Hi, I’m just coming back after a long break as well. I’m going to add everybody above 😊

It sounds right. I started at the same weight as you and that is about the same amount of calories I was given too. Over time as I have lost a bit of weight, my calorie allotment has gone down. Stick to it and you will lose! Slow and steady wins the race.

I am going to try this, thanks!

I would say that you could start by ditching the cauliflower bread. You need to get higher calorie foods in your diet, so what about regular bread? (If you are really into eating clean, it's actually not hard to make all different kinds of homemade breads). Peanut butter, or a 1/4 cup nuts (that's like 200 calories).…

Yoda chapter 2 verse 6: "Do, or do not, there is no try".

I walk to my kids school three times a day, about 20 minutes round trip each time to drop off and pick up kids. I have noticed that I feel much better physically and emotionally on the days that I do this. However it doesn't feel the same as a longer walk or workout. But there IS a difference, because on weekends or…

I lost 50 pounds using MFP's plan and only worried about calories, before I even knew what a macro was. As I've progressed, I've changed a couple things a bit (like trying to get more protein because I suck at that), but still follow MFP, and eat back my exercise calories too.

I just started it today! I would like to join. I've done it before, with good results :)

Not just with diet and fitness, but in life in general, I see people having problems with consistency. There is not enough follow through. People are busy, priorities get juggled, and often we have to decide what to spend time on among seemingly equally important parts of our lives. So many factors are involved.

First 2 seasons of True Blood The Tudors Breaking Bad I could binge on Game of Thrones, but I've been watching from the beginning and haven't rewatched them. I need a new series.
-
You are so lucky! If I were you, I would stock up on good books to read, choose some new complicated recipes to try, and be learning to knit. That's just me though, what are your interests? It's good that you don't want to veg in front of the tv all day!

Oh I know how you feel, I also struggle with anemia and last Wednesday I had to go to the hospital and get a blood transfusion, in which I felt massively better after. Make sure you are getting all your iron pills and eating lots of iron rich foods, and if you feel too weak and lightheaded, go get checked out because your…

I have found that I am most successful when I log all my food daily and I'm honest with myself, even when I go over my calories. Then the next day I log everything again. Keeping at it every day is the key to making it work! So no giving up!

Cheesecake...or pie...or a cobbler...or some freshly baked bread... Yumm. Can you tell I love to bake?
-
I also use oats. I think it tastes better that way! Try the South Dakota meatloaf recipe from Taste of Home.

Are you trying to change too many things at once? Pick one or 2 things as small goals, and your changes may be more sustainable and you will be able to stick to them easier. When I started out, I added in a walk every evening and added an extra serving of veggies in each day. Later I focused on stopping drinking soda all…

Yes. This.

I don't want to sound mean, but it could have been worse, you could have got a DUI for driving around tipsy. As for your binge, sometimes it happens, but what is important is what you do the next day. It's a process, and if you keep working at it, you can get to your goal still!

I'm going to print out some days for him. That's a great idea, thanks, it will make it easier to explain!

Thank you everybody. I've been been overweight since I was 8, only problem I've ever had was extreme anemia as a teenager, and then again with each of my pregnancies. Haven't been to the doctor since before I started losing weight, and I bought the iron pills at the grocery store ( kind of a self diagnosis) but have only…

Ok thanks, I guess I'm kind of scared that the Dr. will tell me to stop counting calories or something, which I would like to continue doing!

I don't really see a lot of people on MFP bashing diet soda drinkers. As others have said, we need to keep in mind that this study is biased. Drink what you like, as for me I will drink regular soda because diet tastes funny (except for the dr pepper).
-
Your doctor brushed aside your concerns and didn't respect you. Since you are able to, I would see a different doctor.

When people bring it up first saying they want to lose a certain amount of pounds I will say "hey we should do it together, I've already lost 55 pounds, I use myfitnesspal, it's free it's easy" etc. I don't really bring it up first though. Maybe you could focus on the fitness aspect more , some people respond better to…

Sound like you lost a lot of water weight when you changed up your diet those first 4 days. Then when you started exercising a couple days ago, your muscles started retaining water for repair (or something like that, I don't know how to explain it scientifically), so it looks like weight loss slowed. My suggestion would be…

I like stuffing bell peppers with beans, rice, tomatoes, cheese. The weather is getting warmer but what about chili? A million different kinds to make, with lots of leftovers...

I make 1 meal for my family every night, and have lost weight anyways. Last night it was spaghetti, with garlic bread. I weight out my food, and logged it in my diary, didn't have any garlic bread (even though I usually have some of that too), and gave my kids and husband their usual portions. I love to cook and make tons…

Oh I just read that you already went back. Good for you, I'm glad it went better!

Please hang in there, you have so much to gain! Don't let your anxiety get the best of you! Your instructor was right, it will get easier. One time I took an aerobics class, and the same thing happened to me. The instructor was very encouraging and helped me, because I kept coming back. It was a little embarrassing, I…

I graduate with my B.A. in one month, and I was just accepted into grad school for the fall. I'm stressed, nervous, excited, all rolled into one. Going to try and eat right along the way!
