bodies healing hormone, so when you first adopt a LCHF diet, your cholesterol is very likely to raise as your body begins to heal. Depending on how much abuse we have given our bodies, will depend on how long it takes to heal, but almost all followers of a LCHF diet will see…

Cheese doesn't effect me in the slightest and I eat 30-50g most days. I would try some flax, I use Linwoods organic (I am in the UK) I just have 15g a day on Greek yogurt with berries and chia seeds. I sometimes add almond slithers and sunflower seeds, and seriously, you could set you watch by my bathroom habits.
-
My ehm,,, bathroom habits are so regular it's scarey. I do eat loads of veggies, also coconut oil and I also have 15g flax every day. Works really well for me.
-
I am primal and I have 5g of chia seeds almost every day.

Me too. I half mine then wrap something around mine, a slice of ham, lettuce leaf, lovely

Haddock or cod mainly - I eat fresh fish once a week every week. I cook it in a large non stick pan with water and some cream (I don't drink milk, but milk and water is better). I cook it until it begins to flake.

This thread has made me laugh - thank you everyone. I am English born and bread, my husband is US Californian born and bred. Thankfully he has taught me much of the American dialects, as I have taught him the English. I tend to spell some words American, others UK, so anything I write can be very confusing, or people think…

Breakfast most used are: Coconut oil Almonds Strawberries. I don't eat the strawberries for breakfast now, just coconut oil and almonds. I do eat berries almost every day for lunch.

This, I find home cooked works out to be the best in every way, so an extra portion frozen is always handy. For speed, if you have a steamer, just chop up some veg and steam while you cook some protein, a quick one is fish cooked in a large pan with some milk/cream and water until it flakes.

I have no problem with soda, I loathe all kinds and have never drunk it. I am fine with snacks too, as often my calories are low. Processed food, ready meals and anything canned except tuna and sardines are banned, so is anything made with wheat, grains and soy, including all the oils. I happily eat saturated fat, but…

I have lost over 100 pounds with around 14-20 to go. Initially the weight on the scales fell really easily, but I was still fitting into my old clothes easily. I think I was around 40 pounds down before I had to buy smaller and now I have loads and loads of new clothes. I also have some target clothes, a complete outfit, a…

I have been low carb for over 13 months, I varied a bit to get the right amount for me, I eat under 25g of carbs a day.

I live in the UK and saw the program when it was first broadcast. Micheal Mosely is a super man, and he reports things as they are. I tried the 5:2 fast, I did it for 6 weeks and I hated it. It did nothing for me weight or shape wise either. I then learned men have much better success than women, and that was my experience…

We have it in the UK too. It's something I eat almost every day, I choose the full fat version as the others are packed with sugar, and I love it.

There is not a chance I would go near margarine, having learned how it's produced, so butter all the way for me, and lots of it. :-)

I am Primal under 25g of carbs a day, feel free to add me too. I log every day.
