You can mix it in with oatmeal. If you let us know which flavor you have, we can know which flavors would mix well with it. Personally, I've never tried it in soups or gravies since even if it is unflavored, it would thicken the broth. Maybe mixed in to mashed potatoes..

Welcome and good luck

I slow cook steel cut oats with cherries, brown sugar, almond extract, almond milk, and water. It's delicious. Add 2 egg whites to it and you're still around 300 calories.

Meal 1: 2 hard boiled egg whites and Steel cut oats, brown sugar, fruit, almond milk (I like to slow cook a batch for 5+ hours on Sundays, or overnight, so I can just add a bit of almond milk or water in the mornings and heat them up) Meal 2: Protein Shake (+ 28g raw almonds or pistachios if I need a snack) Meal 3: 4oz…

Hi! I'm Casty. 31, mom of 3 boys. Been on MFP on and off for years to get me back in line when I fall off.

Does your HRM have your height/weight stats? Your resting HR? I'd probably go with whichever had the most information as I'd think it would be more accurate, but I tend to just use my Fitbit and don't pay attention to anything else.

Of course you should wear whatever you feel comfortable in. What an *kitten* your mother is! (no offense). I don't think I have ever met a single person who didn't have any scars.... we all still wear dresses and shorts and swim suits, too. Besides, it's summer and hot outside. "Whatever. I do what I want!"

Try stronglifts 5x5. It will give you the 3 days per week lifting you are looking for, so you can do cardio the other 3 days, while also using compound lifts. Even if you do not add weight every week, it will benefit you to do the lifts. If you want to switch it up or add in extra workouts targeting specific muscle groups…

Thanks, I read the post you made about taking a break. No worries! Good luck with everything! xx

I never used a waist trainer. But I did use a cloth wrap with velcro (kinda like the Belly Bandit) to help support the post-baby belly with all of my kids. (I have 3) It definitely helped while my uterus shrank and it helped with the cramping from breastfeeding. It didn't help me lose weight or inches though... that came…

Heyyyy I'm part of the "younger generation", how about that!? lol It seems every year around July I get a workout bug and it is soooo hard to stick with that by October and the holidays it's fizzling out. Hopefully this year, that doesn't happen because being active and fit feels so damn good! What motivates you? My…

Don't put sedentary unless you seriously are stuck on a couch or bed all day. I'm an accountant with a desk job and I'm still "lightly active", as are most people. Try 1300 for a few weeks. See how you do. You may drop weight too fast and feel way too hungry. You'll know to up your calories. Or track how many calories you…

Add strength training for body recomp as you go. Otherwise you won't look as fit as you want to when you hit your goal weight. You could just measure your lean body mass if you track your body fat percentage. That way you are tracking the actual fat lost, not the weight.

Let me know if you do one for August

I'm in. I loathe running, but I get out of breath doing exercises so I really do need to get more cardio and endurance in. Walking seems like a good start. I use a Fitbit, so I'll just count my total distance for the days, rather than tracking specific walks. My goal will be 60 miles for the month. Hopefully I'm doing more…

Did you track your measurements and body fat percentage through your journey? Sometimes we are focused on the pounds and don't see what our bodies need. I promised myself this time around, my goal would be to lower my body fat percentage, rather than lose weight. I'd rather be strong and fit than be at my goal weight with…

Stress and hormones can absolutely raise blood sugars. My son is a type 1 and sometimes wears a CGM, so we can watch it while he's at school. For a while he would always spike when his first class of the day started, even if he ate a carb-free breakfast and we couldn't figure out why... until he let us know there was a…

I've been MIA a couple months, sorrrrry!! Would love to join in August again.
