  • It sounds right. I started at the same weight as you and that is about the same amount of calories I was given too. Over time as I have lost a bit of weight, my calorie allotment has gone down. Stick to it and you will lose! Slow and steady wins the race.

  • I lost 50 pounds using MFP's plan and only worried about calories, before I even knew what a macro was. As I've progressed, I've changed a couple things a bit (like trying to get more protein because I suck at that), but still follow MFP, and eat back my exercise calories too.

  • I have found that I am most successful when I log all my food daily and I'm honest with myself, even when I go over my calories. Then the next day I log everything again. Keeping at it every day is the key to making it work! So no giving up!

  • I don't really see a lot of people on MFP bashing diet soda drinkers. As others have said, we need to keep in mind that this study is biased. Drink what you like, as for me I will drink regular soda because diet tastes funny (except for the dr pepper).
