Oh I guess I should have read your original post closer... I did not realize it was 1500 for men? I thought it was 1200 for men and women.. Thanks for the info

Why do you say I should change my goal?
-
Ahhh I see. I have only lost 9.6 lbs. I guess I will see this prompt on my next weigh in. Thanks everyone!

* All that remains * Rage against the machines * Metallica * Bullet for my valentine (my personal fav) * The offsprings Those bands make up most of the music on my "on the go" playlists on my ipod right now

This is so true. I used to eat until I was about to explode. After 2-3 weeks of eating healthy and losing nearly 10 lbs, I had a day where I ate till I was about to explode. The next day I felt sick to my stomach and nearly puked... I still have my "cheat" days once in a while, but they just are not as extreme

This will be way easier than not eating chocolate! horray. I burn at least 700 calories per work out usually hehe. Good luck everyone!

I'm going to try the heel walking. I have been trying to strengthen that area, and this should help immensely

I believe the root cause of my shin splints was my shoes, they basically had to cushion left. I got new ones and I feel a huge difference for cushion. I will use some of the tips listed in this thread (THANKS EVERYONE!) and see how they are in the next couple weeks... I definitely could stretch more.. thats for sure

Yea I have been using 8 month old shoes (they have a lot of miles on them..) But I got a new $129 pair of asics and they seem to help at least a little bit. That was probably my main issue.. hopefully they will gradually get better now. Thanks for the info I'm going to check out the links later!

I agree. Kaylee should have stepped up and said she was fine going home. She is like 170 lbs and getting very close to a "normal" weight. It made me very upset to see that EVERYONE voted for him. I am very happy to see that arthur is doing so good at home! At first I did not think that he was really into losing the weight…

This is the worst thing in the world! People do it all the time to me because they know it makes me cringe!

My goal weight is 203 for Saturday. I turned down girl scout cookies at work today, and chocolate cake when I went out to eat tonight. Lets keep it goin!

I just looked at the first thread, and WOW you look crazy good! You look sooooooooooooo much smaller. You did what contestants on the biggest loser do, but you have done it twice as good as them, and without all the professional help. Great work, you have done one of the hardest things anyone will ever do!

3800 so far m-f so I guess about 750

I'm in if there is a spot I live in IOWA

Congrats, I'm glad all your hard work is paying off

I believe that consuming less calories than you burn includes the calories you burn all day without physical activities. If you wear a heart rate monitor at work will sitting at your desk, you will see that your body still is burning calories while doing nothing. Those calories are included as "calories burned" in this…

It depends how heavy you are and how in shape you are. I'm 211 lbs 5"9 male and im in pretty good shape. For the first 15 minutes the treadmill says i burn more calories than my heart rate monitor. After that my Heart rate monitor calculates a higher calorie burn. The more intense your workout, the more accurate the…

I can tell a big difference already.. and you lost nearly a pound every 2 days.. thats excellent
-
Generally I have found that weight loss is a little delayed with a big change like that... keep with it, you should see better results in 1-2 more weeks.
-
You should not have a day where you dont care at all. Think of it this way. You want to lose 1 lb a week, so you need to comsume 3500 less calories than your body needs in a week. Say you require 2000 calories a day to stay the same weight. 6 days in the week you eat 1400 calories. on your cheat day you over indulge and…

Yea all of the above. There are different shakes for different purposes. Bodybuilders for example drinks shakes with tons of protein (50+) for building muscle fast.

Thanks guys. I will go have some pineapple and peanuts.. still not hungry though... oh well :-)
-
Thanks a lot for the great responses everyone. That is kind of what I expected to hear. I usually work out at night (7 - 9 PM) and I dont like to eat that late, so I will just have to eat more before my workouts. Thanks!
-
Okay. That is kind of what I figured.. I just feel that if I'm not hungry I shouldn't be eating, but I suppose if I still net close to my 1370 , that all will work better. Thanks
-
Yea I have a heart rate monitor. I average about 800 - 1000 / hour doing interval sprints. Average heart rate around 170 usually
-
Will I lose more having less net calories? or will it just make my metabolism slow down do you think? If I dont feel hungry, I dont mind eating less, especially if it means dropping more weight
-
Go with a polar heart rate monitor. My wife and I both love ours, and I cannot workout without mine now!

Good read, this pretty much sums it up... Chewing gum helps me the most
