Yes. They recommend a 2,000 calorie diet and 5 days a week, walking for 30 minutes.

I love reading this thread. I feel a common bond with so many of you! I really "got with it" in August 2016 and have lost 25 pounds. It doesn't sound like much, but it was slow and steady weight loss. I did well thru the holidays (which surprised even me)! Then January came and I hit a wall. I have struggled since the…

I have 40 pounds to lose to be at my goal weight. Anyone need encouraging friends? Let me know! I need them too!

I've just been reading up on some of the posts on this subject. I am 58 years old and have lost 25 pounds since August 2016 (6 months) and would love to have friends from this age category. I truly believe it is harder to lose weight after 40-45. And there are other issues that hit us naturally at this age that doesn't…

58 here! I've lost 25 pounds and have 40 to go. We can all use motivating friends. Feel free to add me...

Hi Katie.. I was introduced to Omada Health in August (2016) and joined free of charge like you mention above. It has been a great program! You don't send pictures of your food?? I have never been asked to do that. But the lessons are great. They have skills for "extra points" that are really beneficial to weight loss. I…

Wow.... this is me! Our measurements almost match. I am an inverted triangle as well. It is very hard to buy clothes when you look at the measurement charts. If I went by these measurements, I would be an XL on top, 3X at the waist, a medium at the hips and my legs are short and muscle toned, but small. LOL!!

Love your story. I think most of us can say we know where you are coming from. It is so easy to think we will "go on a diet and lose __ weight". But the realistic view is, we have to change how we eat for the rest of our lives. If we omit a favorite food, we are doomed to fail. You have your head on straight and I love all…

I have 23 pounds down and 43 to go. Feel free to add me! I have cut out "added sugar" and refuse to replace it with artificial sweeteners. Even just 23 pounds off, I feel fantastic and definitely am feeling the benefits of cutting out added sugar. By "added sugar" I am talking adding sugar to tea, etc. I have had a few…

I gave up "pop" in August. I do not miss it in the least. I have lost 23 pounds so far. I have reactions to artificial sweeteners, so I do not drink diet anything. I only drink (plain) water or unsweet tea. Occasionally I have a hot tea/herbal tea with a teaspoon of honey. ;) By the way....MalkinMagic71.... a big thumbs up…

University of Texas Health Center and the Harvard Medical School says diet sodas ARE in fact bad for you. Read the study here... https://bionews-tx.com/news/2013/05/23/ut-health-science-center-study-reveals-how-diet-soda-contributes-to-obesity-poor-health/ I personally do not and never have consumed any diet drink in my…

I stayed the same for 2 weeks as well (and have lost 18 pounds so far). So I understand your frustration! But don't lose your motivation, you will see a loss soon. Move a little more than usual... drink a little more water than normal. And go try those clothes on that you were wearing before your 20 pound loss! I did that…

Let me add, that I do lose weight... for about 4 weeks. then it stops. No matter what I do, my weight loss will not budge. I could understand if I only had a small amount of weight to lose, but I need to lose at least 60 pounds. I stop losing after 1 month. Surely this isn't normal? I stay at my 1200 calorie allowance. I…

Great information, thanks everyone! I will check with my doctor and try to get in to a specialist and get those extra blood tests taken.

No, just the TH levels.... which always come out "within the average".

Fantastic replies, thanks ladies!!

I could really use the motivation, help and humor. I lost 16 pounds in Sept-Oct last fall and put 8 back on over the holidays. Please extend your invitation to me to join your group! Thanks!!

Just read thru the posts! What great advice. I have sent a couple of friend requests, it isn't easy finding friends that are in our age group! Anyone wanting to add me, let me know. I would add water to the list of weight loss tips. Everyone knows they should drink water, but I am a life-long water hater! I have been…

Yum! I'll have to try the mandarin orange cups with whipped cream. Sweet and creamy! Thanks Jessilee!

This made me literally LAUGH OUT LOUD when I read it... thanks for the smile!

Fantastic options listed! I also love almonds (smoked are my favorite) and green beans are one of my absolute favorite foods ever!!

No, I haven't! I will try that brand, thanks a bunch Kemval74!! (Can't believe the carmine in yogurt, YUCK!!!) :)

I cut out all soda and (sweet) iced tea on August 24th. That date is like "engraved" in my memory. I only drink water now, and have lost 14 pounds. I am a firm believer that diet drinks are worse for you than regular. Calorie-wise, it is zero, but increasing reports are proving that drinking diet drinks still encourage…

I am mid-50's and not new to MFP either. I have yo-yo'd with 15 pounds for 3 years. Down 15, up 15, back down 10, up 5, down 7, up 17. Yes, I too reached my heighest weight, ever, last month. After seeing myself in photos, not being comfortable bending and feeling totally miserable, it hit me.. I have to do this. It is now…
