It is only just a bit of fun and people need to not take it too seriously!

I am below average for Uk where I live and to be honest I expected that (as they take age into consideration too, despite being over a healthy BMI

thick yogurt, or greek yogurt and chocolate protein powder makes a great chocolate type moose along with berries it is great

well done on what you have achieved, particularly with the other challenges you have had going on. I would love to have shapely arms like you have but am struggling to get them! Meanwhile my calves bulked up a couple of years ago from just C25K and have stayed that way despite doing a lot less running and are now getting…

I am with you on that unless it is a pina colada, very delish

keep eating similar foods as you did when losing but just add in a bit more. Keep an eye on your weight and just go back to counting if you gain (or lose) more than 5 lb

it took me to week 3 to figure out that I was doing the running bits at far too fast a pace for me so well done to you for working it out. It took lots of dry heaving for me to go back and listen properly to what I should be doing. By week 6 I felt like a runner and by week 7 I stop using C25K and just went for it! Good…

duh!!!! just realised that the op was from 2011 and the op has now shut her profile down

not sure where you live but in the uk it is common for docs to advise reduced exercise after an arthritis diagnoses and it is also common for physio to actually offer a life line and work with you to find ways to move and continue with exercise. I really would recommend a visit to a physio therapist before you decide you…

there are plenty that start on here but you could always start your own and get others to join too. usual ones are the plank/squat type ones but you could choose your own or use google to find one that appeals to you and see who will join

be able to do a sub 30 5k. Be able to do a handstand again, not because handstands matter but because my arms will be strong enough and my weight low enough be able to wear the clothes I want to, not the ones that hide my lumps and bumps

english muffin with smoked salmon and light philidephia cheese. yum

or..... just use the counter for you and ignore whether you are hitting the target or not. It is a tool to use, not an absolute rule and as long as you are not following a really unhealthy diet/intake, does it really matter if it says you have too much or too little as long as you are managing the 5:2 correctly.

I am working in kg which is not normal for uk lol so deadlift is my best at 50kg 110lb but my over head press is a woeful 20 kg 44lb. My squat was getting up well but hip flexor issues resurfaced so I have taken that back down to 20 kg and staying there for a while. Hopefully my glutes and core will kick in soon instead of…

just to add when making stews/casseroles etc I estimate calories based on all ingredients used and then halfed/quartered etc as that is all you can ever do with a stew. It would be made for all of us but I would just have less or not have any extras like flat bread with it.

mainly cook the same for the evening meal but I will have more veg and less potato/rice/pasta. For breakfast they all leave the house before me so that is different but would be anyway as they are porridge fans and I hate the stuff!! Lunch is a packed lunch for hubby and son made by hubby so I do have different then as I…

Hello, it's Saturday here now and I have started off the weekend morning with strong lifts 5x5. I have been doing it for a few weeks now and do like it but having to keep the squats at a very low weight due to problems and I am rubbish at the arm stuff (OHP) and stalled already to my embarrassment! Mind you my deadlift has…

hello, I managed to lose the thread for a while but rediscovered it this evening. Not getting very far with this weight loss thing! also not sure that I am getting any fitter either but still hanging in there and trying. I have recently started strong lifts and really like it though my damaged hi is not too keen on the…

start again. Reset your ticker and treat it as a brand new attempt at weight loss. Many of us come on here with 25lb or less to lose (I came with 22lb) and find it a real struggle, You have the tools already to do this so make today a new start

baguettes and delishious cheeses, moules marinier, croissants, french onion soup and fish soup (I forget what it is called!) We camp there most years but have missed the last two and now I want to be there as this has made me think of all the foods we enjoy daily when camping there. There are of course plenty of more fancy…

we managed it but it was not easy. Started out with one dog and then got a kitten and had no issues. Kitten grew to young cat and we took on an adult rottie too. Adult rottie had lived with cats since being a puppy so all in the house were happy. first dog died and along came playful pup whom the cat was happy to teach a…

I didn't experience weight loss when doing the c25k programme but I did find that from about week 4 my clothes were less tight around my waist and that I developed well defined calf muscles that have stayed with me even though these days I only do the odd run and mainly walk!

thank you to everyone for your ideas/links. I will try a range and see what works best for me.

I don't do Rosemary Conley now but many years ago after having my 2 sons I did do one of her 2 week diets to lose the last 1/2 stone I still had after the kids and it worked well then and stayed off for many years. It can and does teach you portion size and healthy food choices but the lack of any fats is too much for me…

I am with the less chocolate gang too as the real stuff is so much nicer and makes those extra calories worth having to burn off!. but when I get cravings and I am at home things like chocolateflavoured craft Philadelphia cheese on toast helps. that way I am getting the needed food but it is chocolate flavour and the cals…

some really tasty home made soups since you said she has lost her appetite. that way she will still be getting plenty of vitamins (make sure there are lots of nice veg in the soup) Use butter to sweat the veg if you/she are concerned about getting in enough calories, otherwise coconut oil is a nice oil to use for sweating.…

would agree with above poster, coconut oil is a nice thing to cook with but it is still down to calories in and out plus exercise. I like the flavour and I also use it on my face and hair as a moisturiser and even sometimes run over my dogs' coats too but though it may be more healthy than some cooking fats, there are no…
