Started with the bar, 43% of my weight, and just recently reached 104%
awesome! I was excited to hit 100%.
after my little setback i'm back to about 90%....When i get over 100% i'm gonna do a little happy dance0 -
I'm currently just below 150% of my body weight. I started lifting heavy in Sept '13.
I have had some knee issues so when I get over 200lbs I have to wrap my knees.0 -
at 80kg bw i was squatting 110kg for 5sets of 5. No idea what that is %wise, 140% ish?
Anyhow, at the moment, i'm lucky if i can squat with nothing due to a spinal injury0 -
I can squat about 142% of my body weight. I weight 130 pounds and can squat 185 pounds. I've been lifting for a year now but only started squatting 6 months ago. When I first started squatting I could squat around 100 pounds. I usually do 3-4 sets of 8.0

I squatted 130% of my body weight today which was 80kg. When I started lifting it was just the oly bar, then I reached 100% bodyweight last year and having been working slowly to the point that I will be able to do 200% someday in the future.0

96% for working sets, 110% for 1RM. An illness then lack of gym membership then illness again kept me out of the squat rack from August to January, so I've been squatting again for 2 months. Squats are going up each week, so I should be over 120% by the end of May.
Goal is 140%.0 -
working weights or 1 RPM??
Jo, you're my go-to when it comes to questions. When they say "I squatted 110% of my body weight" do they mean that a 150lb person squatted with 265lbs on their shoulders? Is that free-holding the barbells or the "good morning" machine? (Is my math off?)0 -
This has varied over the years. My best was 2.55 x bw. Then I took many years off and started again last year. Now I am at 1.66 x BW. I would be high right now I think but I have been inundated with joint issues that keep causing setbacks, plus I am heavier now so I think getting back up to 2.55 x will be much tougher to do unless I cut body weight. I would like to get back up to 2 x BW. That would be pretty good for my age and weight.0

Also keep in mind that as you get heavier the weight you do does not proportionally go up. So for example there is a big difference I think when you have a 300 lbs guy who lifts double body weight vs a 150 lbs guy lifting double.0

I squat 80% of bw. Could do more but I go easy on my knees.0

I started out doing StrongLifts, and was squatting just the empty bar -- so around 30% of my bodyweight, but to be honest, that didn't feel heavy, but I doubt I could have squatted my bodyweight if my life depended on it. Now, about a year later, I'm doing about 145% of my bodyweight. And I'm 25lbs heavier. And yes, there have been setbacks along the way. Weeks off because of vacation, flu, etc. I did switch to Starting Strength, and have now progressed onto the Texas Method -- we'll see how that goes.0

65% with my Stronglifts working sets, so still got a way to go!0
-
Currently 113% of my bw - started out with just the bar0
-
started two weeks ago with SL and squat about 51% of my BW now0
-
>BW for reps. I use Squat Stands (no Power/Squat Rack) so for safety reasons I have never attempted to see what my 1RM is.0
-
85% for my RPM
Maybe 66% for working..
My goal is 150% of weight at goal weight which is 9 stone so...goal BS of 85kg, currently squatting 58kg!0 -

100% body weight would be 150 lbs
110% of body weight would be 165
its' easier to say I squat body weight- or 1.5BW or 2xBW- I don't know many people who do the percentage of their body weight after they get to 100 or 1.5. Most people just say what they squat - or go to 1.5bw.
percentages really are more applicable for under body weight lifts.
And typically when people say they are squatting weights like this- is a barbell on a squat rack or power cage- not with a machine (I think this is the only forum I'm on where it's not automatically assumed- or they have to add 50 lbs plus the bar.... that's kind of a given)0 -

This is my problem too....I think I have stalled out here because of the risk with using the stands....could probably do more quite easily.0 -
After about 6 months of regular weight lifting, I am up to 210 lb., about 135% of my body weight. I was happy to squat over 200 lb. - my new goal is 200% of my body weight!0
