  • would consider some other stuff too to do at home then, like body weight exercises, some of the blogilites videos can be done in really small spaces and loads of hiit free videos on you tube to do at home just for a start
  • 25 is lower than I currently average so I wll try harder. I do like good fats so will have to watch those too I think, like coconut oil and avacardo (not together lol)
  • I was diagnosed with gall bladder disease just over a week ago and I am now on a waiting list for surgery. I first visited my doc as I was using this site for around 2 years and not losing weight despite increased exercise and control of calories in. I had similar stomach issues to the original op. I count calories /weigh…
  • Hi Mandy, I am a lancashire lass in my 40s if you would like to add me. I am not doing too well with this weight loss thing but I am trying lol
  • no idea about the USA but here in the uk supermarkets are the mainstay of food shopping and they do sell plenty of fresh meat/fish/veg/fruit. Small veg shops and butcher do exist too though they have been squeezed out to a certain extent by the larger supermarkets. Most towns and cities are close enough to several large…
  • seems pretty normal to me, one son did it, one didn't. Neither do it now they are adults lol. TBH we stopped this in the end by ignoring the crying when it was not over anything that should be upsetting. We were not harsh or anything, just did not respond to it in any way until he had stopped crying and then discussed.…
  • I wouldn't since it is a negligible amount! (I add ginger to water sometimes) The calorie target is a guide not an absolute amount. To eat ten cals more or ten cals less will not change anything. Now if you were talking about small bites of cake, a piece of chocolate, some chips off someone's plate (fries) then that all…
  • England has St Georges day 23rd April as its national day but it is not a public holiday boo Many people do celebrate it though. We do have 8 public holidays a year though when a lot of workers are off work and these include May day (yes I day to celebrate May!) Spring bank hol (no idea why) Last Monday in Aug (again no…
  • no idea if the healthy claims are true or not but I love it. I use it to cook with (sparingly) as I like the added flavour to stir fries and I also use it on my hair occasionally as an overnight restorer, on my skin when very dry and on my dogs' coats when they are flaky
  • yup Dr Who sucked me in too
  • 44, feel free to add me, female, married, lots of dog walking for exercise with some classes and attempts at running every so often
  • wow, I looked at your photos and just realised how quickly you have managed to do this. that is some dedication you are showing there.
  • Hi great info but could you add more for a beginner how do we start weight wise and how should I build up, e.g how many times to lift a week, when do I increase weight etc. I have done body pump so, even though it is more cardio than weight lifting, I do have an idea of proper form but not much else!!!! We have weights and…

  • day 2 for me. Eating cleanish ok so far and carbs are low, but not non-existent as I need some for energy. But early days lol. A bit early to be reporting weight loss but I am 1.4lb down but that is not just due to yesterday of course.
  • You are a decent weight already which will make it harder to lose more so maybe you should try shaping yourself and forget about the scale. A lot of people seem to have success with weight lifting and tend to lose inches while remaining or even gaining weight but looking far better. Maybe try a bit more of that including…
  • I've started today. My 50 days will not fit in with yours now but still a good motivator
  • you look younger as well as stronger
  • wow, you have really changed your life around
  • I didn't realise this thread had started up again until someone kindly emailed me. Thanks for responding as there are some really positive stories here.
  • It seems that for most people it is still a slow and steady process that works. For me that has not been working too well but I am seriously coming to the conclusion that I need to drastically cut down on wine (or vodka ) as though I keep it in my calories normally (mostly) I think it is that that is scuppering any losses!…
  • I went with a weight I used to be lol. It is mid BMI and when I was that weight I was pretty healthy and could still enjoy food though being younger I did not realise quite what I had then. I have weighed less as an adult but it would not be healthy on me now I am older.
  • like the idea of yoga and did try a hot yoga class recently. did not hurt my neck at all but the teacher was not too good and even went on her mobile phone while teaching the class so I did not go back again! there are others though that I could try.
  • I googled stress after you posted, just out of interest really however I do remember years back a work colleague stating that she had help fro her doc after gaining lots of weight while eating very little. At the time she worked for the police and had a very stressful episode that continued to affect her months afterwards.…
  • you have a really cute baby
  • unless you have some really expensive pieces in there I would get rid. What is the worse that can happen? If it all went wrong and you really did gain again would you really want to wear clothes years out of date but if all goes to plan then you will never fit them again anyway. I just mentioned the expensive stuff but you…
  • my hubby is thin (not skinny) has muscles, though not huge ones and eats like an absolute pig!!! in fact he is nick named piggy as he can eat that much but.... he is still thin. Yes there is some genetics in there but he also can't sit still ever, has a manual job and plays league squash 4-5 nights a week, not to mention…
