Yay! Could do with some Garmin buddies. I'm Kate Billingham

Unless they are medically trained professionals, they should leave whether or not the OP is at a healthy weight to the OP and her doctor.

Stockholm, Sweden! Though I am originally from the Midlands in the UK.

I hear you. It's incredibly rude when people think they can just criticise or comment on your body like it's something open for public discussion.
-
Yeah, agreed. Your progress/stamina will probably take quite a knock. The body needs fuel, especially for those kind of activities. Is it really worth it to lose 20lbs so quickly?

I up the frequency of my weight workouts very slowly to avoid this problem. I'm the same as you - too much weight work, my hunger goes crazy! It does calm down after a few days/weeks though. TBH I just go with it. It's only a short term thing.

Amanda, you just click on the person's name and then click through to their profile.

Hello! I'm originally from the Midlands, but lived in London for 15 years and am now in Germany (soon to be Sweden!) Don't log my food but I'm really focused on getting my exercise hours in (a mix of running, HIIT, and strength training.) Let's DO THIIISSSS!

Totally ditto for Fitness Blender! Been using it solid for over a year and still not bored. I recommend going on their website because you can use their search tool (you can search by difficulty, workout type, time, target area, etc.). No registration, and free!

My arms used to be so weak, they would ache if I had to hang up a lot of clothes in my wardrobe. Thanks to strength training, I can actually USE them now!

People are being way too harsh on the OP. If they're confident in their measuring, then they're confident. That wasn't the point of their post. @Mystical64 - I guess you have tried propping up your calories with the usual shakes, peanut butter, etc? Are you drinking much caffeine?

I have never been a good cyclist either, it just doesn't come naturally to me. Having said that, I cycle to and from work at least 3 times a week, about half an hour each way. It really helps! Just don't be too tough on yourself. Don't worry about going fast, or if people overtake you... Try to enjoy the fresh air. Take…

I like the Stronglifts 5x5 program (all compound moves), because there are only 5 moves to learn so it is pretty straightforward. Also, not a huge amount of equipment required.
-
I have the same thing as you - always had pretty thick legs/calves. Makes it a real pain shopping for knee high boots! And I gotta say, especially as your BMI is already in the normal zone, I think you need to accept that you can only do so much to alter the way your body puts itself together. If fat and muscle always goes…

I am from the UK (London), living in Germany for 5 months - I frickin' love the German's sheer dedication to bakery products. Bakeries on every corner. Fresh, cheap bread, every day. London and Hamburg (where I am now) are both very walkable cities (especially Hamburg, and everyone also has a bicycle), so my activity and…

I make my porridge with water - pop it in the microwave for 4 mins (until it's risen so much it's nearly spilling over the bowl), then mix in some peanut butter and blueberries - YUMMMMEEHHHHHHH!

Today was my first day using a power rack, after 8 months of dumb bell squats! My gym is rubbissshhh so doesn't tell you how to use any equipment and all the men in the room think I'm a moron anyway because LOLZ FEMALE, so it was a bit of a difficulty spike for me. Happy with 5 complete sets at 40kg, even though my form…

65% with my Stronglifts working sets, so still got a way to go!
-
Also - what kind of shoes are you wearing? A lot of trainers have a bit of a heel on them, which doesn't help matters.

BOO! ... Just kidding. Hello! UK female 32 years old 5"5.5 (that half an inch makes a big difference!) Generally found hovering between 150lbs and 135lbs. Currently sitting around 139lbs. Focused on getting stronger via 5 x 5 Stronglifts program with minimal cutting in order to slightly reduce body fat without sacrificing…

I've been using an app called "Strong Log" for a few months, which I'd recommend. Free and very simple to use. No bells and whistles.

IHATESQUATSIHATESQUATSIHATESQUATSIHATESQUATSIHATESQUATSIHATESQUATS!!! In other news, I hate squats :) Simply because they are hard and sitting on my bum, eating cake, is much easier. But I also love squats, because they do amazing things. Things that cannot be achieved by sitting on my bum, eating cake. Today I did a bench…

Started out not being able to do ANY, I had zero arm strength. Now using the 100 push ups app and can do at least 8. Woo hoo!

Thanks for the advice everyone. You all had great advice. I think at the moment I'm setting myself too many targets, so for now I'm going to go back to basics of just lifting 3 times a week and see how I get on with that, and if I find it too boring, drop down to 2 times a week with a run or other activity on the 3rd…

Thirded MapMyRun! I've tried about four running apps and this is still my favourite. Nice online section to it, and the GPS seems to sync better compared with Endomondo.

The (very few) women in my weights room are friendly. However, I can understand it when that's not the case. It could be (speaking from my own experience) that your ladies have a sort of "head down, in the zone" mentality thing going on, because weights rooms can be quite intimidating places and there's an unspoken…

Also in the big leg club! Partly just the way I was made, and partly because I've run for years. Finding boots that fit is also a pain, but they're great because they're strong and get me to where I need to go, so I'd rather have kick *rse legs than pretty boots!
-
Always looking for lifting buddies :) Feel free to add me.

So impressed by all the OHP numbers on here - I've been stuck around 15kg forever!

Wetherspoons food in general. I don't know what the hell they do to it to make them all so high in calories. Example: Gourmet hot dog without onion rings and chips: 976 cals. BBQ ribs without coleslaw, chips or onion rings: 1347 cals. I mean, I know these options aren't screaming "Pick me! I'm low cal and healthy!" but I…
