  • I think you should post this under the regular message boards. Maybe in the food and nutrition one?
  • I do this and I really like it. My one exception is that I drink coffee with 1T of heavy cream and about 1/2-3/4 of a T of coconut oil in it for "breakfast". I find I sleep better, feel more satisfied when I eat, and even look younger eating this way. It's really easy to do if you are busy during the day.
  • You have to really want it. You have to decide that it is worth the sacrifice to reach your goals. Wake up and recommit! Remind yourself why you want to lose weight. As for me, I always feel better when I am eating healthy and moving more. But I struggle with the "all or nothing" mentality, too, when I mess up eating. I'm…
  • I'm so proud of you! You look amazing! Proof that dedication and hard work pays off! Glad to have you as a MFP friend!! :)
  • I watch carbs more than calories, but I pre-cook either 93/7 or 85/15 hamburger or turkey patties on Sunday and pack them in individual containers in the fridge. I pair that with some frozen veggies with butter. I just microwave and eat. Very easy to do, too. I usually do 4 days worth and take chicken salad made with…
  • What an amazing transformation!!! You rock!!!
  • Sodium is a bit high, but as long as you are drinking water that shouldn't be THAT big a deal. I say raise your protein a little and lower the carbs a little. By a little I mean shift maybe 30 grams (up for protein and down for carbs...).
  • Sugary stuff causes reactions in your brain similar to drugs. For some people (people who react so strongly and binge on sweets), completely eliminating sweets is the only way to do it. I've cut out almost all carbs because it helps me lose weight and have a more stable mood and more energy. When I was dieting before…
  • didn't work.... sorry
  • After going months on end eating really low and exercising hard, when I would eat 1800-2000 a day, the weight would come back on because my body was used to functioning on so much less. I'm not a doctor or anything, but I assume it was also a "feast" to my "famine-mode" body, so my body decided to store all it could. Plus,…
  • I think it's doable. How much are you moving around the rest of the day (not the 20 minutes with JM)? I've found that increasing your activity during "non-exercise" times helps so much. :)
  • That is awesome!! Good for you! Nice to have supportive loved ones along for the run! :)
  • I love that everyone is so receptive to this post! Weight loss isn't a race. It's about changing your mindset, slowing down and having long term success.
  • Why not just raise your protein? It helps with satiety and it doesn't affect your blood sugar as much as many carbohydrates. You can customize your macronutrients (carbs, fat, protein) to whatever you want within your calorie budget. Just change your goals and instead of doing "guided," do "custom." Good luck! :)
  • In my opinion, the most you can eat! Then when you stop losing, you can drop it down. Why go super low when you don't have to? :0)
  • I'm excited, too! I weigh in on Mondays, so my last weigh-in of 2012 is tomorrow!! That will be my official starting weight. I'd say I'll be with this challenge for at least 30 weeks. :0)
  • http://www.fitbit.com/user/23L8ZY Can't wait to rack up that many steps! :)
  • Just stick with it. If you give up, you have to keep starting over. If you just keep going, week after week, before you know it, you will be at your goal!! It is a slow process, but that's ok. Consistency will get you there. The "quick-fix" approach only sets you up for disappointment and failure. Decide you want it more…
  • Just log your exercise normally on MFP. If the fitbit thinks you did more than you logged or if you are more active than your account setting (i.e., sedentary) it will add calories burned to the "fitbit adjustment" area. :)
  • I can't live without mine! I was so pumped when I hit 20,000 steps yesterday! http://www.fitbit.com/user/23L8ZY
  • I use this for my breakfast: 1 scoop chocolate protein powder 1 TBS cocoa powder 1 cup unsweetened almond milk 1/3-1/2 c. plain greek yogurt ice I love how chocolate-y it is! I'm going to get some instant coffee and try adding that after reading these posts!
  • I like this post! I'll tell you what I feel has worked for me: 1. Don't get into the mindset of wanting a "quick fix" and try to eat too little so that you are miserable. 2. Be consistent. Log in every day and log everything you eat (even when it's embarrassing--see my diary the past few days!) 3. This has been key for…
  • I love mine! It keeps me moving. I set my profile to sedentary and eat back at least some of the calories it adds when it syncs.

  • I have the ultra and I absolutely love it. It is not just a pedometer. It tracks acceleration and can tell when you are going up stairs or walking on an incline outside. The fitbit website is really cool and I love that it links to MFP. Also, I love how it motivates me to do more all day. I've had nothing but success with…

  • Thanks for this! So true! Honesty and consistency all the way.
  • I love body pump and what it does for my body. I have been struggling with whether to do pump on my "weights" days (just starting back after a long and gluttonous break) or to do the new rules of lifting. I think I will do a combo (i.e. try your suggestion). Thanks! When I did it before, I just used pump as my lifting.…
  • Just the motivation I need!! Awesome!!
  • Your quads look awesome!! Way to go!!
